I cannot say enough good things about Orion Lending. My account manager Amy Rios is the absolute best, she is always right on top of everything and her communication is second to none. My ae Michelle Wilde is always happy to help with scenarios and guideline questions. They both won't hesitate at all if you ever need anything from them! I've had the pleasure of working with these two for several years now, and this team is fantastic! They are truly my favorite!

Currently in the process of trying to close on a house. They have good rates and desirable terms but it has been 60 days and communication with my broker appears to have been subpar. Maybe it’s both. But I cannot clearly ascertain. All paperwork has been furnished immediately upon request. I have not received a commitment letter nor any suggestion of a date of closing so I can plan my life with three kids now selling my current home despite attempting to ascertain these needed items. Looking at all of the reviews I am nervous as others have been about being homeless with three children as I sold my current house due to a needed timeline. I have a great income, little risk and excellent credit so I am not certain why the delay. Pending this gets completed within the next two weeks I will gladly update this review to excellent but at this time process with this company and being the one on the outside has a lot to be desired. Looking at the positive reviews and becoming panicked I have called Orion as well and I sincerely hope someone can help and get this turned around fast. Update: soon after this review was written my loan officer and Orion representative were able to connect. I am happy to say that the house did indeed close on time and with conditions as promised.

I am a Mortgage Broker, and I can say that out of all of the lenders I have dealt with, Orion is the best. David Blum is my AE and Daniela Colucci is my AM. Both are TOP NOTCH industry professionals who are willing to help no matter what time of day/night and they truly care about their job. The entire team at Orion plays a huge role in my success, and I can’t thank everyone enough for all that they do. I have learned quickly that it’s hard to find people who you can trust to get the job done in this business, but these folks knock it out the park every time. From initial loan submission, underwriting, closing/funding, it’s always a smooth transaction. I have no complaints, I always receive 5 star service and so do my clients. They will continue to be my go to lender. Thanks team!

** I just read through the reviews. There are a lot of bad ones. People need to understand that a lender is as good as the loan officer. If you have a loan officer that puts a file together properly, most lenders are about the same. Yes, turn times can vary but a loan officer can work with those turn times by foreseeing conditions and not totally relying on a lender to do the work for you. Orion is a great lender. Take these bad reviews with a grain of salt. I just closed two loans with them today and they bent over backwards to make sure they closed. Great experience. I have been a mortgage broker for years. Orion has consistently been a really good lender for my team. They are able to do your hardest loans (down to 580 score/manual u/w) and your easiest loans (they win your savvy borrower because they have some of the best rates in the industry). Plus they have many programs for down payment assistance etc. I can't say for sure all teams are as good as the one I use at Orion (Clark Knoblock). But I can say for sure that his team is incredible. Jason and his team provide the perfect combination of quality and experience. Jason is sharp with guidelines and being able to always guide us on new scenarios. His team provides quality support and moves things quickly. We have no trouble closing deals in 2 weeks. Our underwriter is always accessible. We love working with Orion! After reading some of the negative reviews, I would like to add that your Broker/LO has a lot to do with your experience. If you are an experienced and knowledgeable Broker/LO and you know how to package your deals, that is going to make the process much easier and quicker. Also, we have worked with Orion for several years now. We have built relationships with Jason and his team. These relationships help us all work together as a Team which, in turn, makes us all more successful.

Got all the way to the point of ordering the appraisal just for them to say they can’t locate an appraiser in my area. Finally found one paid the $625 just for them to say they couldn’t get ahold of them. On top of that incompetent underwriter was miscalculating numbers and not responding to the title company to give them what they need. Was supposed to close around 4/29 now I’m going to have to find another lender. 100/10 do NOT recommend. They’re probably paying people to post good reviews.

Working with this lender has been an absolute nightmare. We got to the 11th hour a few days from closing just for them to back out of the loan because they realized my property was designated "rural." Why didn't they check the property location and zoning first? What a waste of time. Not to mention they had terrible and poor communication with the appraisal company (Class Valuation) and had me waiting for days for something I thought they requested in a timely manner and they didn't. Not to mention, I had to pay $1,000 for a rush appraisal that wasn't even turned around in the promised "rushed" timeline. I do NOT recommend working with this company.

Thank you everyone for getting this done like we did, in record time. I just got back home from the closing and in tears, my client in labor, not kidding either, made it to her closing, and rushed off to the hospital. Two days in a row, I watched the impossible happen for two families that never thought they would ever achieve home ownership. Two perfect examples of why I am in this industry and a great humbling reminder to me that I can’t do this job without all those that carry the burden with me, work ridiculous hours and sacrifice family time to make other’s dreams a reality.
