In a panic after experiencing identity theft, I signed up for their credit monitoring. After a few days, I went online and canceled it as I decided I didn’t need it. As a victim of identity theft, I’m entitled to extra free credit reports. Their website said the cancellation was confirmed. A few months later, I noticed they had charged me three months in a row on my bank statement. They had sent me no receipt, emails, or notice of any kind that I was being charged. When I called and asked to be refunded, they initially hung up on me, then after calling back and asking someone else, was refused. As soon as they canceled the service on the phone (for the second time), I suddenly started getting multiple emails A DAY from this company. Why couldn’t they have emailed me when they were charging me? Very untrustworthy company. I will never use any of their services again.

What a nightmare. Got my credit report through them and apparently they sold my contact info. Not an exaggeration, I got over 50 spam calls for lenders ,creditors, etc in ONE DAY. Never again

Experian, one of THREE major credit reporting agencies, appears to give lower credit scores to consumers who DON'T subscribe to their credit reporting & score improving services. TransUnion & Equifax, the other two major credit reporting agencies, calculate my credit score as EXCELLENT. Experian calculates my credit score as VERY GOOD; approx 50 points LOWER than the other two credit reporting agencies. WHY? Experian constantly encourages consumers to purchase their credit score improvement services (also advertised on TV). I REFUSE TO PURCHASE Experian's service. However, Experian CLAIMS their services will AUTOMATICALLY INCREASE your credit score, particularly their "Experian BOOST". What the HELL is that? Sounds like EXTORTION/BLACKMAIL to me. Purchase our Experian credit services & we will AUTOMATICALLY increase your credit score? Hmmm 🤔 No thank you, Experian. I simply IGNORE & don't put much weight on my VERY GOOD credit score by Experian. I DON'T NEED Experian's credit score to obtain credit. I have MORE CONFIDENCE with my credit score rating of EXCELLENT by TransUnion & Equifax. BTW, TransUnion & Equifax NEVER solicits me for MONEY in EXCHANGE for a HIGHER CREDIT SCORE from them. Experian must be INVESTIGATED by the appropriate government agency. It clearly appears they are EXTORTING/BLACKMAILING consumers in exchange for a HIGHER CREDIT SCORE with their "Experian BOOST" product. I have read reviews by consumers who HAVE purchased services from Experian. They write the "Experian BOOST" did LITTLE TO NOTHING to improve their credit score. I recommend consumers avoid this Experian "BOOST" SCAM. CROOKS?

Completely useless and unnecessary. Experian makes accessing the data that they collect on you extremely difficult and, in some cases, impossible. They engage in dishonest practices and openly lie on their website. Do not trust them and do not volunteer any more of your information to them than they already have access to. They will work against your interests to make a buck.

You have an account but haven't logged in for a long time, when you need to log in, if you no longer use the phone number you left before, you can no longer log in because their calls will never be answered, you can only Talk to the robot all afternoon, looping.

Made a complaint to BBB about Experian and their fraudulent use of Boost to steal people's data. The very next day, my Experian score dropped 15 pts with zero change to my credit report. Just be careful when speaking out against Experian. They will crush your ability to buy a home out of revenge. Also, I did get one of their higher-ups to admit that they have a known issue with Boost that they're trying to fix. Yet it's been over a year and a half and they still haven't fixed it. They are keeping it "broken" on purpose so that you have no way to manage their access to your purchase history, which they are undoubtedly selling to the highest bidder.

I upgraded to the premium plan in order to add my wife to my account. We had one of the membership people step us through the process. My wife was not able to get enrolled and account was pending and then cancelled. It's been two weeks and at least 20 phone calls with 3 documented case numbers and escalations and still no contact with anyone to help get account open. Very unprofessional and truly do not trust this company with my confidential data. I have called 100 times to get through 20 times to a live person. The other 80 times i was disconnected by their computer automated answering service.

There is a data entry error at Experian for my birthdate. Don't know how it happened but there is ZERO way of reaching anyone unless you give your correct birthdate. (I don't know what error they have on record.) For years I've had a freeze where a myriad of professionals have not been able to figure it out. I'm always told to contact toll-free numbers that won't let me use their services unless . . . you give your birthdate. Ruining my life.

Signed up for a membership - free at first and upgraded to paid for one month but found no useful services. Tried to have my credit card info removed, but the customer service rep refused (which is ironic for a credit reporting agency). Although she did not offer this, I eventually discovered that they were willing to cancel my free account, which they pledged would result in my card info not being kept on their server.

This company needs to be shut down and not allowed to play with U.S. citizens credit report. After all they are from the UK. Experian loves to lie about peoples credit report when checked, especially when it comes to home loans, Hmmm are they trying to control who gets to buy a house and who doesnt. Under the fair credit reporting laws this company is guilty of violating every law there is and they will PAY for it. Not a threat, but a promise.
