    Simply the best. We have had checking, savings, credit card, car loan, personal loan, and now a mortgage and homeowner’s insurance through Rivermark. The experience has always been professional, simple, and enjoyable. Our mortgage loan officer (shout out to Sunny Freestone!) even connected us with a phenomenal realtor after our previous one didn’t work out. They make payments easy with their app, and everyone strives to make sure that your experience is top notch. I’m so grateful to have all of my accounts here!

    I have gained so much disdain for this credit union in such a brief time, it's almost funny. Banking here has been a lovely combination of condescending and poor communication when interacting with most of the loan officers I've worked with. Lots of important paperwork, with extra fees not previously discussed, have been handled via email, and any questions about those fees have been met with a bit of attitude/defensiveness. If anything is time sensitive for you, might as well kiss any hopeful due dates you might have good-bye! Just wanted to get some answers around refinancing my loan, instead I got talked down to and $400+ worth in fees. Yippee-Ki-Yay, welcome to Rivermark!

    *update for Janice* Your teller said this waaay before he even started my transaction. And you bankers straight lied then and ignored the door. You Janice, will not make me sound like a liar -for your business to sound better. If you dont take lunch, then why would your banker state that? 15 other customers heard them say that. Worse bank ive ever visited my life!! I went in the first time and to cash my check from work. The teller explained that it will take 15 minutes for them to cash it and maybe I should try a different bank. Uhm no sir, this one is fine. Then... I sat and watched him on his computer through his windshield mask lol-he went through my bosses profile, and kept trying to see if he would find a problem and lord behold he did! What a coincidence! He even stated that he needs to make sure everything is legit. He took the check back to his boss who cleared it immediately and omg I was able to cash my check. Guess it wasn't stolen like he thought!! Then, the second time I arrived, they closed the bank at 2:30 and said they was on lunch but never opened back up for the rest of the day. And ignored customers as they wondered why they was not opening the door. Honestly worse bank ever! Bank of America would never!!

We do not close for lunch, so I'm not sure if you are thinking of a different financial institution or not.     Rivermark pretends they are a bank that cares about people. They are not. They only care about the bottom line don't bother with credit unions. All banks are the same. They are there to make money off of us. They don't care about you anymore then any other big bank. If you are considering a credit union dont! I know I have been a customer for 27 years and I regret it.

    I have had the most DREADFUL experience with this bank. First of all, getting a car loan was an absolute nightmare. The woman who "helped" me was incredibly rude. This was my first time ever getting a loan and she was quite literally yelling at me on the phone. She would ask me for one individual piece of paperwork, and then call me back a day later nearly shouting at me about needing more paperwork filled out. It was to the point where i felt the need to email her and apologize for being an inconvenience for being inexperienced. I have never had such terrible anxiety working with someone. I couldn't even ask for help. I actually cried after our last phone conversation. She also would not respond to me for days at a time. She was also disturbingly rude to the dealership I was getting the car from, to the point that they called me and asked "are you okay? Are they always that rude?" After all of that, it turns out the woman processed all the information wrong anyway and i had to go into the bank to get it taken care of by someone else anyway (luckily that lady was much nicer). For some reason, i decided to continue banking with them because of their high interest checking account. But then they started charging a ridiculous anount of overdraft fees without warning. The first time they pulled $60 out in two days without any notification. When i called, they said it was because of a scheduled wire transfer from a Chase bank. ... when it was actually from my Rivermark account. So they charged me multiple overdraft fees instead of just not allowing the transaction to go through??? Like it is FROM Rivermark??? This was for a scheduled wire transaction FROM my Rivermark account. The woman i spoke to on the phone told me something completely different, and then did a "courtesy" of returning that money.... um... ok?... then again, a month later They pulled $110 out of my account in the span of TWO days. They continued to charge me overdraft fees even after i put money BACK in my account. Then the woman on the phone said they could only "meet me half way" and charged me $60. I am a college student who now does not have money to buy groceries for this month. So... needless to say i will be officially closing all of my accounts and leaving this bank for good. UPDATE: They are STILL taking money out of my account, several days later. The total charges are over $200 now.... I don't know how to make this stop. I'm completely out of money

    Rivermark is pretty great! Credit unions are a great alternative to for-profit banks and Rivermark is no exception. The online banking has been difficult at times because of inaccurate or unclear instructions.

    Hello I am writing a official complaint against the branch manager claiming to be also a supervisor, His name is Rob Halleman While making a payment for my father's account with a paystub and a check he referred to me as quote "a person off the street " without asking for my identification first. I am very upset with his behavior and choice of wording in today's visit. I highly do not recommend conducting business with this branch and bank.

    The bank was wonderful. The customer service rep was extremely helpful and guided me through all the steps closing out an old account with a different bank and opening an account with rivermark. I'm totally thrilled with a customer support that I received.

    I recently opened an account at Rivermark Credit Union in Portland on Hawthorne Blvd. It Is an interesting, popular, and odd place. It kind of fits the neighborhood. To start, it is on a hill, the parking lot is small and quirky, The ATMs are different, and just not what I am use to. I like Rivermark Credit Union.and I remember them being in this same location since at least 1983. The staff are always friendly and helpful.

    I went in to sign for a loan and ended up switching all my accounts over to rivermark, I was also able to refinance my auto loan at a much lower rate, all thanks to Victoria, who was amazing. Excellent customer service.

    Called after I received a notice that my car payment was delinquent. David handled my call and fixed the auto-payment for me. He handled my call with expert knowledge and efficiency. A+ experience. I've been a customer for around 10 years, and have been happy with their checking and auto loans products, as well as their responsive customer service.

    I should give them one star, they keep calling me even after I asked to be put on the do not call list, as they were BY FAR the worst mortgage company I have ever worked with. Their loan officer contacted my agent multiple times behind my back, without my permission to discuss directly with them about what we were buying. Once issued, they failed to copy over my insurance information and thus charged me their insurance rate for multiple months before I discovered it, they of course could only revert the previous few months. They have dropped the ball multiple times, and then they continue to call asking for more business. Edit: no need to contact, we already talked, i just leave another review every time I get another call even though I asked to be put on the DNC list.

    This credit union is incompetent again and again on important transactions. Wire transfers are impossible for them to correctly process. Rivermark Community Credit Union last week rejected a money transfer (MY MONEY!) to buy govt bonds from the registered US Govt agency I had opened an account with. Despite providing correct information, the transfer of funds was denied by RCCU. Two separate Rivermark employees denied existence of such a transfer attempt. One told me that if such a wire transfer debit had been requested, I would have been notified. I wasn’t yet I have proof from Treasury Direct that such an attempt was made. I now face a 13 week wait to reestablish funding at TD. Years ago a Rivermark Employee mistranscribed an account number on a wire transfer and held up a property transaction. She laughed when I pointed it out and said, “Whoops!” It’s as if she went from working at a fast food restaurant to a bank overnight. She sits at a customer service desk on Hawthorne. Last year Rivermark failed to register an enormous wire transfer from a home sale and went as far as to deny having any record of the attempt. Yet the Title company had done the request. I once again had to drive to Rivermark and badger someone to release the funds to me. Oddly, it was a determined teller who got a manager to finally act. Their PPP assistance was non existent. Utterly deplorable as I have kept my business account there for about 12 years. If you look at the credit union’s assets, it’s frightening to consider where those funds really reside, how they’re tracked, maintained and truly I wonder if anyone is in charge and responsible. I have yet to find anyone there who has a banking background to speak with in upper management. The CEO has a background in computer websites and IT. He is learning finances on the job. Good grief. This credit union will hit the right notes on social justice however, while fumbling the addition, subtraction and handling of money. Maybe that’s not relevant anymore to banking. Rivermark purports to be a modern user-friendly dynamic credit union but are incompetent, technologically and in personnel ability, and yet probably are now too big to fail. ($1.2 billion assets!) I expect a big scandal someday involving Rivermark Community Credit Union. If you’re in business or will be doing important transactions now and then, you should go elsewhere. Little things are big things, numbers and transactions, dates, times of day, tracking, training, accountability. I’m going elsewhere now. I’m not using my business name on this post.

    Rivermark decided to (FOR NO REASON AND COMPLETELY UNSOLICITED) decrease my credit card limit by 80% without contacting me. They did this right before the holiday season and left me stressing about rent, gifts etc. My credit score dropped 155 points. It took me 4 years of good payment history to build this up and they crushed my work in one day. Once confronted about this issue, they told me they had messed up, would fix the error, BUT WOULD DO NOTHING TO HELP FIX MY CREDIT SCORE which they single handedly destroyed. OH! And if you select call back because they have "been experiencing abnormally long wait times" for almost 24 months, a third party company calls you back, does not tell you they don't work for Rivermark but still try to get your SS and personal info. This illustrates a ridiculous lack of business ethic, as they do nothing to prevent your information being stolen or used for third party marketing. For a credit union, this is the worst experience I have EVER had. Been banking with credit unions for 15 years. Rivermark doesn't care about you in anyway shape or form, doesn't care if they're poor business practices seriously effect your personal life, and won't assist when the damage is done. Bank somewhere else. Anywhere else (except U.S. Bank). UPDATE: The bank manager accused me of lying about this multiple times in an email thread. Once again refusing to do anything except accuse me of negligence and not understanding how to read a credit score. Good customer service! Thank you Janet Brown for your lack of tact and pushy wording that will inevitably force me into the arms of another bank.

    This month, my family will be closing our accounts with Rivermark. My wife and I have 6 accounts with Rivermark, from a money market account, to checking, to cash back visa, etc. We decided to open a joint checking and visited the branch yesterday. It took the cake in one of the worst customer service interactions we have ever had. Interesting that when we left and went directly to a big bank, the customer service was exceptional. Unfortunately, we will not be supporting local and we will be banking elsewhere. Rivermark missed the mark.

    The loan officer I had did a horrible job communicating throughout the loan process. I indicated after many days and emails sent that my loan was time sensitive. The representative was very standoffish and stopped replying to me altogether. I ended up getting a cash advance on a new credit card to avoid the loan officer. I RECOMMED NOT USING ONLINE BANKING FOR LOANS AND GOING INTO A BANK DIRECTLY.

    Everyone here is the nicest, most considerate, and by far the most knowledgeable. I have only been there twice, but each time I am greeted professionally. Did not have to wait more than a couple of minutes, and watched how considerate they were to each other, when they are asking someone to attend to me. That is really nice to see in a company.

    I haven't had a bank account for a couple of years, and i was pleasantly surprised with how quick and easy it was to set one up with Rivermark! I showed up late on a Saturday and was told i might have to wait until next weekend but one of their representatives was willing to stay and help me get started.

    I have been banking here for years. The banking services are great but the loan services are the WORST. I spoke with 2 loan officers on 2 occasions who were so unprofessional, uninformed and totally distracted on the phone with me. Perhaps they are working from home but that is no excuse not to do the job. I will be shopping for a mortgage else where.
