If I could give it a zero I would , Do not go here at all the man who’s there is a racist we went in there trying to sell a counsel and because we didn’t want to anymore due to the price he had offered he called us “ new generation of Mexicans “ insulted us telling us “ get out of here” that we had wasted “ his time “ he’s simply disgusting and never again will we go there definitely don’t recommend

    Response from the owner

Your little wannabe gang banger son called me a N*gger 15 times, so I told you guys to leave. But "New generation of Mexicans" is the stupidest f*cking insult I've ever heard. Give me some credit. I'm more creative than that.

The dude that runs this place isn’t has the worst customer service ever. Your at pawn shop h to buy things you expect to haggle with them a little bit over the price. Nope soon as I said I don’t think they are worth that price, he instantly starts to belittle me and tell me he has only been doing this for however many years he’s done this, but I know better then he does. No we aren’t all as smart as you but i do now how to use Kelly blue bicycles amd they have the Gary fisher at under 500. so I’m sure they now better then you ask well I’m guessing.

    Response from the owner

You were trying to trade your stuff for a bike that I'm selling for $1,000 and I said no. Then you went to our other location and sold that same stuff to us for $200. I'm sorry that I didn't give you an 80% discount on the bike. But hey, chalk it up to bad customer service I guess!

Provo Pawn has been there to help me through tough times. Reed has always been fair and honest with his dealings with me. I can honestly say that Reed is the best Pawn Broker that I have ever dealt with. They have earned my loyalty as a customer. I would definitely recommend Provo Pawn to anyone who wants to be treated fair by honest and understanding people. Thank you Provo Pawn!

I would put ZERO stars if it was an option! I rarely rate any company a 1 star. Only once before so you know this was a very poor experience! I called and made a full price offer for an item they were selling on Facebook for $89 this Saturday (2/27/21). That was after I had used Facebook messenger and offered him $60 on the item. I was prepared for him to give me a counteroffer as this is part of the negotiating that is done at most pawn and consignment shops. Now just so no one thinks I was lowballing him, I found three of the exact same items online that sold for $51 and $ $87 and $105. (I have attached pictures of them.) So $60 was right in line with my offer. He said it had just sold and marked it as such. I looked Monday morning (3/1/21) and the item was magically for sale again (same pictures and stain on the cover, etc.) and he reposted it for $229.00. Looks like a "bait and switch" to me. I called to see if he would be willing to do $120 and was told that once they looked it up they changed their mind and want the higher price. I wouldn't have minded too much but shouldn't you check before you advertise it and then once you advertise it shouldn't you honor the price? Moral of the story? DO NOT BUY FROM PROVO PAWN ON FACEBOOK. If you see something you like at a good price you should just stop in and buy it as advertised rather than have them lie about it being sold and then reposting. I have also included the message he sent me last night on Facebook admitting that he lied and then asking me to remove my review from Google. Most people I've met here in Utah are honest in their dealings with their fellow citizens but it appears there are a few who are not. The owner, Reed Smith, should do the right thing. That is what a good business owner would do.

    Response from the owner

First off, trying to evoke emotion in people by using language from the Temple Recommend Interview makes you a f*cking douche bag. Nothing about your skewed, bullsh*t recounting of this entire transaction has been "honest in your dealings with your fellow citizens". I fully admit that I lied to you, but you put me in a moral dilemma where I had to choose between telling the truth and hurting your feelings, or sparing your feelings by lying. It's like when a little kid asks "Do you think I'm ugly?", (and the kid is definitely ugly), but you lie because you don't want to destroy the poor little bast*rd. In this case, instead of being honest to the poor little ugly kid and saying "Yes, I think you're ugly", I thought it would be easier and nicer to tell Michael that the item had already sold. Telling the truth would have sounded something like this: "Normally I would honor the posted price, even though it was a typo, but I'm not going to in this case, because you're such a greedy little bit*ch that you made a lowball offer on a $229 item that was accidentally posted for $89." Michael's feelings would have been hurt by my honesty, and he would have left me a bad review on Google because he was so upset that he had cost himself the chance to buy the item he wanted at a ridiculously low price. Apparently, Michael thinks that "what a good business owner would do" is allow customers to blackmail them using Google Reviews. Sorry Michael, by that definition, I guess we can both agree that I'm not a good business owner!

I love Provo Pawn. Reed is the most loyal and genuine person I know. I've seen him interact with customers, many people who think poorly of him treat him poorly or try to get an end sale price from him. I suppose they may not see that he needs to make a profit to provide for his family. Provo Pawn will let you test and inspect items before you purchase them. This seems fair because they do have a no returns or refund policy. The owner is definitely rough around the edges. But he's running a pawn shop, not a Tiffany & Co. I always get the service and help that I need.

The owner of the shop is very rude. I took a couple of things into him and he offered me a low price and I originally took the offer but as he was processing everything I told him I didn’t want to move forward. He looked at and asked “are you serious?” And laughed at me. When I told him again that I didn’t want to proceed he said “thanks for wasting my time”. Very low quality customer service.

    Response from the owner

I stopped helping another customer to help you. After 15 minutes of trying to reset your old missionary phone that couldn't be reset without the administrator password (which you lied about), you said you didn't want to sell anymore. You wasted my time and the other customer's time. I'm sorry I didn't give you a participation trophy.

Every time I've gone in, the guy who I assume is the owner has always been really helpful and gone out of his way to help me find anything. Gotten some great deals. Good place to check out.

Really good place to sell. The guy there had an opportunity to undersell me a $100 but he didn't. Decent selection to buy as well.

Reed (owner) has been nothing but courteous and professional in the many times I have purchased items from his store. I have never pawned anything personally but people clearly do not have an understanding of how a business of this nature is ran when they think he’s “low-balling” someone on price or making “400% markup” because the item is priced higher than what he paid you for it. Of course you are not going to make the same amount of money selling it to Provo pawn as you would selling it on Facebook marketplace or KSL, but you have to put the time, energy and all the texts of people negotiating with you in to play and the upside of Provo Pawn is that you get money right then and there, without the hassle and time that it takes going another way and then Provo Pawn turns around and marks it up...hate to be the bearer of bad news, that’s how retail/business works. He has rent, pays employees, pays himself, as great of a guy that Reed is I’ve never had the disillusion that he is selling me this item for the exact price that he bought it for or that he’s in business to not make money. NO, he, just like any person in this world, is there to provide a retail experience where you can buy/pawn items and a discounted rate and is there to make $$. If this is a shock to you, then this world is going to be a tough place for you! Thanks to Reed and Provo Pawn for always being fair, professional and just a very pleasant shopping experience! Best pawn shop in the county...by far!

    Response from the owner

    Thanks Tyler!

By far the worst customer service I have ever experienced! I would not reccomend this place to anyone! My husband pawned a bike for 20 dollars! We were late by a few days and he had already put it out for sale and told us we had to buy it back! I know the law is they cant sale it until it is 30 days past due! I plan on taking action to the fullest with this company. I asked for the date it was pawned because I did not have the ticket. He refused to provide me with the information and kept hanging up on me. Take your business next door to Triple A for sure

    Response from the owner

Thanks Heather! We appreciate your invaluable feedback! Have a great day!

Went here to get an impact wrench and sockets. The guy talked us through all the options, even tried to sell us the cheapest one because he knew that's all we needed. The compressor didn't have the right fitting, so he went back and stole one off of another compressor and put it on for us. Very accommodating, friendly (but not insincere), and all the stuff worked great.
