UnBank Check Cashing & Loans- St. Paul at Hillcrest White Bear Ave, St Paul

This place is so unprofessional in so many ways. I am enrolled into a Native American tribe and I sometimes receive compensation checks in an old name I had before I was adopted. When I first got my check in my old name I had to go and get proof and sign a petition with my other siblings in Hennepin county so we can have court document proof that our names were changed during the adoption process. I went to this place and brought all the documents I received directly from the judge and my birth certificate and ID, and the lady who cashed it for me was very understanding and thoroughly looked through all of our documents and told me she made double copies to save digitally just in case in the future if I receive another check in my previous name. I went to this exact location and tried cashing the exact same check they already did back in September 2021 and the lady was very rude and unprofessional, At first she told me she had no file or any saved information on my file from before and that I needed to bring in the documents again. I left and brought back all the exact same documents AGAIN and she took copies of all the documents I brought in, and informed she did have record on file that i did previously cash my check there but the information wasn’t good enough. I told her those papers were directly from the judge who had access to my adoption/name change files and she laughed at me in my face and told me “I’m not good with documents and my manager said no, so you so that need to explain anything to me” as I tried to calmly tell her that I don’t under why m name change documents aren’t enough proof if you guys already scanned my documents went over them and told me everything was fine the first time!!! seriously why are you even working at a cash checking place if you are going to be rude and demand customers to bring in addition information just to tell them no and laugh at them. There is no other documentation that i need to show proof of a name change everything I provided to the clerk was the exact documentation the judge who released my records to me gave me. People have lives and things to do and I feel personally attacked as if this lady thought I was a liar and faking everything basically telling me I’m a liar and bringing in fake information WHEN THIS EXACT SAME LOCATION ALREADY TOOK COPIES OF ALL OF MY DOCUMENTS AND TOLD ME “IF YOU COME BACK WE WILL HAVE ALL OF YOUR INFORMATION ON FILE JUST IN CASE” Totally unprofessional and extremely rude to laugh in a customers face and tell them “Im not good with documents”

Sometimes I need to come here to cash a check that I do not want on my bank record, or to get a money order. The service is always quick, kind and in and out. If you try to get money orders anywhere else, there machines ALEAYS down, or they have long lines that move like quicksand (cvs) and then theIR computers don’t work when you get there. Lalala -anyway, this is the best place around for all your unbanking business needs and money orders! And staff is polite! Be kind to everyone!!!

Don't like this place, I went in to cash in a gift card and get 50% of the cash and I had a valid I'd and I gave the lady all my correct info filled out the paperwork and she put it all in the computer and then said she was unable to do it because my social security number wasn't coming up in there system and she needed my social security card as well, and of course I don't carry it out me. I don't understand why they would need my social security card to cash I. A gift card that makes no sense at all. I was very disappointed.

I only go here to cash my checks which goes by pretty quick. Can't complain about the fee since you know that's life but when I went on a Friday of course everyone was there since it was pay day and they only had one person working. They only thing about that is she wasn't doing a very good job and got people our as quick as she could.

Worst place!!! Asked if this was my first time there n I said yes. Goes n calls my former employer and starts givin out information. I knock on the window n tell her that she needs to stop and end the call. She keeps answering all the questions like my address, phone no., amount of check etc. I tell her to end the call and she says tells me while on the phone that she won't cash my check then. I said fine just hang up. She hangs up and says she needed to verify things. No they were questioning her, and for another thing she didn't ask me who she should call to verify things. So she just gave out information about me to ppl who have destroyed me. Thanks alot.

Employee was very very rude. Walked into store at 10:02 am and she just started ranting and screaming that “It’s not open yet” “I just got here” blah blah. Not our fault you got to work late. Store opens at 10. Try being a little more respectful

At first I was skeptical going there due to the bad reviews but actually went in to see if I can do a small loan. First off, the lady at the counter didn’t greet me kindly. I don’t know her name. She doesn’t have a name tag on. She told me that I need a phone bill which is by mail. Most bills I pay are online now and continuously with an attitude she said well, you can at least STILL print it out! At this point I’m already upset. NOT what she said but how she said it. Bad customer service! First time here and it’ll be my last.

Best place for western union. In the United States, banks are asking you US resident id even if you are turist.. walgreens has no idea about WU. And they have a limit for 300$ for pickup cash.. In this place I got my money in a minute.. and she was really kind. So don’t look these bad comments..

Terrible service!!! Very rude people! Won’t even let you speak. Kyle and whoever his “supervisor” is are the absolute worst!! I’ll be handling this very soon

IF YOU DESPERATE ... THIS AIN THE PLACE: I walk in...nicely say “I’m here for a loan” ... she has a huge ATTITUDE and says ‘ah I hate doing loans. I need to leave this place’ 🥴 and than on top of it I read the requirements online and printed out all the paperwork they asked for...just to find out that they need XCEL utilities only and if you have loans with other companies they don’t approve you ... okay. Thanks for wasting my time. Maybe that should be on the damn website !
