    I wouldn't recommend getting service done here. While the people are nice the system is disorganized. I had to come back 3 separate times to get a simple TSB done, (the first time they ordered the incorrect part, the second time the employee didn't show up to work, and the third time it was finally done correctly). I understand that mistakes happen but I shouldn't have to spend hours and request time off work 3 separate times for a simple issue. After the TSB part was installed, I was disgusted to find my seats covered in black marks. I take pride in having a clean car with white seats and it is sad that the dealership can't treat the car with the same level of care. I wiped off the seats but the dirt still lingered behind and greyed the seat slightly. I let the dealership know this prior to writing the review and they said that the manager would be in contact with me. That was about 5 days ago and I still haven't heard anything. Again, this shows a lack of professionalism.

    I've been taking my Mazda3 to the service center for three years now, and I'm very happy with their service! Car gets washed, loaner car provided for longer service times, staff is exceptional. They're aware of ongoing warranty coverage and made sure a recent repair of mine was covered by Mazda. Definitely going to keep coming back, and when I'm ready for a new vehicle, this is my first stop.

    Mechanic forgot to tighten lug nuts on my front wheel. I went to the service center last week for an oil change/tire swap. When I pulled out of the lot I noticed the odd shaking and rumbling. I stopped right away and after a quick inspection found that driver’s side front wheel did not have any lug nuts on, I found them lying on the ground not far away. Thankfully I was going slow enough that the wheel didn’t pull away from the car. I can’t imagine what would have happened if I headed straight to the highway. Mechanics had to use a jack to put the wheel back on and drive the car back to the shop. A service advisor gave me a coupon for a free detailing service, a second one I received from them this year. The other one they gave me several months ago after installing new brake pads and rotors incorrectly. Please be aware that Russ Darrow Mazda service department is negligent and does not perform a safety check before returning vehicles to their owners. It seems they’re trying to get more cars in and out, and focus neither on quality nor on customer’s safety.

    I had always gotten my car serviced regularly, except this time: I was way overdue for an oil change, AND I had been ignoring recommendations to get new tires for nearly 1.5 years. Mostly because I have a sick old dog who can't be alone at all, and I didn't know how to manage the logistics of getting my car in and then being without it. Well I shouldn't have worried: they offered a pickup/drop off service!, AND left me with a loaner vehicle (which anyone besides me would say was much better than my own beat-up car), so there was no inconvenience at all while my car was being serviced. I was also quite worried about their driver with my car, it had just snowed and I was well aware that my bald tires were kind of terrifying on slippery roads. Even for me, and I am super familiar with how it drives. But he evidently managed just fine :). The service guys found a couple other issues on my car and sent me a video so I could see the issues tor myself and choose what to repair. All prices were reasonable and as quoted, everyone very friendly, and I'm now back with my beloved car. Shiny and clean with good tires and working battery.

    Description of Complaint: I dropped off my 2021 Mazda CX9 at Russ Darrow Mazda in Madison on 5/1/22 for service because it has been smelling like something is burning while I'm driving. On Wed or Thurs 5/4-5/5, Mazda called to tell me they put 600+ miles on my car throughout that week while test driving it and that they didn't smell anything. I mentioned that my car would've needed an oil change if that is the case, and the service personnel advised that they DID do an oil change. I asked John to please re-drive my car because there is no way they didn't smell it. He drove my car again and called me back 5 minutes later to tell me that yes he smelt something burning and would take it back into the shop. They then had my car for another 2.5 weeks. I picked it up on 5/20 after they advised everything is fine, couldn't duplicate the issue and nothing needed to be replaced. At pickup, I was being asked to sign documents that did not reflect any of the conversations that the techs or service personnel and I had over the prior 3 weeks about my vehicle and the notes and service order did not reflect an oil change, and stated that they only put 29 miles on my car. I refused to sign the documents without everything being updated. John went back to add in notes about everything we had discussed and he added in that they did an oil change. Upon leaving and second guessing their honestly, I took my car to another auto shop and they confirmed that my oil has not been changed recently; my car now has the service due light flashing and the sticker hasn't been changed. This is a HUGE LIABILITY considering if I drive this for another 5000+ miles because they ENSURED ME that the oil change was done, and it WASN'T - MY ENGINE WOULD BE DAMAGED. They tried omitting details in the report, LIED about service that was completed, and all probably so they could get me out of the dealership office. They refuse to provide proof that the oil change was done (as in a video, which every client gets a link to view the video of service once it's completed).

    I purchased my new car here in March 2021 (almost a year ago) and everything has been top-notch, from the car buying experience (test driving, learning the vehicle, etc.) to getting my oil changed and tires rotated. Highly recommend!

    Went through car buying process online. Was supposed to just show up and sign papers. When I get there, the terms had changed. I live a hour and a half from the Dealership. Could have let me know before i drove on a three hour round trip. I wouldnt have come, and they knew it. . Very deceptive. I'm also writing Mazda directly. Edit- Obviously my name is not EyeKnightOwl, it's Jeremy H. Was definitely writing about the correct dealership. Edit- manager contacted me. Nice guy. Apologized, and offered to buy me gas, or give me a gift card. I declined, but still a nice gesture. Was appreciated. Changing to 3 stars.

    I've had my debit card information compromised immediately after making payments here on two separate occasions with two different cards. They are the only place I use a debit card because of their large CC fee. This most recent compromise was the first and only transaction made on the new debit card. Seeing how multiple associates brushed it off when I brought it up and their complete disregard for customer security, I cannot confidently continue doing business here. Watch your accounts closely.

    Not a very pleasant experience, we were not treated very well from the start. We decided to write that off to an inexperienced sales person understanding that there is a high level of employee turnover at this dealership. It got worse from there working with Kimber in finance, she was accusatory and didn't handle the experience professionally or tact, then she went on to blame her behavior on us, wow! Sorry Kimber you get a D+. The deal was canceled by the dealership because we "weren't a fit" to be their customer and they told us the needed to "protect their business" and didn't want bad reviews. I was shocked to be treated in this manner, but there are many good dealerships where we can spend our money and the Russ Darrow group is not a good fit for us. It's a sellers market out there and they are exercising their right to choose who gets to buy a car from them. We purchased from a dealer that treated us with respect and professionalism and wish the best for Russ Darrow despite their unprofessional approach to business. Update: I can't say enough about the difference working with a professional Mazda dealership made for our purchase, Russ Darrow could learn what customer service is from this dealership. From the initial contact, to the cleanliness of the showroom, restrooms, waiting areas and the service bays the pride in the other dealership shows where Russ Darrow Mazda is just an average car dealership at best. From sales to finance to delivery the experience from the other dealership was first class. Sorry Russ Darrow, the bar is raised and I challenge you to step up to the plate to be a better dealership and provide the level of customer experience that Mazda automobiles deserve.

    Truly an amazing experience from start to end. They were great about finding the car we love and made it easy and efficient where we drove off the lot that same day. The service team is also brilliant and they were able to stay in touch with us and make sure we were taken care of when we had some damage from weather. I’m not one to typically trust dealerships and Car Services but this place has gained my full trust! Highly recommend!

    I drove into Russ Darrow to just get an oil change, but my experience was much more positive than just that. I had an oil leak that I wanted Russ Darrow to check into. They cleverly put a red dye into my oil so that in a few days I'll be able to know exactly where the leak is coming from. They also discovered a bad tire (worn right down to the steel belt). Service took a video of their entire inspection so that I could see all the trouble spots firsthand. Leah Hoefling, the service receptionist, explained everything to me quite clearly. I could tell she was trying her best for me in whatever she did, which included getting me the best possible price . While waiting for my oil change I also had the pleasure of interacting with the lobby hospitality woman on the sales floor who offered to provide refreshments for me while I waited. Last, I had the pleasure of speaking to one a car salesman, who was a true expert (a taller fellow who was dressed in black and dark grey on that day). He knew cars inside-out and gave me a head- start in my next car purchase. There was no pressure from him to buy a car Overall, I had a very positive experience at Russ Darrow.

    Had a pleasant experience until it was time to purchase the vehicle. I test drove a Mazda I was interested in, slept on it, came back the next day to purchase it. After accepting my offer and initiated paperwork was told the vehicle I wanted was actually NOT available for sale with no known time-frame on when it would be. No effort was made to rectify the situation. I found a Mazda with more features at a better price at a different dealership. I have lost all trust in this dealership as the issue I should never have occurred and was unfathomable to others who I know that work in or with different dealerships. Update to clarify: the issue was not that the car was no longer available, the issue was that as I was filling out paperwork to purchase the vehicle I was told (after agreeing to purchase) that there was a title issue and no known time frame on if or when the title of the vehicle would be obtained by the dealership. So to confirm a sale and start the paperwork and then hear 45 minutes later that the vehicle is not actually available for sale was very disheartening. I did receive a follow-up call the next day (late in the day) stating that there was still no known timeframe of when the vehicle would be purchasable. I was told it could be days to weeks

We have 15 dealerships in our group all trying sell the same cars and we receive almost 10,000 website visits per month at this dealership alone each month. Sometimes the vehicle you looked at today was the same one someone looked at the day before and wanted to think about it over night. In this market a delay could make the vehicle unavailable. Think of the same way a house is on the market and receives several offers. Would that be unfathomable? We wish you nothing but the best.

    Everyone was super nice, the salesman Jesse was very patient with me as it was my first car buying experience. The whole process did take a bit longer than expected but I got to go home with the car I loved the very same day. Will definitely go here again.

    I bought a new CX-5 from this dealer 9 months ago and it is burning oil. All this dealership did was change the oil and recommended that I “watch it.” A brand new car should not be down a quart of oil between changes! The car is still under warranty and nothing was done to remedy the problem. I will not buy from this dealership again.

    I had accidentally schedule a service appointment with a different Mazda dealership and showed up to Russ Darrow, not knowing I had scheduled at a different location. I showed up 10 minutes before they were even open and I know I most likely created a hiccup in Russ Darrow day! I cannot begin to describe how amazing my service advisor Kelsey was in helping me out! She squeezed me into their schedule and sent me out with a loner vehicle while my car issue was diagnosed! She was so helpful in explaining what was wrong, what should be fixed, and exact on pricing! I was very honest with Kelsey about what I could realistically afford today and even though it was way more then I wanted to spend she worked with me and made my experience amazing. I dropped my car off with no appointment at 7am and had my car back by 2pm. The service on my vehicle was quick and my car drives amazing! I will never not come to this dealership to get my care serviced. Again I cannot praise Kelsey enough for how amazing her customer service skills are!!! She even put a new battery in my car key and as that might not seem like a lot it impressed me and made me so happy to be able to you my clicker again! It’s so pleasurable coming to a big company and dealing with someone who can provide such amazing customer service as the face of your company!

    Very professional, friendly, and transparent. We actually got to negotiate the bottom price and not just the monthly price. They answered every single one of our questions completely and we were not left confused over anything. Only took off one star because we spent five hours here, but we did come on a Saturday and it's expected to take that long when buying a new car to be honest.

Front person offered me drink and talked genuinely for a couple minutes like it wasn't a job and to every other person who came into lobby area was treated the same. Kudos to that worker at Mazda russ darrow. Quick oil change and sales even shared insight for my future car lease. Will continue to shop Russ Darrow for future leases.

    We planned to purchase a Mazda at a nearby dealership but wanted to get that the vehicle checked out before we actually bought it. I spoke with Danny who was very helpful over the phone and set us up for a very reasonably priced inspection . As we lived a few hours away the dealer agreed to bring the vehicle to Russ Darrow. Wes went over The vehicle and even sent us a video to show some of the cosmetic scratches and door dings that I In turn was able to share with my wife. We were both very impressed.     Incredibly rude service employees. Came in for a free oil change & cleaning (3/27/21) which I received a coupon for for being a first responder. During the payment/checkout process, the service employee snapped at us for not presenting the coupon earlier. I had actually discussed the coupon when I scheduled the appointment originally. The employee then stopped the car wash that was in progress. I left feeling completely dissatisfied and will not return to give them any of my business in the future.

    Drove 3.5 hours to buy my CX-5. Sales rep was friendly and buying experience was good except when we went out to finish up with the car there was a large scratch on it not previously disclosed. We had already done all the paperwork so I owned it but thankfully they held up their end and repaired the scratch then delivered the car to me. Much appreciated that they took care of us!

    Everyone was professional, courteous, and helpful. The technician was informative and polite. Service was great until checkout. Russ Darrow now charges 3% to use a credit card. In my opinion, for a business such as this, to charge for using a credit card is ridiculous!

    Came to my job site and picked up my car for oil change, and was nice enough to bring me a 2020 mazda cx 30 for a loaner car. They also were nice enough to replace my lift gate unit that was a recall. I didn't have an appointment for that. Had my car back to me within the hour. I appreciate everything the service department has done for me.

    We stopped in late Thursday night, and Kyle assisted us with the great customer service. He even went to the extent of allowing us to drive the vehicle home for an overnight review. Sadly, the vehicle we took home didn't meet our needs, but Kyle took the time to listen to what we were needing, and presented us with a different option the following morning.     I had a 7:45am appointment; I was there at 7:30am. At first they stated they were not sure they had the rods for the recall. They also were fixing a door handle, which I had purchased and they weren’t sure that would work either. These were the reasons I had given them fir the appointment. They kindly escorted me to a waiting room. Brian came back and said the handle should work (nothing about the rods). When I kindly asked how long it would take, he said it could be up to three hours. When I gently said, “oh they said it would be about an hour”, he began to jump on me with how much work they had and how busy they are. I calmly said I understood and would be happy to wait. I did wait two hours, that was OK , altho’ I am not sure they honored my appointment, as many others finished before me In the end they did both jobs, and Washed the car. Brian also helped adjust my car seat. The receptionist was very nice.

    Blown away again by Russ Darrow’s service department! Daniel is amazing. But they have all been so helpful every time I bring my car in for a concern or service, and very informative. I’ve never felt like they are trying to “sell me” on something I don’t need like most low budget service stations. I had four free services included with the purchase of my vehicle, but will absolutely continue going there for all my future service needs.

    We were greeted right at the door by Hannah Voogd. I have purchased a lot of cars and Hannah turned out to be the best salesperson I've worked with. The dealership was exceptionally busy that Friday and so we had to wait a couple hours to get the paperwork completed. Hannah made sure to keep us updated on our waiting time, showed us their service department and answered all of our questions. Once we were able to meet with Matt on the paperwork we were on our way in no time with our new Mazda6.

    Overall A+ experience trading in my car and purchasing a new Mazda from Russ Darrow. Throughout my visit I had a chance to chat with quite a few employees, all of whom were lovely. Sometimes I dread shopping for a new car but the staff at Russ Darrow made it a pleasant experience. The sales manager was super fun, the receptionist/greeter was sweet and helped me pass the time waiting for my sales person who was extremely helpful. Kim in finance was a hoot as well as straight forward in her explanation of all the paperwork. I would not hesitate to buy my next car from Russ Darrow.

    I had a minor rattling sound in my Mazda. They had a service tech ready to check out my car when I arrived, found the problem quickly, and got it resolved. They even sent a short video showing where the problem was located. The waiting room was clean and the front desk person helped make coffee and offered a snack. So far my experience with Russ Darrow Mazda has been very good.

    Sold my 2014 Subaru Forester here on 1/13/2022. They said it will mail the check to me, but I haven't gotten it (now 2/3/2022), and I have reached out many times for a week. And they said, "let me check the corporate office and get back to you the next day." No call back or followup since. Called again and one of the agent said to call back again tomorrow because finance agent is gone for the day, instead of taking my info and call me back afterwards. Edit: 2/3/2022. They called saying that my check was mailed to wrong address few weeks ago that I specifically tell them not to mail to. Edit: 2/10/2022. They had someone delivered the check personally to my house.     Changed on April 22: I came to the dealership, solved some misunderstand that we have with the manager. This time the experience is great. Original: The sales department here is so poor. The salesman didn’t introduce the vehicle. Test drive is basically the salesman throw the key to you and let you figure everything out by yourself.

    Bad service. Found a car we have been looking for here. Contacted dealer, put a deposit down and took tine off to make the hour drive. Before we left salesman called back and cancelled the deal claiming they don’t sell to people from out of the area. Guess Illinois money not good in Wisconsin.

    Excellent experience from start to finish. As first-time car buyers, we were nervous about the process, especially during this unusual time for purchasing a car.     It was a used vehicle, so I understand there is always a risk. However, the first time we drove the car on the highway, (~two weeks after purchasing), the car immediately made strange sounds. We took it to a car mechanic and it turns out the wheel bearing needed replacement, which was ~$350 repair cost. UPDATE: After a few months we did get a refund for the warranty part!

    Edit: had my first service and was very pleasantly surprised with the attentiveness and care I received. Having figured out the issue with my key fob, I feel better about having my vehicle serviced from this dealer. Bought a brand new 2021 CX-30 that wouldn't start after barely 1,400 miles. When I brought the vehicle in for service, I was told there were no loaners, so I was made to wait 3 hours while they serviced my car under warranty. I had to reschedule my whole day because of their miscommunication. On top of all that, there was no acknowledgment of the frustration caused, or any attempt made to apologize for the inconvenience. Severely disappointed.

    We were headed back to MN from FL for the summer. Pulled over at a rest stop and smelled burring oil. Brought it to Russ Darrow since on the way home. Turned out my cylinder head was bad and had to be replaced. We were given a nice, new loaner car in the meantime. We were pulling a trailer full of our belongings. They kept our trailer in one of the bays. Because of Covid, the part took longer than normal to get. Once cylinder head was received, my car was fixed and currently all is better. Nice, helpful service team and bays were very clean.

    I went in for an oil change and tire rotation. Did I get this? Yes, but there were two major issues I encountered that mean I won't be returning to this dealership. 1.The price: I booked the appointment online, with prices of $59.99 and $19.99 being quoted by the system for the two services. The final bill was actually over $94 after tacking on a $10 fee for shop supplies and changing the price of the services. Oh, and if you want to use credit they're going to charge an extra 3.5% fee on top of that. Look, I understand the fee for smaller businesses, but I wouldn't expect it here. And the shop fee should be rolled into the cost of the service - I've never seen this fee at any other dealership. 2. The service while waiting: When I'm waiting for my car I want to be left alone. This is doubly true during a pandemic. Yet they have a "service concierge" making small talk with you while you wait. Maybe some people will love this, but all I could imagine were the COVID particles coming from her. I was so, so excited to bring my Mazda back to a Mazda dealership for regular service, but I will not be returning.

    Innocently got in my car for a starbucks run and discovered a flat tire, joy. Called and they were able to get me an estimate for two new tires. Thought about it a little more and decided to do 4 tires. They were still able to get the additional 2 tires and get them mounted and aligned same day. Gave me a loaner so i didn't have to sit and wait. Everyone was amazingly nice and put up with my dramatics. Their service is very consistent.

    This Mazda dealership knows what they're doing. They service was top notch. Quick and super easy, Danny my service advisor took great care of me. Toon time to make me a video explaining I need new filters for my CX5. The price for the filters was outrageous but that's not on him that's on the dealership. he was very nice about me not wanting to pay that much for filters and totally understood where I was coming from. Was not pushy at all whatsoever about me having to buy those filters. Luckily there's Amazon in for half the price I got both filters. He was even kind enough to say that I could bring it in and have them install it. That's what I call going above and beyond. Price for an oil change was pretty cheap too which was great. really love the fact that I got a free car wash after my service. we will for sure be coming back and would definitely recommend you go there. Danny himself needs a raise.

    This dealership does not have it together. I did not receive my plates until 5 months after purchasing my car and 2 months after my temporary plate had expired. After not receiving my plates two weeks after my purchase I had called the dealership asking where my plates were as they had advised. I was told there was nothing they could do it was on the DMV. After calling several more times over the next few months and getting told the same thing I decided to call the dmv to see if they were possibly delivered to the wrong address. The DMV informed me that they had canceled my plates being issued due to the fact that the dealership had communicated to them that they gave me plates at the time of purchase. I called Russ Darrow back letting them know what the DMV had said and was told this was just the DMV “ pawning me off on them” but that theyd look into. The next day I get a phone call letting me know the plates are at the dealership. This is among many other issues I’ve had with the dealership/ the way they set me up. I will definitely not be returning here for my next vehicle.

    I was very happy with the service in general and enjoyed working with Kyle in particular. He was knowledgeable and courteous. I only have two suggestions. If looking at used cars listed on the website, be sure that the car is actually available to drive and take home that day. Mine was not, and in fact I had to drive back from 70 miles away. Also, when I did purchase, I was given the car with very little gas and had to stop on my way home to fill up. A full tank of gas should be a courtesy when spending that much money. Otherwise very satisfied.

    I couldn’t have had a better experience! I came in because my heater had stopped working and I was taken care of and given a loaner vehicle right away. My car was given a thorough inspection and nothing was identified. I wasn’t charged for anything AND they replaced a part that was recalled that I had forgotten about. I was told to come by anytime for a free car wash. Excellent service!!!

    The people were nice the the new dealership was clean. However I am extremely disappointed that they didn’t tell me up front before i agreed to new tires that they charge 3.5% charge on all credit card purchases, especially since I canceled my appointment with another company for tires to have it done there. Also the fact that the leave your car dripping wet in the freeze cold... everything froze shut. I won’t be back.

    The service is top notch. Danny and Wes are extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and courteous. I’ve taken my Mazda 3 to them for almost two years. Most importantly, I trust them.     Not much of a haggle because prices are already fair. I personally thought the tactics of keeping you entertained while waiting, are more than professional. However, I know my face said “leave me the freak alone” but they are persistent, and I really didn’t mind. Would buy another car 10/10 Also, the car servicing area in the next Beltline location is really nice! The free rental car you receive if your vehicle needs to be keep over night. Will surely make you want to buy a new vehicle.

    I had Apple CarPlay installed in my 2018 Mazda 3 Grand Touring and at that time I was already irritated with Mazda for having to dish out an additional $500 for something that was included on 2018 Mazda 3’s sold two months after I purchased mine. The service was estimated to take up to 4 hours according to Mazda but Russ Darrow finished it in one hour. As far as the labor rate goes I ended up paying the same as if it took them the entire 4 hours to complete the job and was told afterward that it was a flat fee regardless of the time it took to complete. I was fine with all of this until I entered my vehicle and saw how dirty it was inside. I take pride in my vehicle and keep it as cleanly as I can, especially since I recently purchased it new. When I saw the grease spots and dirt all over my dash, floor mats, and navigation screen I was immediately dissatisfied with the service. It seemed as if they cared more about getting me in and out of there than they did giving my vehicle back to me in the condition they received it. It even looks like one of the technicians enjoyed a sticky beverage in there from the spots on the seat, cup holders and the interior trim. I had told them prior to starting that I was on break from work and was concerned about time only having 3 hours but in no way did I relay the message that they should speed through the job and skip out on cleaning up after themselves. For all I know this is how my vehicle would have looked regardless of time. Between Russ Darrow Mazda and Don Miller Mazda I’d have to recommend Don Miller. Even when I got my oil changed at Don Miller they used paper mats, seat guards, and even gave me a complimentary mermaid car wash voucher which they apparently do for anyone getting their vehicle serviced there. At the end of the day if you’re concerned with time go to Russ Darrow, otherwise avoid them.

    Came in knowing the car I wanted and had a smooth experience. Had a 10 minute test drive with a knowledgeable salesperson, and was given time and space to think about my purchase of both the car and the warranty before I actually purchased them.
