Had a truck approved for fince with them. Waited a month didn't hear anything. Called and called and never a return call. Come to find out that they sold out and never let me know. Know I'm glad I didn't do anything with them. I hope the new company dose better then these guys did. Glad after looking I didn't do anything with them. They need to get there act together. Hopefully soon they will become a better place to deal with. They're growing to fast and not taking care of the people. There's needs to be a personal feeling for this place to help and not make even a number. That's the bad part of the company.

Poor loan execution and post-loan service. I did one franchise loan with Balboa. They promise the world, talk a good game, but they fail to deliver. They employ guys in their early 20s who don't understand lending. I get a solicitation call every few months. Always a different guy. High turnover. Loan service department is a bit better.

I have worked with Balboa on equipment financing several times and I find them to be pleasant, professional and efficient! Highly recommend them.

I can tell you I was constantly told to LIE TO and MISLEAD Balboa Capital customers about many aspects of their loan contracts! They will keep customer deposits made before you received funds even if you decide NOT to move forward with the loan, mislead how much you will owe at the end of your contracts and give false rates to make you believe you are paying far less than you actually are! THIS COMPANY IS ABSOLUTELY AWFUL both to employees and customers alike. Stay far far away and don’t get duped by your smooth talking salesman.

Just got a start-up business equipment loan from this lender. Truly amazing service! Got answer and approval on the next day following application -- that's after being bounced around and declined by others for over a month! I highly recommend Jay Wi as your loan officer at Balboa because he was simply excellent in every aspect and had my loan expedited in a record breaking time. Balboa was very efficient in their funding and helpful with the equipment suppliers to get the payment terms I wanted. I only knock them down to 4 stars because they started out with such s high rate but I was able to get it down with negotiation. However, I was in a time crunch and I think they tried to take advantage of that. Once you've negotiated a good rate, they're a good team to work with despite their internet reviews which scared me at first.

I had the pleasure recently of being serviced by Brandon Solomon. What a relief it was to know that this guy was the one to facilitate my transaction. Typically I am a bit apprehensive about doing business over the phone. Not this time around I didn't even think twice. He was so on the ball so receptive and so genuine that I actually referred my cousin to him because she was looking for financing on a truck for her shop. Balboa Capital I am happy I avoided not financing with you. My intuition was correct right when your sales manager from enterprise first told me my math was wrong and second time asked me if my calculator was the same as his. 1. I worked hard to achieve my masters at warden. Top ranked business school. 2. I operate a lucrative corporation, which I can inform you with private and major banks that state I am not over leveraged, which was Stated to me by the sales manager in enterprise once he realized I figured out his pre-funding and addendums he was adding to the contract. 3. After this I have personally spoken to 30 past employees who range from account executives to managers and sales managers and gained info which lines up with the 13 current employees who are honest and I would actually do business with if it wasn’t for upper management not caring. If you want I am willing to get on the phone and state my facts privately or post links to every piece of data I have gained on reddit. 4. Please be aware if you need to take an unconventional loan from Balboa , if it comes to working capital ( hard money loan) and Balboa Capital is your only option and blue vine cannot help ask for MATT LENT he won’t add tremendous percentages or points and decently honest compared to majority of the sales reps there. I have been receiving calls from balboa over 4 years and only 5 sales managers have ever been honest 1 being Matt lent and 2nd being Field Amudson . But avoid if you can ... build credit other ways and than look for the loan.

Balboa Capital was able to do something my other lenders couldn't-----they got my customer and his small business up and running again. I would like to give a special thanks to the efforts of Heather Veith, one of Balboa's account executives. She just doesn't give up. She made this loan happen. I deal with a number of small to medium business people. I would refer them to Heather and Balboa without reservation.

Balboa capital explained very thoroughly the complete process , was very prompt in returning anwsers to questions in a timely fashion. Was very courteous and helpful in completeing the loan process. This was not the first loan we have received from Balboa. And will most likely not be the last. I would strongly recommend Balboa Capital for funding needs. Most banks are more of a hassle and tons of paper work to complete the same process. Very pleased customer..The gentleman whom assisted me in the financing was Anthony J. Silva. Very explanatory, on the details before signing. Very prompt in keeping myself informed and was prompt in returning calls and emails in a timely fashion. I was a vendor for this company ONE time and that will be the ONLY time. They promised to fund my account 50% upfront (which they did) and the following 50% of the order when the end user received the product. Well it's been 7 months since the customer received his paint booth and I have yet to see the remaining balance of $3400. It seems like you talk to someone different when you are able to actually speak to someone and the same results with no call back. I guess I will have to send them to the collection agencies. If you do use them all I can say is GOOD LUCK. Yes, I was looking for negative stars also.

Glad I read these reviews I was skeptical when my husband was considering doing business w/Balboa and getting a loan for his business. I always research companies but when they were asking for sensitive personal and our banking information. I was like no wait let me check them out and I see all these horrible reviews. Nothing positive or good means they are unethical and possibly a scam since they do get all of your personal info...thanks everyone and We say No to Balboa

We used this company for 3 leases. The proposal looked good and had an interest rate of around 16% which is high, but we we were growing quickly and wanted to conserve cash at the time. Buried in the fine print was a clause we were not aware of that allowed them to charge us "rent" from the time we signed the lease until the time the equipment was approved. Of course there will be some time to get the equipment and approve it, in our case around 2 months. As a result we had to make 14 monthly payment rather than 12, which increased the interest rate from 16% to around 50%. To add insult to injury they also charge a "lease termination fee" of $3,000, and not a $1 buyout as shown on the proposal. Looking at other reviews of this company ( you can find them on ripoff report and many similar places) they are doing the same thing too many other companies. I would never use them again and I am consulting my attorney regarding a class action lawsuit to recover these undisclosed extra charges. They have a A+ rating with the BBB but I do not see how they can maintain this. I am asking for an investigation of this

Working with Greg Gharibyan on a multiple machine purchase was very nice as he was extremely responsive, proactive, and communicative. We will certainly recommend to customers going forward. It was a very pleasant and professional experience.

Absolutely the worst experience I've ever had. We financed a truck through Balboa Capital and I regret ever giving them an opportunity to earn our business. I will never use them again for anything. They charged us a non insurance fee of over $300 even though we have never "ever" had a lapse in insurance. I spoke with 2 different representatives and both were of zero help and had terrible attitudes. Besides being condescending they simply regurgitated their policy of reviewing our insurance certificate which would take 10-14 days "because they're busy". We're all Busy! Bad answer and way of handling a customer service issue. All I was asking for is confirmation that they would be crediting the improper fee and they couldn't even provide that. In addition instead of trying to de-escalate the matter I was told that even if they find that our insurance was always in effect that they may keep the fee as a "penalty" Lastly, they were provided all information requested prior to deducting this fee. Poor way to treat a customer!

I paid off my equipment financing, and I called to make sure it was paid off and the CS rep said I had zero balance and i was done. A month later, today I see a $470 something charge and call and am told it’s a “contract termination” charge…why should I pay a fee for a contract that I paid off!?! I will be warning the few clients I sent over to them, and will not do business with Balboa ever again. Their cs agents must be high on pot as they are clueless when they speak. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH BALBOA- you will regret it!

Never had any problems with this company until I call a few weeks ago. I was calling to ask for extra time on my equipment loan for this month. I'm on automatic withdrawal never missed a payment I'm reading a few reviews an it seems like that's how a few loans are setup, but After getting a few weeks extension extension I was told if I didn't pay they would mark my account delinquent. Long story short the payment was automatic withdrawn 2 weeks later with an ridiculous late fee which no one spoke to me about I've been calling about this for 4 days now finally talk to a representative she picked the phone up disrespectful, had an attitude I spoke she didn't. (How can I help)? She could not tell me why I charged a late fee. I asked to speak with another person since she seemed to be having a bad day. That upset her Her exact words were since you wanna talk to someone else let's see if you can get through hung the phone up I've been calling 4 days now and haven't heard back from anybody left multiple voicemails no one returned my call.

To all the small business out there. I need your help. Please share this nightmare as many times as you can with as many people as possible. This is the only way it can be fixed. We bought a septic pump truck using Balboa Capital. It was like someone was pulling each fingernail off one by one. Absolutely clueless on the process of buying a truck in Texas with the titling laws, the insurance process, and all aspects of what was needed from us. Took over 2 weeks to complete the process. Our insurance agent and the trucking company that we bought the truck through was equally frustrated and said that this was the most painful process they had ever went through. After the process was done now we have to come up with over $2000 to pay for the titling which could have been put in the loan but now due to their lack of knowledge we have to come out of pocket for it. I am grateful for the loan, but it was sure painful. If you use them, go into the process with a reserve of patience. 1/22/20 Update to what they have done to us. We were new at this process when we did this equipment purchase at that time. During the lead up to us choosing Balboa Capital (2 years of cold calling from them), they were offering us capital for equipment financing. We were told that we were getting a $1 lease purchase from them. Meaning we were going to pay a little higher interest rate for them to finance this lease purchase and at the end buy the truck for $1 (This is what the salesman told us). The truck that we found cost $28,500. We were willing to take the higher rate since our company at the time was not able to us banks because we had less than 5 years in business. NOW THIS IS REALLY WHAT WE GOT What we got was a lease agreement from them for 5 years and then we must pay them to buy the truck for fair market value at the end of the lease. So, a $28,500 truck is going to cost us around $80K. I will let public opinion decide if this is even fair. We have contacted lawyers and were told that it is not illegal to sign a bad contract. PLEASE HAVE YOUR GUARD UP WITH BALBOA CAPITAL. Even after doing this to us they still call and try to solicit us for more business because we have a good pay history. I tell them this story and the salesmen tell me that I am not the first time they have heard this from people they are talking to. I then ask them to fix it and the standard reply is, sorry they cannot but going forward they are not like that anymore. In the fine print it says that if we choose not to buy the truck and there is a small window/ time frame to let them know. We also must deliver the truck to them in California and are responsible for all repairs during the lease period. We are in Texas. Update 3-6-2020 We came to a financial agreement, so we are adjusting our review. Updated 5-1-2020 I made a change to this review on 3-6-2020 because Balboa Capital would not send us the tile until we changed the review even though the truck was paid for. I had no choice but to change this review. Once I changed the review, they did overnight the title to the wrong address and it took over a week for Fed Ex to find who this package went to. Fortunately for us one of the drivers knew our company and was able to correct Balboa's screw up. The payoff contract stated we had to have the truck paid for by 2/28/2020 and we did. On March 3 they drafted another payment from our account for over $2000.00. We talked with our bank and they told us to give them time and they should just refund the money. At the 30 day point we disputed the draft and since Balboa did not respond we were told that there is nothing they could do. On 4/17/2020 I sent an email to Balboa without any response. On 4/20/2020 I called corporate and the same person who I sent the email to, answered the phone. She told me that she saw what happened, but it would need to be investigated and that would take 3-5 days. Then after that is would take another 3-5 days for the payment to be returned. AT THIS TIME, WE STILL DO NOT HAVE OUR MONEY BACK.

If he gives you a quote you better take it to the bank! This is a great organization with an awesome leadership team from my experience working with them. A+

Great team! We have obtained several working capital loans through Balboa over the past 5 years. They are fast, effective, competitive but most importantly they won't BS you which is rare in the secondary lending market. If you're looking for a legit lender you wont get a better deal, thanks guys!

Just finished up a second transaction with Balboa Capital in less then a year and I must say the second time was even easier than the first. Doing business with them has been about as simple as it can get in my opinion. I just called my agent Anthony gave him the numbers and the salesman's phone number and the 2 of them worked out all the details. All I had to do was sign the papers and pick up the equipment. Be careful what you sign. Fine print on the contract very confusing. Hire a lawyer to exam it. I asked the salesperson more than 3 times, if the agreement is a loan or lease. Every time he replied that it’s a traditional loan. After a month I found out that the contract was actually a lease. So he lied to me just to make me sign. Called him 100 times but he never answers my calls or replies back to my emails. Costumer service was horrible. They could not help at all, instead told me to keep calling the sales person and resolve the issue with him. He freaking lied to me and I need to resolve it with him? What about the company...? Are they aware that sales people lie to get the contract sign, or maybe that’s how they train them. Stay away from Balboa capital. Google them , and you will find out how many people sued them, including the state of CA.

Worked with balboa to finance not 1 but 2 trucks and they were flawless. Fully financed, and very very easy to work with. They're very technical in making sure not a single digit/letter is off, everything matches and that makes the experience well worth it. Lisa Gargulio is excellent! Very helpful, trustworthy and overall made sure I was happy with my experience. Couldn't be happier.

I had a great experience interacting with Balboa Capital. Specific thanks to Account Manager Mason Moriarty. It is often hard for a small business to get approved for a loan but he made the process simple and was extremely responsive with his follow up. Would highly recommend Balboa Capital.

Our company is in the HVAC industry. We obtained financing for a commercial client. We signed a 50/50% funding agreement with Balboa. Balboa told us the deposit would hit our bank account 5 days ago. We still have not received a deposit and the Regional Manager is non-responsive. Left two voice mails and e emails. Called customer service and the sales dept. Both said they could do nothing, I would have to wait for the Regional Manager to respond. Very disappointed. Won't be offering their services to any other commercial clients we have.

While they have no issues lending, they will make you jump through all their hoops and once they have satisfied their paperwork you are screwed. Less than helpful, unresponsive, and just plain useless to get assisted with title information. I just spoke with the BMV in Ohio and they explained to me that they have instructed Balboa on several occasion's to send a letter requesting physical copy. Balboa said they would send the letter and provide an overnight envelope but never did. They called back in 2 weeks asking the same and never followed through. This company will still get their payment even though we cannot use the vehicle they financed because they don't care FRUSTRATED & AGGRAVATED We will not be using this company for any of our future needs.

11/28/17. Addendum to my post from a month ago. Today the individual named below in my original post called my office threatening legal action unless I remove my post detailing my opinion of his rude treatment from my original call while explaining the misleading and false offer his company made in writing. He went on to taunt me about which State or Federal agency regulates his company when I said I really hadn't had time to go further with a complaint about their false advertising and bait and switch loan program. Then he screamed " but you had time to write a 5 paragraph review". So now I guess I am going to have to take my time to research who regulates them and make a formal complaint since the legal dept will be calling me soon according to Mr Silva. Apparently Mr Silva hasn't learned any manners since our last phone conversation. If I could give negative stars that is what they deserve. And I really believe in my humble opinion that the sunshine and lollipop reviews heralding their wonderful service are phony. I looked on Yelp and found them to have 1 star and few positive reviews. These people are scam artists and very rude. After waiting a sufficient period of time to be contacted and hearing nothing from Balboa Capital, I called to follow up on what was phrased to be a "PRE-APPROVED ,NO PAPERWORK, NO LONG WAITING" line of credit activation I submitted online per their instructions. Sales Manager Anthony Silva came on the line, and was so abrasive and condescending to me, I almost hung up the phone then and there. This turned out to be not a credit line at all, but if I did this, and if I did that, and if the sun sets a certain way at midnight on Friday, they might grant some sort of financing where they will immediately start debiting interest on a daily basis from our operating account. I explained to him that as a 40 year business, with multiple locations, there are many moving parts. Having to now worry that one of a dozen accounts we have is funded for their withdrawal every day was not going to work for us. When I asked more questions, I learned it was not a credit line at all, and that they don't even offer credit lines. So my next call will be to the California and Florida divisions of lending to file a complaint for false advertisement and fraudulent offers. Mr. Silva who claimed to be the Sales Manager then sent me an email with no header, no logo, no company signature of any kind. He spent most of the call arguing that all Banks are now having customers pay their loans back daily and made comments that were frankly unnecessary about why we were borrowing, which by the way was due to debt accrued from a new location we acquired earlier this year. His financial numbers that they had pulled on our company were half a million short of our actual revenue, yet he still continued with the rude attitude. If he is the Sales Manager. I can only imagine how rude his sales people are with this example being set for them. I would stay very far from this company if you are looking to borrow. I went to their corporate site and see their CEO, CFO and COO all have their contact information masked so they clearly don't want to hear about what their employees are doing or how their potential customers are treated.

Purchased a printer for my small business. After almost paying off my loan i was informed that now i could purchase my printer that I just got through paying for, for the same amount I just got done paying for. I will never use this company again ever. What was the point of the loan if I have to repurchase after paying for ???? Is this not double dipping. Customer service is so rude they hang up on you if you question them. They were not this way while I was filling out for my loan but afterwards everything changed. Also don't get to comfortable with who you think is a contact because they will get fired and everything they told you will be told is a lie and they as a company will not stand behind what the other person told you. You will get a huge run around. Also once they tell you a price and you make that payment 2 to 3 times the amount will go up and they will change the amount and tell you that the person who did your loan was wrong and you have to pay the higher amount. this company is a joke

This is a lesson in due diligence. We decided to lease a printer from a local company who used Balboa Capital to fund the purchase. We have had the worst experience over the three years of this lease. Just the like the many other complaints we were charged insurance fees with no notice, charged late fees for billing errors and now are being prevented from returning our equipment. I had anticipated some push back in ending the lease but it has been a total nightmare. Whatever you do, DO NOT use this company. This is the worst business decision I've ever made.

Absolute Shisters! Have a lawyer look over your agreement. We have been in business 50 YEARS and have never had a more upsetting experience. These guys are classic small print guys. They are lucky its a 15-hour drive to their office. We will be upgrading our fleet of 12 forklifts this year using another company. boa is a more fitting name because they are snakes! Don't take my word for it. Look up the other pending lawsuits.
