Was recommended OVM by a close friend, was told I should work with Blake S. We were having great communication and results….. until all of the sudden we could no longer work with Blake due to a change in company policy. So our loan was given to another loan officer at OVM Maria T. and this Is where things got rocky. We were told they couldn’t honor our original interest rate and we’d have to be locked in at a higher rate.. We were then told our closing date would have to be postponed because OVM couldn’t find an appraiser they approved of. Nearly 4 weeks after our original closing date and countless hours of begging for answers and just plain twirling our thumbs waiting we finally are told we can close. Well then we get told we’ll have to wait another day to close and that our interest rate lock would expire that day. Luckily our agent threw a fit and was able to for once get someone off their a$$ and get something done so we could close. One of the most frustrating experiences of our life’s. If you don’t want to take my word for it just look at the latest reviews and you’ll see this seems to be a trend.

This has been the most challenging journey of my life and I am so glad, that Mike and LIz were apart of my team. If you want the best team and peole who really care and that is over top awesome at their craft. This team I believe no one can lose because they are winners and they will male sure you win too. I can write forever about the challenges but what stuck out the most is they made me feel they cared and they made a promise and it happened. Best services by far

My spouse and I were less than thrilled with Bill Lowden and Daniel P. due to poor communication. After an initial phone call with Bill and Daniel, they seemed eager to get us pre-approved and answer questions. Not long after, they became nearly impossible to get ahold of in a timely manner which put our home buying process further behind than we had hoped. We did not feel confident in Daniel's answers to our questions and he did not seem knowledgeable. We would not recommend working with either of these individuals since their responses are neither timely nor professional. However, Blake Salmon with OVM is much better at communicating and has been a breath of fresh air compared to the other two. Blake got us pre-approved and has been easy to get ahold of when needed.

This company came onto my property and placed their marketing signs on my home without asking permission or informing me. I would not use a company with shady marketing techniques.

It was a great experience to have my mortgage loan process by OVM. They are very responsive and will communicate with me via phone, text or email. Kaylan and Laura were very friendly and excellent processing all my paper work, letting me know what was needed and giving me updates throughout the whole process. The whole loan application was digital and very easy to upload all the documents. I will definitely come back to OVM if I refinance or need a new mortgage.

I have had several mortgages over the years, and I must say this was the best experience I've had. Blake Salmon and Matt we're excellent. Their customer service professionalism, and attention to detail during our loan process was outstanding. I would recommend them for anyone who wants a home mortgage loan and needs someone they can trust. We did check with two other mortgage companies and chose them, and we're so glad we did!

Working with Delorn Smith and Maria Toney was nothing short of amazing. They were very knowledgeable and just amazing people to work with. Buying a house is a very exciting but stressful event, but they were amazing at just calming my anxiety. They would answer my millions questions and it did not matter the time of day. I really would recommend them 100%!

Super easy to work with. I was able to get a better interest rate than we initially discussed. Overall the experience was amazing, especially being a first time home buyer. OVM Financial team worked with me and made sure I was able to get the best rates possible. Even in the midst of Covid this team went all out. They kept me notified of all changes that were happening as soon as then happened. If I ever buy in VA again, OVM will be my first and only option.

Rep Anthony Debure was incompetent and not knowledgeable. As a customer; he never called me first; I had to call him whenever I had a question or wanted to move forward with the loan process. He did not reply to my email or final call. I was deciding between OVM or quicken loans. The quicken loans rep made sure to call or email every single day to check in. He provided excellent customer service and was very knowledgeable. Needless to say; I have moved forward with quicken loans. Anthony Debure has cost OVM a customer . I will not be recommending or referring anyone to OVM.

I have bought a couple of other houses and Ill tell you my experience can not compare to the experience i had with Ivy Perez. She was patient with me and all my questions, she explained everything to me in detail and she made this process very very easy for me. I would recommend OVM especially Ivy to anyone I know. The experience at OVM, in particular with Bryan Myles was not a pleasant one at all. The first time I spoke to Mr. Myles he wasn’t courteous. If he spoke with my Mother twice that was a lot. His communication skills needs work. He wasn’t helpful and didn’t aid us in the application process. He handed in our paperwork to the underwriter without careful review with ultimately lead to a sabotaged deal. We signed endless papers and did the final walk through and after two months ended up with nothing. Left a bad taste in my mouth. Unsatisfied for sure.

I had a truly fabulous experience with OVM Financial. Robert was my primary loan officer and his assistant Macy worked closely with me through the whole process. She was extremely professional, personable, and made documentation matters extremely effortless. I really appreciated her warm personality and expertise. I can not thank Ivy and her assistant Amanda enough. Along, with whomever was the underwriter. I had so many issues with a previous lender I spent working with for over 2 months and they wasted my time and stressed me out to the max, brought my file to Ivy and she said I will get this done for you and have you closed by specific date, a week later, I was closed and in my home. I had stressed so much and Amanda and Ivy did as much as they could to keep me in check and get the process completed. I was clear to close a week later and closed on the exact day she said. The only reason I put one star was because it’s needed to post a review. I’m surprised to see so many people pleased and happy with this company. My husband and I had the worst experience ever with working with JAMES OAKS. James is unprofessional, rude and lack of communication. As first time home buyers he did not explain the process throughly and he didn’t listen to to the instructions of contacting me and not my husband being that he was deployed. Our closing date was pushed back due to his lack of communication and then on the closing date it took everything hours to be processed due to his poor time management. By the look of reviews, everyone else is better than JAMES OAKS. So please be mindful with the dealing with JAMES OAKS because he is very much so BAD BUSINESS.

We were kept in the loop throughout the entire loan process via e-mail notifications of what information was needed from us and where we were regarding our loan. A huge shout-out to Jenna who was our go-to person the entire time. She initially worked at the office and then continued to provide top-notch service from her home with small children as Covid-19 changed everyone's lives. Matt Beckwith and his team at OVM Financial are beyond top-rate. They made buying my first home low-stress and walked me through the entire process, despite the current global pandemic. I will absolutely recommend the team at OVM Financial and Matt to every person I know who is looking to purchase a house, or refinance.

We had a horrible experience with OVM Financial, specifically with Bill Lowden. We met with him to go over our credit, the home buying process, etc and he seemed very enthusiastic to work with us. We discussed with him that we knew there were some things we had to work on and he was confident he could get it together. He even recommended us to a credit person to help build our credit. Within a month, he completely ghosted us. He stopped responding to emails and phone calls. The man he sent us to for the credit also ghosted us and didn’t help us with the credit, even after paying him for 2 months. We gave up quickly realizing he wasn’t going to help us. We have since bought a home through a different company. While I’m sure OVM Financial is not a bad company to work with, I would highly recommend not going through Bill Lowden unless you have a perfect credit background and plan to close on a home quickly.

Having worked for the federal government for over a decade, I thought I knew what incompetence, ineffectiveness, inefficiency, frustration, and uselessness looked like. That was until I started dealing with OVM Financial and their sad excuse for underwriters. Their incompetence cost me to miss my closing date, and eat a lot of money in moving expenses as a result. The single worst customer service experience I have ever had. Absolutely trash. I gave them all of the information they requested of me 10 different ways and it was never good enough. They are a very pathetic group that is extremely frustrating to work with. They have big issues answering your call, calling you back, and even communication amongst their own. The left hand never seemed to know what the right hand was doing (which wasn’t much, let me tell you). If I could give a zero star review I would. Having read this, if you decide to bring your business to OVM, you get what you deserve. Do not say you weren’t warned. Absolute trash, as well as anyone who recommends them as well. And to the OVM person who is going to write back to me review “Thank you for bringing this to our attention…” spare me, dont waste your time, there is no fixing this type of garbage.dealing with the intellectual defecation that came across my email on the daily took years off of my life

My partner and I didn't have a great experience with the Matt Beckwith team. We worked specifically with Angelo King. They were hard to get in touch with at times. Their portal did not work at all for my partner so it was super frustrating for him to try to get his documents uploaded. They had to get me involved with trying to reach out to my employer of 3 years ago and couldn't verify my employment only two business days before closing. You could imagine the stress I was in. They also wouldn't give us information about our rates transparently. They only gave us a better rate after we showed them rates for a different loan company. It was not a smooth and streamlined process. This is our second home we have closed on so we know what a good lender is like compared to a bad one now.

They are very nice when start but if don’t get approved they move on to next person no call backs no answer no anything Melissa Rishel never called back we never received a email on how we can fix the issue if your looking for a lender that will truly work for you she is not it .

OVM Financial were a pleasure to work with. Mike, Angelique and Paul were attentive, responsive, and gave me a great interest rate. Their rate was the best I could find after shopping around for a while. I highly recommend their services.

If I could I give them a no star rating but I can't so this would have to do for now. They are the worst I've dealt with because I recommended my parents to them and they did a terrible job. I have use them before and I though they would give the same treatment they gave me but that obviously didn't happen. I had to call out Aggie Hanson and Ben temple one of the owners of OVM. I shouldn't have to call them if they did their job and give out good customer service. They made my parents jump through hoops on the day of signing and were never on page with anyone expect their own. I will never ever use this lender again or recommend anyone here again. Please be careful if you plan on using this lender because they are not honest about anything with their customers.

I’m not familiar with other mortgage companies in the Hampton Roads area, but I’m sure they have to be better than OVM. Robert Temple and his team’s incompetence is unfathomable. The customer experience we received from them was unbelievably terrible. We were jerked around because of their poor communication, including rushing to provide documents at the last minute that they could have asked for days to weeks earlier. Then we showed up to our closing appointment just to receive a phone call from Robert that he still hadn’t gotten our closing approved with his underwriters. Again, for things that should have been straightened out days if not weeks before. Save yourself the hassle and choose a different mortgage company.

Saved us when a big bank left us high and dry with just two weeks before closing. Pattie and her team worked so quickly to collect all of our paperwork, secure a competitive rate and take us across the finish line. We felt well cared for at every step. Pattie and Beth managed all communications professionally and efficiently. We are so grateful for their commitment to getting us to closing in record time.

Chip and his team made the process easy and quick. I got offered one of the lowest interests in the market. We were able to close within three weeks which was extremely important factor. Thank you OVM for overall pleasurable experience.

If it weren't for Ms. Laura Bullock at OVM financial, I think I would have lost my mind. She never made me feel as if I was bothering her and she responded to my emails in a timely matter. She completely understood my anxiety of the whole first time process. Im deducting one star because there were a few that I had conversations with there and I felt they lacked empathy or assurance of help. Don't say things like "Don't hesitate to reach out" in the interim and when I do, you give off the aura like I'm a pest.. but, I get it.. I shouldnt expect anyone to be emotionally invested. Anyways all in all I give all the praise to Ms. Bullock. She's awesome and although I never got to physically meet her, I want to thank her again for dealing with me professionally and with respect.

Mr. Lowden was consistently in contact and looking out for me through the entire process. I highly recommend his services. OVM Financial was recommended to me by a friend. Initially, when I went to be qualified to buy a home I saw I could have confidence in them. My home buying process turned out to be great! They kept me informed, answered all my questions so that I understood pertinent details, if there was an issue they assisted me towards resolving a problem, and connected me with associated businesses necessary to complete the home buying process. What I really liked was that they always returned my text/call or email; that is a mark of professionalism. The whole process went smooth to closing. Secondly, they were genuinely personable, and never seemed too busy to speak to me. Should the question come up to me in the future I would recommend OVM.

Mike was the most trustworthy, thorough, and hardworking person involved in the closing on our new home. More responsive than any agent or lawyer. As a first time buyer, he not only helped educate me on every aspect of the decision I made (as well as looking at different options), but he helped me understand the process of selling my husband’s current home and things to look for during the purchase of my our new home together. This was beyond his duty and I honestly felt like he was my advocate through everything. Working with Mike was my favorite part of this process. He will treat you right. And I will ONLY recommend him to my friends and family for financing. Chip went above and beyond for my husband and I. He kept in touch with us about everything and ensured we were in a safe price point without stretching too far.
