Planet Fitness Marrows Rd, Newark

(NOTE: The photos are pre-COVID 19 times. They would never let me get away with not wearing a mask.) Great price, location, and one of the newer locations. I was able to get some professional trainer sessions -- free of charge! The staff is always friendly, and truly care about working there, not just there to get a pay check. They are constantly checking to make sure masks are in place, and sanitizing. Thanks! (Of course, if you have a Black Card, you can go to all of them AND enjoy the extra benefits of tanning and massages.)

Nice gym and staff overall. After 3 years here I’m still asking of the owner/GM: Please add fans to the free weight area. We desperately need airflow. The front desk staff aren’t responsible for this. Thanks.

You can get the job done here but I must say there’s no barbells or benches for benching or power rack/squat racks Just smith machines and dumbbell's plenty of cardio stuff too. And like I said you CAN get a good workout in but just not much free weights. This was a letdown for me but for $22.99 mo. and free guest pass you can’t beat it. At 66 yrs old I leave my ego at the door and make the best with good results

This is the Worst Planet Fitness. The employees steal customers' personal belongings. I caught a female employee going through my locker and snooping in my personal belongings. They curse all the time. Also, an employee told me there were bed bugs in the shower very recently. It is filthy and VERY BADLY RUN. DO NOT GO HERE.

Abysmal. One staff member. Absolutely no normal racks. Massive gym where you can't even do a squat.

After getting a new health insurance plan from UnitedHealthcare I was told that a gym membership to Planet Fitness was included but when I visited Planet Fitness the employees had no knowledge of insurance plans and seen I had a disability still told me to go to another Planet Fitness in Newark to see if they took it? And me being brand new to this can happen to recover from a very serious surgeries I thought they would be more helpful

It could use that sitting, stretching machine. Update: newer equipment, buy no stretching machine I've mentioned before.

Started a new fitness program. It's called the truffle shuffle. Great reviews. Gonna put away the baby Ruth's and start working them glutes. 😲

Great! I love this place!!! It's definitely worth the black card because I can bring a guest any time i want and have access to all locations across the country. And after a long day of getting gains, I can relax at the black card relaxation zone where icam get a chair massage or a hydro massage. it's really great.

Coldest showers in the middle of winter. If you want to get sick, get a shower here. No hot water at all.

I ALWAYS have a great experience here. I take my daughter's here also and it's always a good time. The staff from top to bottom is awesome.... Always professional, helpful, and friendly. They will go out of their way to make sure you have a great experience. Thank you and Keep doing what you guys do.

Not too crowded. I always manage to get my workout and. The location is also very convenient.

Awful experience here. I’ve been a long term member at this facility for a couple years, and when I came in today - I was told I was required to wear a mask. I was told to wear a mask, but didn’t have one - so they offered me one for $1 dollar. This is ridiculous. I pay $22/mo for a black card, and I cannot receive a mask upon the governors request? This is all for money, and most importantly - an attack on individual freedoms. I will no longer support this organization again and will not recommend anyone to this location. The employees does not make the decision on ether or not I wear a mask. That’s mine. Glad I cancelled!

Planet fitness. A place for where everyone is allowed, no matter how much they enjoy speaking to strangers working out, to better themselves at an affordable cost. Love this place!

This was the first planet fitness I ever used and it has set a high bar. The customer service was amazing. The available amenities were updated and well maintained. I had a great workout and miss this gym already!

I just moved to Newark my normal gym was the farrand drive location and the difference between the two locations are night and day. The Newark location is poorly lit not as clean and just overall not what I was expecting everything there is just more or less placed (equipment wise) don’t think I’ll be returning gonna have to hit the Christiana location

Trying to cancel a membership here is the most painful prosses you could go through, really shows off a company stuck in the past. When I called about canceling the person who answered the phone practically yelled at me and used a very aggravate tone of voice. Would not recommend joining this location.

I use to be at this gym and wind up going to the edge fitness center by the Christiana Mall. I really wanted to give this gym another chance due to them being closer to my home and being more convenient.. They are telling me there is a problem but would not be clear with me. It has now been 7 days. I have tried to reach out to the manager Halley Badman but can’t get through. Again I feel discriminated against. I can’t believe a gym membership has come down to this I will never go away, I believe the good people in the Brookside Community need to be informed..

Amanda is great! My daughter and I were not confident and had know clue what we were doing. In the past couple of days she has made us feel so comfortable and less self-conscious/gym shy, thanks to her. Btw, she juggled around 5 of us separately and not once did my daughter or me feel like we were lacking attention. Also, the entire staff gets an A+ for customer service in my book!

During the pandemic..this is the ONLY planet fitness to remain open 24 hours. Excluding the weekend. I really appreciate the owner looking out for the members who can only hit the gym after midnight. Kudos..might make this one my new home gym.

Very clean, most of people is wearing mask 😷👌 and the staff are really friendly. In the app they explain how to use the machine using a QR code, pretty easy and simple to use.

Would like to comment on cleanliness and how nice the gym is but since it isn’t open 24 hours, I arrived at 7 on Sunday (posted as opening at 7 am) only to join an ever growing group people waiting for any staff member to show up. It is now 7:15 and no sign of anyone to open up shop. Disappointing when you wake up ready to kill a good workout and your day. Come on!
