UPDATE TO MY REVIEW - Unitus has been very proactive in responding to this review and has reached out via phone and email. They have been very nice. Thank you Unitus. I am still not able to access my cash beyond ATM limits. Unitus customer service is top notch but access to my money is also very important. The credit union should look into reopening shared branching relationships. I have been a member for over 25 years. It used to be a wonderful credit union. Unfortunately Unitus has lost all of their relationships with other co-op shared branches and no longer provide shared branching. I don't live in Portland and currently there is no way for me to access my money without driving to portland. This is unacceptable and unfortunately I will have to close my accounts. They have been a great company over the last 30 years and I've enjoyed working with their customer service team. Unfortunately being able to access my money is the most important thing for me in a bank. I have called multiple times to try to find a solution to this without any success. If there is a manager who reads this review please reach out to me if you have some way to reopen shared branching or provide access to my money beyond the ATM limits.

Horrible experience with their lending department. DO NOT USE THEM for loans, car, rv, house..... They change the rules on you and take forever to answer. Absolutely ridiculous. Went to a different credit union and was shocked at the difference in service. DO NOT USE THEM! There are better credit union out there. Horribly mismanaged staff in my opinion.

My wife and I recently opened a business account with Unitus and the staff was so helpful. I especially want to thank Ryan G. (T1528) and Nathan A. They were the two who helped us with setting up the account, obtain a business credit card and wiring funds. Thank you guys, I really appreciate it!

We had an AMAZING experience!! Omar (who helped us with our car loan) is INCREDIBLE! He worked day and night to make sure we got in the perfect car for our growing family! Please request him if you get a car loan through unitus! You will NOT be disappointed! He is truly incredible and we appreciate him and his amazing work ethic and his kindness! :)

I have been a very satisfied member of the Unitus Community Credit Union family since high school. Over the 35 years I have been a member, since it was Telco, Unitus has been there for me at every single major life change. Before 9/11, there was a travel agency and an auto locator service available. We planned our honeymoon to San Francisco and Disneyland through them, and bought our first new car with their help. Unitus has been our mortgage lender for both of our houses and has helped us refinance when we needed to build a garage or get cash out on the home's equity. We recently needed to take out a substantial loan for business expansion and it was a somewhat complicated situation. As she did for our second home purchase and subsequent refinance, Phaysy Allen found the perfect solution to our new challenge. She understood exactly what we needed, listened to all our questions, walked us through the many detailed steps, and was there if we had any questions. She handled every step, from the initial prequalifiation application, through the final deposit of the money into the account. Even way after banking hours, she called and alerted us to the next steps that needed to happen. She was so patient and calm, with outstanding customer service. I told her I would panic if I ever found out she was no longer with Unitus. Phaysy is fantastic but I can also attest to the fact that every staff member with the company is great. The Market St branch in Salem is our closest one and it's a pleasure to go there. They are always very friendly and it never feels forced. The whole team is devoted to finding the best solution to your needs. Every. Single. Time. Unitus has been my only bank even when I lived out of state. I will never use anyone but them.

Just got our mortgage refinanced through Unitus. The whole process was a breeze 🤗 From the mortgage side with Phaysy Allen’s professional attitude, she was very helpful every step of the way. She’s a real asset to this financial institution and I wish her all the best. Austin Anderson, was also very helpful in opening our new account. You can expect professionalism as you walk into this Salem branch. Kudos to all of you and keep up the great work that you guys are doing 👍

Bankers there are nice and friendly , they're always ready to help us , the place is so nice and clean .

Sure they have good rates on home loans, but unfortunately the lack of communication during the process ended up costing me a lot of money and unnecessary stress. I continually was hit with unexpected fees due to rules that I was not aware of until it was too late to avoid them. It was really disheartening and frustrating when I had completed all of the tasks I was responsible for, but because I was not being given all the information, I was penalized for it. Overall it soured my experience with them greatly and just the stress of the whole thing made me wish that I had gone with a different credit union.

I will never bank anywhere else!!! I have been down on my luck since covid started and I didn't have much money but I still made it work. Then one day I saw my account was overdrawn and I immediately tried to contact the bank to see if I could get my fee waved. . . . (part where I start tearing up) this very nice man said he would wave my fee and it might not show up for a few days but then he said he put $311 in my account. . . .at this point I'm thinking i miss heard him but then I went and looked in my account there it was! Money for food, rent and my daughter's back to school clothes!!! I never in my life have had something like this happen and clearly unitus hires not just good workers but good people who lend a hand when hard times happen. You will not regret banking with unitus.

This location is the one I mostly use physically. I've been a member for over 10+ years. When my new debit card was processed (due to fraudulent activity), the overdraft protection was not set up on my account like I had on my past debit card This led to me having 10 x $35/each overdrafts = $350.00 Raelynn read the notes on my account and found out that I had overdraft protection. She said that Unitus would credit my charges. She said that she could do some of them, but Jerrell (manager) could do more quicker. She apologized for the mixup. Jerrell came out and said that all been credited back. I continue to be overly pleased with the staff at Unitus Community Credit Union. Thanks for letting me share my experience. Ed

I went in last week to pay off my auto loan and the lady who helped me, Kay Dizdarevic, was extremely helpful. Not only did she assist me with my immediate need, she also brought up helpful financial recommendations that I haven’t even thought about. Every single experience I have with Unitus Community Credit Union is always outstanding. I've been a member for over 30 years and currently use the Salem Market Street Branch. The tellers are very friendly, helpful, and make you feel like family. We recently refinanced our mortgage with Unitus and Phaysy Allen was wonderful. She made the entire process smooth and painless and was able to get us into an affordable 15 year mortgage. I love being part of the Unitus family and will never consider banking anywhere else.

I have been with Unitus for over 13 years and i have NEVER had any issues with them. They have always been very courteous and friendly to me and my family. We all have accounts here and I have had 3 loans with them. They are always respectful to us and do whatever they can do to make your time here pleasant. I have been helped by Phaysy, Nate and Austin regularly at the Salem Branch and they are all wonderful, but no matter who helps me with my financial services, they always make sure that you feel well taken care of. I have banked with Unitus for 15+ years now and have always enjoyed their customer service, caring and attention to detail. We just went through a refinance working with Phaysy out of the Salem branch and she was great. She explained every part of the process in detail, followed up on all of my questions quickly and patiently and kept me informed every step of the way. She has a great attitude and is always very pleasant to talk to. Like almost everyone else, her job is clearly harder to do with all that is going on in the world right now, but she never let it show. I would and will happily continue to use them for any banking and lending needs

Extremely helpful and extremely knowledgeable. Ever since I've switched to Unitus credit Union. My wife and I have been extremely pleased. Today I spent two hours a problem I had fixed. I made a appointment at unitus credit Union with Nathan Adams. Although I got there a little early he welcomed me in and had me sit down with him at a desk. He spent an hour and a half helping me fix my issue . Thanks to him everything is fixed and it was done promptly and respectfully. I highly recommend unitus credit Union to anybody who's looking for a great place to bank. The staff are polite and knowledgeable and willing to help no matter what.... The Salem branch is awesome!!! The last several times I visited, I received great service from all: the tellers, senior teller, customer representatives and the mortgage loan officers! Phaysy Allen is always willing to help on a moments notice with any financial needs by responding very quickly and explaining the types of mortgage loan options Unitus CCU has to offer. I am glad this branch opened closer to my home a few years back as it meets and exceeds my expectations. I will will continue referring my family and friends in joining this credit union! After spending 3 hours at a branch meeting with my girlfriend resolving fraudulent activity on her account I was assured I was added as an authorized caller to help facilitate her resolution. When I called I was informed that my access was not set up properly and could not be helped. Thanks to excellent customer service Janelle resolved the issue quickly and friendly.. thanks janelle

I just wanted to post this and express how helpful, kind, and patient Ryan Gibson has been in his assistance of me. Though I didn’t receive what I was ultimately seeking, Ryan still took the time to try and help which is leaps and bounds above other lenders and financial institutions I have dealt with. His personality and customer service are definitely something that should be awarded. I hope this is received and acted upon in a positive way, as Ryan is a true asset to your business!

I love going in to this bank. Market St. Salem, OR. The people who work here are always helpful and really nice! I highly recommend this credit union to anyone who wants great customer service every time you go in.

I work over 75/week, so I don’t want a hassle when I’m running errands. The staff at Mall 205 has all made my visit to their branch pleasant. Never a long wait, if an issue arises, it’s usually handled in a timely manner. So, Yvette, Boyd, Phil, and the other young lady who works the window. Thank you for making a busy life smooth, and pleasant. The other young lady at the window is deserving of praise, and will edit this review with her name. She always has at least a few vegan candies for me when I visit. Thank you so much guy’s. Thank you for making things easy, in this crazy time.

Omar C. at the Salem branch has been amazing to work with. He provided clear instructions on what he needed from me in order to get things processed quickly and it was in fact processed in a timely professional manner! He was personable, detailed, kind, helpful and transparent with all of the major and minor details. I highly recommend Unitus for all of your loan and banking needs and especially if you get to work with Omar! I've been a Unitus customer since 2014.

It has taken me 4 phone calls and 3 months so far to attempt to close my accounts with Unitus, no one contacts me when they fail to close them, so I have to follow up every single time to figure out why it hasn't closed. Fingers crossed the most recent call worked :(

Had a great experience working with Omar! Together we found a solid car loan that was perfect for me. I had the car already lined up & sent him all the documents he needed & within 15 minutes he had an appointment set up three days from the call to finalize the sale. I absolutely love banking with Unitus! I had the pleasure of working with Omar, he was amazingly kind and had just a fabulous attitude! They have an amazing group of staff and each member I work with just makes me love banking here more. If I could leave a ten star review I would!

Obtained a vehicle loan and checking account with Unitus in Salem Oregon about 2 years ago. Always helpful representatives when I come into the branch to do my banking. They have always been able to answer my questions and address any issues I have quickly. Will keep banking with them for many more years.

Just want to share that my wife and I just recently closed on a home and we got our mortgage through Phaysy Allen at Unitus Credit Union in Salem. Phaysy and her team were an absolute pleasure to work with. Communication was excellent and prompt, always very courteous and knowledgeable, happy to answer all of our questions, and best of all they gave us their time. We never felt rushed. We were not sure if a home was within our reach this year, but after sitting down with Phaysy we were able to see a way forward and get the home we always wanted. We have been members with Unitus for over 35 years. We decided to refinance our mortgage to get a lower rate and contacted multiple lenders. Working with Phaysy Allen, Unitus Mortgage Officer was a wonderful experience! She answered all of our questions and said if we received a lower rate to forward it to her. Unitus honored the lower rate. The whole process went smoothly and Phaysy was in contact with us every step in the process. We would highly recommend her!

I have banked with this bank for only a year but my parents have been with this bank for quite awhile and I have to say since joining I have loved every minute. It’s so easy to get what I need done and especially with the help of the people that work there. Especially the lady that helped me and my boyfriend today set up an account. Raelynn, she was such great help, she made sure we understand everything that was going on and she was so easy to talk to and super friendly.

Poor communication took weeks to go threw the process and no one cared about the fact that we lost out on our car because they couldn’t get around to our paperwork!

I was trying to find a Credit Union that was close to me in Salem... I found Unitus. The service was excellent..I was opened a Checking &,a Savings Account ..with one of their Staff member by the name of Austin. He was very pleasant and in a matter of minutes in was all done. The service was excellent. I would recommend Unitus Community Credit Union to anyone.

Unitus community credit union financed my two cars which are both paid off anyways, and with Unitus I moved in to my home. They are great credit union with Amazing staff. Special thanks to Phaysy Allen whom Convinced my to refinance my car with Unitus in 2013 with a lower interest rate to compared to what I was paying to the previous creditor. Same Phaysy happened to be my mortgage loan officer this year and we close the deal successfully. She mastered her skill and good at with she does. I I have recommended a lot of people to Unitus who are still members till date and have no regret, and will not stop recommending.
