Central Willamette Credit Union Lancaster Dr, Salem

This credit union is a business partner of our recreational vehicle dealership. We have had two loans with CWCU. Initial processing of both loan documents with regard to automatic payment withdrawals was a disaster; IE: automatic withdrawl paperwork accompanying loan docs not processed, dates of withdrawal not accurately entered and multiple calls over two weeks to branch and customer service phone line gone unanswered. To date no reply. Required drop-in visit to Albany branch drivingfrom Salem (counter staff very helpful), assisted us with correction form, only to once again have corrections not entered by processing unit. This has resulted in errant late payment credit reporting and a variety of fees (ultimately reimbursed). This has required months of effort on our part. All has run smoothly once problems resolved. Unfortunately we will not refer anyone to this financial institution.

The Central Willamette mortgage department doesn’t even deserve 1 star. It was the worst experience. Lack of communication, no follow through and didn’t seem experienced at all. Due to deadlines being missed by them we lost our interest rate and almost lost our home. If it wasn’t for my fiancé keeping on top of things and making sure they were doing their job we would not have our home. Honestly they didn’t deserve to be paid for such poor service. My fiancé did most the work and had to make the calls. Even after everything was escalated to the supervisor she wasn’t much better. I will never recommend Central Willamette to anyone for a home loan. The real estate agents and title company couldn’t understand what was going on either. We can’t wait to refinance.

There customer service is terrible they never answer the phone and don’t seem to try and help when you really need it. They’re on there own schedule. Not happy.

Poor customer service, if your insurance pays part of your car loan n your 2nd insurance takes long to pay the rest off they will not let you know till it affects your credit. I paid the remaining amount and said they would remove late payments and once it was paid, they said they will not remove it so there for it will still affect you, they will lie to your face. I will never trust this credit union again and will never do business with Central Willamette Credit Union ever again.u

I have lived in 6 different countries and 14 states in my life. This is by far the worst financial institution I have ever been involved with. Poor customer service, poor financial assistance information. When it comes to loans, they will lie to you about timelines, credit scores and guidelines to manage your accounts and money, in an effort to keep making you pay them more money. They care very little about customers, or at least ones like me. Do yourselves a favor and take your money elsewhere or they will just manipulate you for as long as they can.

DO NOT TAKE OUT A LOAN WITH THESE PEOPLE. Listen to those one star reviews, I guarantee they are all truthful! TLDR: Getting a loan from here is the worst thing you can do. They lie, cheat, and steal at every opportunity and then blame YOU. My girlfriend and I took out an auto loan and we provided Proof of Insurance (PoI) from day one. We were contacted a few months in by them saying if we did not provide PoI they would attach their insurance to our loan. We sent in two sets of pictures and one PDF over the next week at their requests to resend and change the format of proof. We got a call a few months later saying we owed for their insurance for each month that passed as well as late fees for all but the current month. We again provided them with PoI and were told it would be processed and everything would be refunded into our loan. For 2 YEARS this song and dance repeated. We received only occasional calls saying we owed for their insurance. Not once was it on the bill, the calls mostly came after months of us not being notified (and assuming they finally processed our documents), and they refused to include the insurance payment in our auto pay. It finally took us having our insurance provider contact them for the third time, then multiple follow up calls to the bank, and then calling CWCU's own insurance provider to go over their heads to make sure it would be processed. To top it all off, the list time we were called by their collections person we were told they actually had our PoI on file (but only with a start date of 5 months back) yet they were STILL charging us for their insurance. At best this bank is staffed by an completely incompetent team and managed by people who just don't care. At worst they actively seek out to squeeze every penny from you they can, lie about not receiving documents, and are blatant criminals.

I have been a member for many years and they have always provided me great service.

I got a car loan through them, things were super simple and going smoothly. Then came the issues.... You will email them your proof of insurance MULTIPLE times and they “won’t receive it”, you send it and there’s no communication until you get a letter in the mail, send it again and nothing. Speak to a customer service rep and they say someone will be in contact with me and to get certain paperwork from my insurance agent, so that’s what I do. I have yet to be contacted and they added “extra insurance” because I didn’t have any, increasing my car payments and increasing the amount I owe.

Friendly folks, just the right size office to get plenty of personal attention.

Do NOT use this credit union! I have changed my address with them over 4 times and they still don’t get it right. They charge late fees and tack on insurance rates on car loans with no notice. Even when you have insurance and can prove it. Once I did prove it they sent me a delinquency notice.... they take out payments automatically btw. I called and get the run around. I will never work with them again. It’s been over a month of being jerked around. Save your time go to another credit union.
