From the moment I called and spoke to Clarence, I had a great feeling about Stokes. I asked about availability on a certain model, to which he told me they’d give me a call back after they checked. Scott called back within 5 minutes to let me know it was available. I was not able to come in until after 6 and never once felt rushed or pushed out the door. He was honest and patient with my questions. Jesse, the finance manager, was incredibly compassionate and helpful. I really didn’t think I’d leave with a car today, and here I am driving off the lot in a 2022! 10/10 would recommend to anyone looking for a new car!

Stokes is awesome. I grabbed myself a Dodge Dart that works for my budget and had surprisingly decent mileage compared to other places I checked that day. My car broke down while driving through South Carolina on my way to Florida. I had it towed to Stokes VW. I arrived there with less than an hour til close. I was planning on having to get a hotel room and expecting a possible multi day stay and a total derailment of my vacation. Mike and the technician on duty agreed to do a quick troubleshoot of my vehicle. It ended up being a malfunctioning gas gauge. They charged me very little and I was back on the road that evening. I traded-in my car for approximately 26k and I got their certified pre-owned for approximately 15k to get out of car payments. The car made noticeable noise in the rear after 2 weeks of use. 1.5 months later, mechanics diagnosed it with damaged differential and axels. They offered to help by asking me to trade in the car back for 12.5k (15k original value) plus 1 year warranty. They didn’t left me hanging amidst what happened to my car.

My wife and I bought our very first 2021 Atlas from Stokes VW. We worked with Derrick, Pierce, and Vann the sales manager who made the buying experience easier than expected and worked with us to make sure we were comfortable with our purchase. We were there late after they closed once we finished with test drives and then talked price. We never felt rushed during this process and they made us feel like part of the family. During the looking process, we explained to Derrick our intentions that we would take the night to think about it and both Vann and Derrick upfront and understood. Went in the next day and Vann worked his magic to get me at the price payment I needed to be at. Pierce took the time with my wife to show as the features and explained them well. Derrick did the same for me. If I had one complaint it would be I felt a little rushed with the finance person however he is only one person serving the whole dealership so I could imagine he is busy. Recommend hiring another finance manager. Great overall experience.

Our 2019 Atlas had to have the steering column replaced under warranty due to a problem. And during the time it was in the shop David the service manager and Bill a service advisor there bent over backwards to make sure we had a loaner to fit all of our kids! David even got us reimbursed for the first day it was in the shop when we had to rent a van out of pocket because the rental from enterprise they provided us wasn't ready until the second day. I really can't recommend these guys enough!

Worth a grand) Taxes, tag, liabilty, all rolled over into the payments they offered gap insuarnce, and a 6 year warranty I now drive a new jetta and I friggin love it. And the big back seat makes easy to camp (pervert you thought i was gonna say have sex in it!)

We had a great experience 4 yrs ago in 2017 when we purchased a used car. We returned a couple weeks ago with a pre approval letter in hand; we had a particular 5 year old non VW car we wanted. Jesse the salesman was very good and personable. Brandon in finance was awesome. They obtained better financing , with a lower interest rate and I was able to purchase an extended warranty all with lower payments than the pre approval I came in with. We had a tiny glitch 11 days after purchase and they went above and beyond to make things right and make for a positive experience. I will absolutely return when it's time for an upgrade ! Highly recommend !!!

Do not sell your vehicle to stokes VW, you are better off using Carvana or any of the other online sites. I sold my Tesla to them in April after hearing their commercial that they will pay $500 over any online offer (which they only matched the online offer after I rejected their low offer) and they have yet to pay me the balance after paying off the loan. I have been very patient with them throughout this whole process but feel I will continue to get the runaround. I dropped off the requested paperwork this past weekend expecting the check and was told they did not have anyone from accounting in the office until Monday, today and was informed they do not have anyone authorized to cut a check until possibly next week. How do you not have anyone available to cut a check at a major car dealership??

I went to Stokes looking for a pre-owned vehicle. I had a price range in mind. My salesman was Scott Patton. We looked on the lot and found some nice SUVs but above my price range. He went in to check on his computer and something had recently come in right at my price range. He did great and took that extra mile to get me exactly what I was looking for. Great job! Overall my experience with Stokes VW was very good! Blair was the sales rep who worked with me to purchase my 2021 Tiguan. I really appreciated his knowledge of the vehicles and their overall features. Stokes was actually able to provide me with a better interest rate than my pre-approved loan. Also, Brandon in Finance did a great job in wrapping things up quickly. We had intended to arrive earlier in the evening, but arrived about 45 minutes before closing. I appreciate everyone who worked late to complete the process. The only thing that keeps this review from being a 5 star relates to the Sales Rep. I didn't like the fact that when we drove in, I was met at my car before I'd even had a chance to exit it. Also, since it was so late, I needed to come back in the morning for the vehicle to be detailed (which is very understandable!). The night I left, Blair said he would go over the features of the vehicle at that time. I wasn't expecting that but thought it was a nice touch. The next morning the features explanation interaction felt abrupt and barely covered anything. I would have preferred to expect to learn things on my own. All in all, I would not hesitate to come back or recommend them.

I stole a new to me car from Scott Patton and Mike Mazell! They let it happen for a nominal fee. I suggest everyone test drive a car from Stokes VW. Best service around and no haggling. I even have to give props to the dude detailing the cars because he is the one that caused me to like the color of my new car. If you tell them what you can spend they will line up the cars in your price range across the front of the lot for you. Shoot straight, that’s imperative.

The service manager, Dave, and service team made sure the car was repaired, tested, and in excellent condition before she got on the road. The customer service at Stokes is impeccable, starting with the GM! Now, I’ll admit they are a bit pricey. But I would rather take the car to Stokes VW repair/dealership and know they will get the job done right the first time and they stand behind their work!

Although the staff in the service department are very helpful and friendly, take caution when buying their services and parts. They have an extreme markup on most of their parts. Any part that you purchase can be looked up with VW for the actual retail price Volkswagen sells it for. Don’t be fooled!

After coming early morning yesterday for an oil change service, I was told there was a back up of 2 to 3 hours. I called at 2 pm they were still in back up of 3 hours. I decided to come by at 5.20 pm today, and Derrick, the manager started by telling me the technicians were about to go home but he smiled at me and said (when I explained him that I had been trying to get the oil change for a few days and that I needed to take a road trip north tomorrow but not without a service needed😨) he went out of his way and asks the last technician « Danny » if he could do me the favor. And Danny said « no problem » 5.30 pm on Tuesday (closing at 6 pm) and my car is in for oil change. The entire team at Stokes is great, and Derrick is the sweetest Southern man. 😉 I purchased 2 Jetta at Stokes and always brought my car for service ever since. Stokes is busy but I got such a nice welcome and MIDAS would not do an oil change on my Jetta, although they gave me an appointment for a certain time and when they saw my Jetta they said they would not service a European car😱discrimination ??or not taking any risks or liabilities ??? Anyway thanks for the wonderful dedicated people at VW Stokes on Ashley Phosphate, Summerville, SC. Derrick, Danny and Mike, I would not go anywhere else because the best experience for car service is definitely here at Stokes with the most wonderful staff.

We purchased a 2022 Passat Limited from Parris at Stokes Volkswagen. The experience was first rate from beginning to end! Let me explain: First of all, we found the car online through a search and called the dealership. We had been looking locally and online for over 2 weeks with no success. We were connected with Parris and explained our situation and that we were calling from out of state. Parris made thorough videos of the 2 available cars, prepared all the paperwork ahead of time and had the car we selected detailed and ready. We drove from Charlotte to Charleston the next morning and were on our way home with the new car within an hour, as we had explained to Parris that we had another appointment back in Charlotte. Everyone we dealt with was polite and professional. We highly recommend Parris and Stokes Volkswagen.

I didn't buy my car here, I drive a TDI Passat, and I love my car. But the other day, when I couldn't get the Diesel pump handle in the tank to deliver gas, I about died. I Googled, I YouTubed-like any good person would do. The metal piece wouldn't move from in front of my tank entrance. I even tried two different gas stations, same thing, the metal plate wouldn't move. So, with some reluctance, I drove over to Stokes. I knew this was going to cost me an arm and a leg. That's where I met Derrick, in the Service Dept. He was just as shocked as I was with it, said he had never seen that, but he did state he was pretty new in the service dept., that he had been in sales. The gas hoses at the two stations I had stopped at were not the right size, that was the problem. At any rate, Derrick was great!! He was so friendly and kind. I will DEFINTELY be going back to Stokes when work needs to be done on my car. This experience has sealed the deal for me. Thank you!

They have a radio ad playing right now, encouraging you not to sell your car to Carmax and instead sell to them as they’ll beat any price by $500. Well, we took them up on it. Stokes offered us $2,000 less than Carmax. When we called Stokes from Carmax, Tony said ‘well that’s a good offer’ and then hung up. They won’t match what Carmax will offer you, and you’ll sit at Stokes for almost two hours while they try and lower your selling price by citing normal wear and tear. Carmax held up their end of the deal and didn’t deduct a penny from the initial estimate they gave us. Last straw was Tony trying to threaten us that if we drove to Carmax, it would lower his offer price. Shameful and disgusting tactics by Tony. I’ll never shop there again.

I love VW, but even on my second four-year lease, these people are the most helpful and welcoming VW people I have ever interacted with. The middle of my Tiguan basically fell out, and the manager was so calm and reassured me it would be okay, and I appreciated that so much. I am unsure if his name was Dave, David, or something else, but I feel I owe him the shirt off my back. I also thought of mentioning Derrick Branton, who helped me because he was very kind and went out of his way to get me water while I waited. I am a new up-and-coming professional. I just graduated from UofSC with my Master's in Social Work and moved here from Columbia, where the VW refused to see me whenever I tried to schedule service appointments due to the high volume of customers. However, the VW here appears to be the chick-fil-a of Volkswagon in the area (I've been to East Coast VW in MB and the one in Mount Pleasant), and I think this one is officially the VW I am going to come back to for all my services. After the test ride we asked if we could see another vehicle in which Parris was more than happy to do, because of Parris professionalism and great attitude we were able to come to the table and sign the papers for a used Tiguan.

HIGHEST Prices I have seen for a used 19 and new 22 anywhere in this country via google searches. This management needs to be replaced with their rip off pricing. The new 22 GTI S is being sold at every other VW dealer in America for $31,000 to $33,000 before a small rip off market adjustment. The 19 GTI is going for $25-29k nationwide. Stokes VW is out to get you people! If you people here in SC keep buying from them, there is no slowing them down

This review has been updated 8 months post car purchase. I purchased an ID4 in September of 2021that I had already ordered and customized online. I went in just to buy the car that I already ordered and it still took me 4 hours. If you have a trade in, save yourself some heartache and don't count on getting the best dollar for it here. Previously my husband ended up not getting his VW here because they undervalued his trade by almost 5000. He got that value elsewhere. They also severely undervalued my trade in, and I almost had to walk away to sell my car elsewhere. *Miraculously* the bottom line ended up working out after all. I just truly do not understand why it had to be such a process not only for myself, but for the sales rep going back and forth. It's unnecessary and irritating. The actual buying a car portion was easy as pie and overall pleasant. Just avoid trading in your vehicle here if you can. That department isn't going to give you what you could easily get elsewhere. With the purchase of an ID4 online there is a 500 dollar deposit. They did not apply it to the car and it took me 8 months to track down my own money to get it reimbursed. When they did get the check written it was availabile for pickup at their Honda dealership. My money from VW ended up at a Honda dealership 8 months later and nobody thought to just mail this check? The service department at Stokes is an absolute NIGHTMARE. Please save your sanity and just go literally anywhere else. My husband has been attempting to get maintenance for his golf there and every time its been migraine inducing. We're patient people but the lack of respect for time and the blatent lying about when parts will arrive when in fact they haven't even been ordered is just too much. Small fixes, normal yearly maintenance, oil changes, and especially tire changes are all somehow a problem at Stokes so just save yourself the heartache and avoid it because they have no interest in making things right.

Bill Hino in the Service Department at Stokes VW is WONDERFUL! My wife, dog and I were on a road trip from New Jersey to Florida when our water pump exploded and we were gushing coolant on I-95 about 75 miles North of Charleston. We had about two hours of daylight left and we were calling dealers in a panic. I was able to keep buying coolant (6-gallons) to keep topping it off to limp the car into the dealer. We got to the dealer at ten minutes to 5 PM and Bill greets me with "You must be Kevin," which really reassured me we were in the right place. He even offered to arrange a safe hotel for us but we opted to rent a car and keep going. Despite being booked for a month, Bill had my car fixed in two business days and arranged to have my car shipped to my destination in Florida for a very reasonable price. Every thing was straight forward and reasonable. No list of other items that needed to be fixed, or upsell items. Pricing very reasonable.
