I have been a member of this bank for 25 years and have never had issues until Covid. I understand the procedures are changed across the board for everyone but the lobby practices at TFCU are the absolute worst. You sign in for a simple deposit and have to wait in the seating area forever with just a few tellers. I went to just simply deposit a check/cash into my account and waited 45 minutes which I have never experienced. I try to avoid the lobby and use the drive up teller but this time unfortunately required me to be in person. The appointment process is obnoxious with waiting weeks to be seen and when I called to speak with someone over the phone, she couldn’t answer my question and promised to callback but hasn’t. So thank you Dana for failing on your promise to help! I miss the old TFCU where you could walk in, sign in for loan/account questions or simply wait in line for less than 10 minutes for transactions with the same tellers who were kind, friendly and remembered your name. There is no customer service within TFCU’s walls anymore and if things don’t change I’m pretty positive they will lose members in droves.

My husband and I went into the TFCU East to get a car loan. Peter Graziano and Hayley Coleman, despite being busy, were incredibly kind, cordial and professional. The application process was easy to complete. I would definitely recommend TFCU East to any one looking for a loan.

    Response from the owner

Thank you, Terry! We appreciate your kind words and thank you for being a TFCU member!

My husband and I have been here for about two years and thought they were good and so as time went on we started knowing that we were having more and more problems. We had money that was just mysteriously disappear out of our account and they would have no type of idea where the money went and we went to try to get a loan which we have already done two times previously and never had any problems until this last time we went with no information changed other than our jobs My husband and I have been here for about two years and thought they were good and so as time went on we started knowing that we were having more and more problems. We had money that was just mysteriously disappear out of our account and they would have no type of idea where the money went and we went to try to get a loan which we have already done two times previously and never had any problems until this last time we went with no information changed other than our jobsAnd they said there was nothing they could do to help us even though we made all of our payments on time for the last two loans and even paid them off early. I do not recommend this bank they do not cover their people for anything. Not to mention trying to get anyone on the phone is like pulling teeth

My account was hacked twice with in a week. My card was suppose to be frozen. Got a call within the week for a fraudulent charge. As soon as I started to ask question about what i could do to avoid this from happening they hung up on me twice. Poor bank security and customer service.

Applied for a car loan, not even a large one. They wanted paystubs. I am my bosses only employee and he just writes out my pay stubs because there is no point in spending money on payroll software for one employee. Well that was wasn't good enough. I offered bank statements, W-2's, and info to contact my boss to prove income. Still not good enough. My car took a dump unexceptionally and I have a baby due any day and they weren't willing to work with me one bit. I really hope they work better with the next person.

Great Service, convenient location. Additionally, the mobile banking options were very convenient and easy to use. Adres was an amazing loan officer and made the process about as smooth as it could be. I have had a great experience. Thanks, TFCU!

Worst experience EVER ... you guys should be more user friendly, a mission to get something done. And scheduling is 3 weeks out mon-fri. Horrible experience you guys lost a loan I got from quebedeaux GMC for $61,000, TFCU had offered me the lowest interest rate but I refused and wen't with ally financial... didn't care there rate was 1% higher than what TFCU was offering... Pride! Three reasons 1. Non-Usage Fees????? 2. Closing accounts is a mission and a half... not good experience. 3. D all of the above made me refuse a lower interest rate I had been offered by dealership to finance with TFCU. Years ago I was going through financial stress and TFCU helped me get a title loan and made me open a Savings account (I didn't want) never used by the way, also I decided to opened a credit card. Paid everything off the auto loan and credit card balance completely. STARTED getting better credit card offers with rewards, something TFCU was not offering. Put the Credit card in my safe and stop using it. Two years later Started receiving notices I've been missing for 3 months... no call at all by the way, just by email in regards to statements. Found it odd when I had a zero balance. TFCU turns out was charging me non-usage fees, I've never heard that... Shocked they wouldn't just close it... could I charge being a customer fee? Or keeping card in safe fee??? Just trying to understand. It gets worse, To close the account was the world's hardest process ever made! I called to set up an appointment cuz of covid yall have restrictions.... blah blah I followed them scheduling 3 weeks from then... but it was the end of the month so they were going to charge me again non-Usage fees. FML... rep. Stated I needed to do it over online that she couldn't help... I DOC-sign everything and submitted... this bank forgot to close my savings and then my savings account (I never used) was charging me fees for not having multiple accounts with them. Was over it...you guys are not helpful. TOOK ME 3 MONTHS. SEPTEMBER AND ALREADY IN DECEMBER REQUESTING THIS.

Flat out incompetent. The necessary level of adult supervision is noticeably lacking. Please note that this organization IS NOT REGULATED by the Arizona Department of Financial Institutions as are Vantage West and other Credit Unions where grown-ups work. On more than one occasion they "lost" money I have on deposit. What was visible in the account in the morning was unavailable in the afternoon. We're talking about a healthy four figure balance, not just a few dozen dollars. On a prior occasion, two years earlier, I only just asked them to adhere to basic AZ State laws which I showed in writing to a member of management. He responded that if I continued to be unreasonable, they would close my account (insinuating they would seize my assets.) This outfit can only be surviving due to a very naive customer base with very low expectations of competence or business ethics. Staff turnover is extremely high. This is formerly a teacher's credit union organized to give teachers loans to help them make it through the summer's three months of "unemployment." Stay away if you have monthly banking needs in excess of $200 total.

I have had multiple bad experiences with them. I will be closing any accounts I have with them. I am not going to be the guy that bashes them on Google. Just know they are terrible.

    Response from the owner
