As a first time home buyer, I was shocked at how easy this process actually was! Thanks to the Chris Harris Team at Legacy Mortgage. I had initially started with a different lender who was unable to provide the type of loan I was looking for. Within less than 10 minutes of speaking to Chris, we decided on what kind of loan was most suitable for me and started the process. Within 10 days of our first discussion- I was all set to close on my house! This is almost completely unheard of in the market today. Chris and his team were so friendly and efficient, I couldn’t imagine working with anyone else. First time home buyer or not- this company/team is the best option to guide you through the process all while being completely transparent and personable. Cannot thank them enough!

My introduction with Ron told me I was working with a professional who wanted to find out how I could purchase my first home at the pleasant age of 53. A history of student loans, and a difficult salary explanation, I explained to Ron that my situation would be difficult. Ron took the challenge and with-in 30 days, I closed on my new home. I was really impressed with Legacy Mortgage considering you're getting a mortgage... but everything was explained to me very well, I received constant updates throughout the whole process, it was super quick, and everything was done electronically with the exception of the closing which made it easy to work around my work schedule. I was dreaming of home ownership and thought the process would be complicated. The Harris Team made it easy! The process was straightforward with no hidden surprises. I had a lot of questions along the way and the team always responded promptly and courteously. I definitely recommend 😊

For my home purchase I wanted to close quickly, my loan was easy, and I didn’t trust the online companies with speed and reliability. So, I shopped 4 Michigan mortgage companies for rates (asked them for their best) and compared the numbers, and showed them to my family who are very experienced loan officers/managers in other states. They said to go with this place hands down without question based on the upfront and transparent costs breakdown and rate. I honestly expected to bring several thousand more to closing because the other places were charging so much for their own fees. So, after I’ve closed and it’s all done, based on the quick pre approval, clear to close, actual closing, and them being excellent communicators along the way, they for sure get a 5 star review. Chris, Meagan, and Paige were all thorough, nice, and fast. Questions were answered pleasantly and efficiently - the way I needed them to be. There were no lapses in communication and they always returned any calls, but they usually picked up. Emails were promptly responded to, and all documents were reviewed the same day. Nothing was held up by them once. It was also great that all of the documents could be uploaded and signed electronically. Anyway, what’s an honest review without some constructive criticism though? The only thing that comes to my mind that might not have been so perfect was that part way through I’d changed my mind and didn’t want to escrow my taxes and insurance while on the phone afterhours with them, and the change wasn’t reflected when I reviewed the first version of the closing disclosure with the final numbers on it. However, once I pointed that out, they had it revised and back to me and matching with the title company in… 8 minutes! This was easily the fastest and simplest closing I’ve done, and I don’t feel like I overpaid some random salesman for his commission. Thanks everyone at Legacy for making it a smooth process and closing! [If you’re curious… In comparison, the other companies that I was considering bragged about how many Tesla stock shares they had on the first call with me, mixed odd high prices into the closing cost details, and called me multiple times after I told them I was already going with Legacy. To top it off, one of them claimed he was the best in Grand Rapids, and that he'd never been rate shopped before nor lost to anyone, and so he then dishonestly offered to lower the rate to get my business after I’d originally requested their best estimate on the first call. After acting like I’d bite, it was clear that they were offsetting the lower rate by adding thousands to the cash to close. Which, by the way, I ran that idea by Legacy, and Legacy beat that other company on that too.]
