Veterans United Home Loans of Colorado Springs Reviews

We had a very positive experience with Veterans United regarding our home refinance. Our personal loan specialist, Martin Schneider and his team, did an amazing job. Everything went smoothly from our application until closing. It was our pleasure working with them.

Yeah, NO.. I made a huge mistake by going with this company. I only went with them because it was recommended to me by my sister and my sister had great a experience with them, but not me. I believe the assistant is probably new, one thing that strike me with him was when he had said that the credits won’t affect that much, we’ll sad to say that my credit score went down because of you. The husband and wife had amazing attitude, but that assistant brags about himself and how he is the one that does everything when I only ask what happen to his boss, because I would rather talk to someone who was refer to me and he told me that he was the one who does everything and that he probably did the paperwork with my sister, no he didn't. The couple was great but the assistant Nope.
Hi, I'm so sorry we didn't live up to your sister's recommendation, and I appreciate the feedback as it helps us improve our service. Our goal is always to treat our customers with the same respect and care we would give our own family. I totally understand your credit score concerns. However, any credit inquiry we made shouldn't impact your ability to get financing. According to consumerfinance.gov, "Within a 45-day window, multiple credit checks from mortgage lenders are recorded on your credit report as a single inquiry." You can read that entire article here: https://www.consumerfinance.gov/ask-cfpb/what-exactly-happens-when-a-mortgage-lender-checks-my-credit-en-2005/. If you have any other feedback or concerns, please reach out at 1-800-212-5200 or [email protected]. Client Advocates are in the office from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Central Time. If you need to reach us outside those hours, we can typically get back to you the next business day. Take care, Jerod, Client Relations

Quoted me for a very low amount for my area so I went with a local company which put me in my new home fairly quickly. I was amazed at the difference. I closed on my house for $377,000. Veterans united gave me a pre-approval amount of $295,000. Go to your local community credit union.
Hey Paul, I'm sorry we weren't able to earn your business on your recent home purchase. While we understand we won't always end up being the lender to make your loan, I hope a little clarification here is helpful. We remain committed to delivering exceptional homebuying experiences while still ensuring your loan is done the right way from preapproval to closing. We don't take preapprovals lightly to be sure and this is why we make an effort to back it up with documentation. We have no reason to be anything other than transparent, so if there's anything we can clear up for you, please let us know. Our Client Advocate team is available from 9 am to 5 pm CST Monday-Friday. You can call us at 800-212-5200 or email [email protected]. Sincerely, Kendra, Client Relations

I can't express enough how much I am sad and angry with these people. We started our process on December 9th of 2021. It is now January 18th of 2022. We submitted everything they requested online and told to wait. We figured because of the holidays coming up and whatnot that maybe they were just on break. We had given everything, we just need to get pre approval, or maybe we would be denied. We figured we would find out relatively soon. I had even emailed Alice if she had gotten everything, there was no response to that email.Well at the end of December, after Christmas, we called both Alice and Josh and customers service because Alice and Josh never answered their calls. Nor got back to us. After calling Customer service they reached out. Alice spoke to my husband saying we needed to provide more info. Well, no problem, except it took us contacting her to get her to tell us this. Well we got that information, she said we would be in the ball park of around 300,000 for pre approval. Cool, we could try looking at places while we wait on the official letter! We'll we find a hone we really love, we still don't have a pre approval letter, so we tell her if she can't get the letter that day for this house so we can put an offer in then we have to go somewhere else. Admittedly we should have gone somewhere else. We get the approval for 215,000 which is the listing rate for the house. We have literally no wiggle room and asked if we could get pre approved for 232,000, which may or may not matter depending on how the inspection goes, but if we only have that one letter we also want to know what other houses we could get as they just applied the loan amount for the MLS. Well we are waiting for the new updated letter and now it is today! January 18th of 2022, a whole 40 days after we started this entire process, we get an email from her saying we are denied for any loan through them as the underwriter doesn't like my employment. Now, I am not necessarily upset that they didn't approve us, I am upset about literally everything up to this day. And if the people or person or whoever is going to respond to this from their office doesn't understand what I am mad about, then do not bother replying to this review. You are literally toying with our lives. If you would have told us that from the beginning, we could have done so much else trying to find a home. And just a reminder to the people over there that may have seen our file, my husband is disabled, and we needed a home before the end of January otherwise we would be homeless as we can't stay in our current house past January, we started this in December which could have been plenty of time, and maybe we should have just said no and gone with someone else, but you are literally ranked number 2 on most VA home loan lender's, but right now it certainly feels like you don't deserve that title at all.
Hi Erin, Dang, I am really sorry to hear this. I empathize with the anticipation associated with homebuying, especially during such a busy time of year. I took a look at your loan file to try and get a clearer idea of what exactly went wrong here and the reason for the lag in communication. After speaking with your LO, I learned that part of the delay in communication was due to the underwriting process and verifying employment. It sounds like we could have done a better job keeping you and your husband in the loop, and I apologize we didn't. Ultimately, it sounds like we couldn't make it work this time, and I truly am sorry about that. If you have additional questions about the home buying process, the VA loan, or anything else, we would be happy to talk through that with you some more. I know you've chatted with our Client Advocate team already, but if you'd like to reach out again, you can at 1-800-212-5200 or [email protected]. We're in the office from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. CST. Only use if you're active duty or you might confuse them. They will tell you whatever you want until it's time to finalize the loan, then the story changes. They will hold out as long as possible to lock your rate in so they can get a higher rate.
Hello Maximus, Thank you for taking a moment to write. I'd like to look into this for you, but I’m unable to find you based on your Google profile info. If you’re willing, would you please give our Client Advocate team a call? We understand not every homebuying experience goes perfectly, despite our best efforts to make it so. If we can help restore any trust we’ve lost, we want to try. You can call Client Advocate at 1-800-212-5200 or email [email protected]. We’re in the office Monday-Friday 9 am to 5 pm CST. Veterans United made my original VA loan and VA Streamlined refinance incredibly easy. They were incredibly professional, very responsive to my questions, and they did everything but hold my hand along the way. I hope to be able to patronize their services and expertise again in the future.

Words cannot express my deep disappointment in this organization. I have good credit, and make alright money , and could not get approved through this organization. I thought this place helps vets? What a joke. They ran and lowered my credit score for no reason. A total waste of time. Go elsewhere.
Jeremiah, Thanks for writing and letting me know. I reached out to our team immediately to find out what happened. I learned the previous loan officer you initially worked with is no longer working at Veterans United. Our Client Advocates have also assigned a new loan officer who will be reaching out to you soon. Be on the lookout to hear from her. I apologize for the for the fallout in the communication here. Veterans, This is my third home purchase through Veterans United (VU). You can’t go wrong with this company. They provide outstanding service, surpass the ease of other Veteran home loan institutions, and they are more efficient. The VU portal makes the entire loan process a breeze. My loan officer was incredible. So cheerful and helpful. Give them a try, I know you will be satisfied.

Alice was absolutely phenomenal! I highly recommend her. She was able to save us a lot of money and is incredibly knowledgeable about VA loans etc. We switched to her halfway through our home buying experience and she was still able to keep us on track to our closing date and got us lower rates than the previous lender. Thank you Alice and associates!!
K
My experience with Veteran's United was first rate from start to finish. Alice helped me find an amazing realtor and made the loan process much easier than I ever thought it could be. She got us to the closing table in only 16 days after we submitted our offer. Our family will forever be appreciative of the work Alice at Veteran's United and our realtor Blair Dinkins did to help us get our forever home.
S
I received exceptional service from Alice and the Veterans United team. This was my first home loan and they made the process seamless with a very not straightforward situation. I would highly recommend Veterans United to all of my veteran friends.
K
We have already told ten people about Veterans United. Our experience working with Team Alice was the only reason we continued with the closing of our home. They not only ensured we would get the best rates but we would be getting the best home for us. We highly recommend Veterans United above all others. We can only pay it forward in their name, but they deserve so much more.

Veterans United was easy to work with. Alice responded quickly and professionally. Our loaned closed 11 days earlier than originally expected.
