Sea Ranch Motel Lake Park Blvd, Carolina Beach

Been here on more than a few occasions over the years and have always had a good experience. Staff has always been gracious, and the rooms are clean. However, I'm a bit disappointed that they have yet to update the lodgings. I love the easy access to the beach and the private patio with rockers, but unfortunately I am NOT looking forward to another night on the lumpy mattress that we endured last night. I can get past the outdated look, but not old linen and a mattress that feels as if it were one of the original pieces of furniture that was here on opening day.

I wish there was a zero. I have been staying at the Sea Ranch for years because it is ocean front and reasonable. I took a lone vacation in August 2020 and caught Covid from the room. I had not been around anyone and brought all my meals that I have specially shipped because of a heart condition. I arrived Saturday and by Tuesday I was so ill I couldn’t move from the bed. I forced myself to eat and when I did, the most enormous cockroach ran from beneath the microwave into a drawer. I had no energy to care. I was seen and confirmed positive while I was there and since I have heart issues used my oxygen on 6 liters to stay out of the hospital as I slept the days away. The room wasn’t nearly as clean as I am used to. Sadly I will never ever stay there again. I had no vacation. They don’t seem to be at all interested in even basic maintenance anymore.

Absolutely LOVED this place! Sits right on the beach. We stayed on the 2nd floor with the ocean view and it was amazing! The rooms are not updated which doesn't bother me a bit because they were very clean! What the rooms lacked in updates, they more than made up for in size! The rooms were huge! Friendly, helpful staff. We will be making this an annual destination!

We stayed August 1-8, 2021this was the 3rd year staying here and 2nd time in room 104 and loved every minute of it. 2 pools to choose from and just a short walk to the beach. Nice porch area with rocking chairs to sit and read when it was raining. A short walk to many things especially since you had to pay for parking when going to the main areas. We miss you already and look forward to booking our trip for next year. Our room was nothing fancy but just what we needed for a much needed relaxing trip.

Been coming here for 10+ years and it’s always great. The staff is very accommodating and you can’t beat the location. We always feel very safe. It’s just steps from the ocean and a short walk to the boardwalk. Couldn’t imagine staying anywhere else!

If I could have given them a 0 I would have! We spent more time without AC than with. They do not change their bedding between guest per their employees because the manager is too cheap. There were roaches in our room and no not water bugs. I have reached out to the owner who will NOT return my call. They have part closed down for bedbugs which we didn’t find out about until an employee told us on our last night there. Our room smelled like mold and mildew. Over all this is a rotten place to stay!

We stayed at the Sea Ranch Motel...yes I said Motel, for the wknd and the rm we had is an old rm but it was clean. Very spacious! But the best thing was the view! We were in rm 234 and I tell you the view was spectacular!!! Like I said it's not an updated Motel by any means but who cares when you can sit on the balcony and just look at that view! We had a great time! I will be back at the Sea Ranch Motel, if I can always have that view! Oh! And they have 2 pools!

The value for the location and proximity to the beach can’t be beat for the price. Walkable to everything you need. Very clean, quiet, and all basics provided. The staff is very kind and polite. Would highly recommend.

Initially started off as a wonderful trip. Staff was very accommodating to our late check-in time. However, during our last morning on vacation prior to leaving, I noticed a bug in my ear. Upon further inspection, my family and I realized it was a bed bug. We stripped the bed and conducted a thorough search and observed other live bedbugs on/around the bed and bedding. Upon vacating the room, we informed staff. They advised us that they would “look into it”. For future guests: should you still decide to stay at the Sea Ranch Motel, thoroughly inspect the bed and bedding prior to moving any bags/luggage into the room.

I love this place!!! I am able to go alone, feel perfectly safe, rooms are nice, pools are nice, the employees are great. I hope to always do my alone vacations here.

2 adults 3kids 3 night stay. Management was very nice and attentive. Beach front with access was great. 2 pools and a jacuzzi. Rooms were dated (ours only had a stand up shower, no tub), carpet felt sticky on bare feet, there was a splatter stain on the wall that looked like blood (little scary). We had room with kitchen, small standard refrigerator, microwave, and storage space, all came in very handy. We brought a small George forman cooker for hotdogs. Maids took out trash but didn't make beds. Over all it was an ok motel, definitely not the Hilton but I've seen alot worse.

Nice place to stay. Friendly, relaxing, clean. Staff was very attentive offering extra towels n helpful overall. We had oceanfront w/ kitchen. Beautiful view of the ocean. Was very helpful in meeting our needs for my granddaughter that has walking issues. 2 pools, ample parking, swings for kids, washer/dryer room. We will certainly be back for another visit.

We were pool side, second floor near the beach. No wifi in that area, you have to go to the parking lot to check work email. No complimentary bar soap to wash your hands, so stop by Walgreens on you way in...

Beautiful location, great views. Very friendly and fast service. This motel does nightly as well, unlike the neighbors who have a 2 night minimum stay. Rooms are clean and simple with a little age but kept up. Best bang for the buck during season.

Sand on the bathroom floor and carpet. Black smears on bath towel. Bed linens were dingy and did not feel clean. Paid $187.00 for one night. NEVER again! On top of that the young man who checked me in had a attitude!

The room was clean, nice big room, beds were comfortable, wish the bathroom had a tub/shower combo and the patio door needed some work done.

If I could give this rating a zero I definitely would. My room was super hot and also smelled like death. Hairs all over the bed sheets. lots and lots of roaches and ants everywhere! Floor is absolutely disgusting, and the shower is very small not even worth showering in it. I got out of the shower went the get a towel there were two bug on the floor and one inside of my towel. I DO NOT RECOMMEND STAYING HERE.

A nice little Motel right on the ocean. No, it's not a resort and the rooms aren't super fancy, but it's clean and the staff is very nice and accommodating. Let's be real, you're here for the beach anyway, how fancy of a room do you need? The ocean view rooms are literally right next to the beach and include cute rocking chairs to sit out on the deck. Everything you want is walking distance. We booked last minute on a whim, but I'd totally stay here again.

This was the first time we stayed at the Sea Ranch & honestly I have mixed feelings about it. We usually stay somewhere else but it was booked this time so we gave this motel a chance. Upon arrival, the receptionist ( who was extremely polite/friendly) informed me that the jacuzzi was not working & immediately gave me the option to cancel w/o penalty or stay & receive 10% off of my reservation. I did appreciate this offer & we decided to stay. We stayed in room 338 & it was very roomy w/ regular sized( not dorm sized) refrigerator, microwave, sink, & keurig coffee maker. It was ocean view with a nice balcony with two rocking chairs & also a line to hang wet towels & such. The room was carpeted which I dislike very much. I think any room at the beach should be tile or hardwood due to sand accumulation. The bathroom is tiny. The shower is basically the size of one you would find in a RV & there is no bathtub. Also, sometimes the water would only be lukewarm & it really had to do with timing. Honestly, I hated the bathroom. The room is dated with old school wood paneling & such but that didn’t really bother me but management really needs to find a way to make the bathrooms more user friendly. Maybe a tiered towel rack over the toilet, etc to make most of the lack of room. Also, the towel hangers were dinged & one was sort of coming out of the wall. I didn’t like that I couldn’t adjust the shower head & it would only spray in one spot. As a women, I shave in the shower & it was tricky in this one. If you are a larger size person or taller( I am 5’2” ) you may want to ask if there is another room with a bigger/taller shower. The room was sort of clean but I wasn’t impressed. I wiped down a lot of areas when we first arrived with my Lysol wipes & the floors were still dirty. The sheets had stains & so did the towels. Kind of icky. I am sure they were washed but the stains just gross me out. I would have liked the towels to smell cleaner (like freshly laundered bleach smell) but they didn’t & they were quite thin/worn. There is no elevator here so be ready to climb the steps. Also, no charging ports for cell phones so you will need a wall outlet phone charger. The flat screen tv was very small & had a line through the picture. The pools seemed nice enough but we didn’t use them as we basically hung out at the beach. They have an ice machine but you have to pay .25 for ice however you get a good amount so not too bad. They have a washer & dryer on property that was free to use & I definitely took advantage of it. This motel is in a good location but really could use some updates & a DEEP clean. The maid staff is very nice & made sure to bring us plenty of fresh towels, extra coffee, & take out our trash every day, but no other services were offered so I’m not sure if they perform other services during your stay. So it really is a mixed review for me. Not sure I will be back but it was okay. The parking is a bit tight on site but you are given a tag to put on your dashboard for your stay. Unfortunately, you have to pay to park just about every where else in CB which I absolutely hate & may be a deterrent for me & my family coming back in the future.

I'll give it 4 stars because of the friendly staff but the place could really use some heavy duty floor cleaning. White socks left brown in just a couple hours normal use had us wearing our shoes the entire time. I do like the fact that it has a beach access and it is in a great location.

We stayed at this motel in August 2020 looking for an ocean get away in the midst of the pandemic. Staff was very friendly for check-in and accommodated requests throughout the week. We got an efficiency room on the first floor with an ocean view (well, we couldn't really see the ocean from our balcony but I'm sure floors 2 and above had great views). This place is super close to the beach. No matter what room you are in, you can get from room to beach in under 5 mins. The rooms are definitely dated even though you can tell they've tried to update parts through the years. The rooms felt relatively clean but the linens definitely showed signs of wear (sheets had stains and towels had a brown tinge to them). All of the appliances in the efficiency worked well and we were able to cook all of our meals vs. eating out. I would, however, wash any of the utensils or plates before using as they seem to leave it to each guest to ensure the dishes are washed prior to departure. There is an ice cream place across the street too which was a plus! This motel was great for being close to the beach and providing a budget vacation. We would probably return again for an inexpensive beach vacation.

Labor Day weekend, we stayed 3 nights with our family. Check in was a breeze, we had a military family member arrive from Cherry Point and they accommodated getting us another parking pass for her vehicle. Office staff was very nice, our room was spacious; we had a double bed but I think we just got lucky because our room was right above the office. We had housekeeping staff come every morning at about 9am to take dirty linen and give us fresh towels. The room itself was pretty clean other than some stains on the comforter. The beds were a little hard to sleep on but bearable. A big plus was they had 2 pool and a hot tub, we took advantage of it! And they looked clean and up kept. Direct beach access from the motel, they have an ice machine for .25 and we used about .75 to fill up our cooler. There are rocking chairs outside each room to relax on. Pretty good stay for the price! Probably will be back!

To be honest, I was going to leave a bad review because when we got here the pool and jacuzzi was closed. Which would have factored if I rented here or not. Especially for the price we paid. Then the AC was out and the first night was super hot. The receptionist spent awhile on the phone trying to talk with the manager. She brought us a fan that night. The next morning the manager came to our room. He was super nice. He changed our AC out. Gave us half off of our room and just their willingness to help has made us a customer for life. It is right on the beach with its own little beach area. Isn't over crowded. Within walking distance of everything too. I definitely won't be going anywhere else from now on but here!!

There is a sign in the main office that says "Welcome to paradise." I don't know the mental state of the mystery sign hanger but that sign is definitely ironic. I'll start with the good. The staff we met were very pleasant and genuinely seemed like they wanted to help. The location is also good and the views from the ocean-front rooms are really beautiful. Now for the bad. It seemed like every piece of bedding in our room had at least one very obvious stain (see picture) on it. There were badly patched holes in the walls, I found the severed leg of a very large insect (cockroach maybe?) in the bathroom, some doors were damaged and had pieces missing, and other doors were a struggle to open. Almost anything metal had patches of rust on it, the fixtures in the bathroom were temperamental, I found items from a previous guest still in the room, and even the mirror in the bathroom was damaged and losing its reflectivity - the one job of a mirror. I feel like the owners of these buildings are trying to do the absolute bare minimum to get by and shake money out of the property. In this situation we feel less like guests and more like victims who just happened to need somewhere to stay and stumbled on this rotting property next to a beach. Don't be fooled by the sign; unless you enjoy sleeping in a dingy, poorly maintained room on-top of and under other peoples stains, then this isn't paradise.

Over all was okay for what it was. Good things were they had 2 pools with a jacuzzi and private beach access. They also had a big room for the 4 of us and really good ac. The bad things were no hot water for shower, and the towels were not clean, well they had stains on them. Not acceptable.

My husband and I just spent 4 relaxing nights there. The hotel is rustic, but clean and well managed. It's great to have a kitchen. We loved the rocking chairs on our small private deck looking out onto the ocean.The staff are friendly. The beach is beautiful and not crowded. The pools were clean. We only swam in the heated pool-too cold this time of year for the other one. There are plenty of great restaurants in the area, some within walking distance. We will be back.

This hotel was CLEAN, CONVENIENT, AFFORDABLE, AND THE WASHER/DRYER WAS FREEEEE!! Our favorite part was the two pools! There was easy access to the beach, even our Domino's Pizza was delivered in less than 30 minutes because it's a mile down the road. The staff was friendly and helpful! I loved the rocking chairs that sat on the balcony so my husband and I could watch the sun go down on the ocean! It was so beautiful. The rooms were clean and at even had a kitchen! The kitchen had a stove, microwave, refrigerator, and table with chairs! The beds and pillows were very comfortable! We will definitely be going back! The larger pool was enclosed and you needed the key to get in! They even have a heated Jacuzzi!! That would be so impressed and also there were pool noodles out there that our kids could play with! I will recommend this hotel to anyone!
