Based upon the reviews here, NEXA appears to be very hit or miss, depending upon which broker you get. My fiance and I got Daniel August, and we were extremely pleased with him. He was insanely responsive, kindly responding to our calls and texts immediately all the time. 100% recommend him!

Whatever you do, please do not get your home loan through NexaMortgage . What was supposed to be a wonderful experience has turned into an absolute nightmare! And now I am at the mercy of people who can't even be bothered to answer the phone. I shouldn’t even have to contact anyone; they should be reaching out to me, especially after they fired the incompetent loan officer who had my loan. I should have received an apology and a guarantee that everything is being taken care of. I've been trying to purchase this house for months. We were told we'd finally get a closing date this week and have heard nothing. I don't understand how anyone can run a business this way and play with people's lives. I've done everything that has been asked of me!

Worst experience of my life. Our loan officers, Sean Rogers and Nyisha Walton, offered us a grant that would cover our down payment and closing cost. We were approved for 375,000, found a beautiful home, and the day before our closing, Sean Rogers did not have our final closing disclosure prepared for us. In our contract, it stated that we would have our final CD at least 3 days before closing and he did not follow through with that. We ended up getting the final CD hours before closing and it did not reflect what we were originally offered. There was no grant, a higher interest rate, a higher mortgage payment way outside of our budget, and over $9000 in closing costs. Sean stated that he wasn’t able to get us the grant or the original interest rate because he didn’t lock it in on time. My husband and I were furious. We explained to Sean that this was not our original agreement and that there was no way we could afford a $2716.60 mortgage. He said he would find us another program before the end of the business day. That same morning he called us saying there was an issue with his partner Nyisha Walton’s license so there would be another hold up with getting the final CD released to us. At this point, it was the DAY OF our closing. At the end of the business day, Sean still had no CD for us and since we didn’t have an extension put into place because Sean insisted that we didn’t need one, we lost our $5000 earnest deposit, $500 appraisal fee, and $382 inspection fee. Sean continued to make us promise after promise and he never delivered. 6 days after our closing date Sean finally gave us a CD that was STILL way off from our original offer. He sent us a CD with over $17,000 in out of pocket fees for the closing cost, no grant, and a 5% interest rate. We were supposed to close last week. Our apartment is currently packed up and we have nowhere to go. Our move out date is April 4th and we have no home for our daughters. I’m livid. Do yourselves a favor and DO NOT do business with Nexa Mortgage!

We ended up being homeless… We started our loan process in June of 2021.. We thought we had had a loan , paid for an appraisal, title work done and everything done last month. Just to get dropped for a guideline that should have been brought up months before. We literally are homeless now and wasted almost a year with them. Living a nightmare now and all over something we could have been told before we even spent money. Worst experience of our lives.

Michael Neill lied to me about my loan for a year, the manager stated I didn’t deserve to own a home. Rude as hell, they broke several laws with our state and then lied about it. It cost me thousands to get lied to for a year by this slimy company. Went to another broker who wasn’t a liar and closed 19 days later.

Between lying to our realtor, not knowing what he’s doing, dragging his feet, and a multitude of other things, we are now ready to just cancel and lose all our money from MULTIPLE lock rates, etc. if you use this company, RUN if it turns out to be Kyle.

I am happy I left Nexa Mortgage I left without pulling clients away and not bad mouthing the company but this guy called one of my loans I had in process and running my name in the mud so unprofessional but seeing how the owner handles things I understand it is either coached or allowed.. this guy lied about everything in the transaction and putting my reputation in question. This company has so many bad actors and one day it will catch up to them. I will make next step to report this and this company.

I have had a reverse mortgage for several years and decided to to refinance it because of the great interest rates and the increased equity in my house. My agent Lisa Scarbeary was so great....she took care of everything and made they whole transaction a breeze. Since she lives in my neighborhood she was able to assist me with the on-line forms and help me get some of the documents that I needed on line as I am a little tech challenged! It was reassuring to know that she is familiar with the neighborhood and the way the prices have gone up recently. The other team members were also great...Lynette and Marie! The whole deal closed so fast and I was able to take out some cash to do some home improvements that I have been wanting to do. I am recommending Lisa and NEXA to all my senior friends.

Where do I start? The person I worked with explained nothing about the process to me, asked me to send the same paperwork more than once, changed the numbers, was rude, not helpful. It seems like the company is disorganized, doesn't care about customers, processors don't know what they are doing, brokers try to charge as much as possible and hide fees. There is something wonky about their IT setup as well. I've heard that other more well-known lenders have a very easy process to upload documents. I didn't feel valued as a customer during one single step of the process. I was looked down on and treated with disrespect when I asked questions. Avoid NEXA and go with anyone else. I think my cash to close is way higher than most people would have to bring.

I had never done business with this company before but they will definitely be my first choice for anything I may need in the future. From the start they were attentive and professional and any questions I had about my refinance were answered immediately. Everything was so easy, completely online and only took two weeks from start to finish. Cailin my loan processor wast the best ever and I loved working with her and everyone in that office. If I could rate them 100 stars I would. It was an absolute pleasure working with Tom Mancuso at Nexa. The entire process was very streamed lined, easy and he was super attentive and always there whenever I had a question even after hours. Will definitely recommend to family and friends or anyone needing their service. My refi took less then 30 days beginning to end and couldn’t be happier. Thank you guys for such an amazing team.

We opened escrow in January. Very excited, initially, to get our first home. Right from the beginning we began having issues with contacting the representative from this company. He was incredibly unresponsive and when asked a simple question like "when should we be getting the appraisal?" There was no direct answer. We just kept being told that it was taking 45 days to close on a house at this time. So we were patient. 45 days came and went and we ended up having to extend 4 more times because it was one thing after another with this company bringing up things that should have been brought up in the beginning. Always needing more inspections and more time. They moved very slowly with everything they had to do. Before we knew it 3 months had gone by and the seller was tired of waiting. When I brought up that the seller was going to cancel I was told by the company that she was just trying to get us to close. The next day she cancelled the deal. My realtor and I had reached out multiple times to management to get some sort of help with no response whatsoever. Multiple professionals on the deal voiced that this was the worst experience they've had dealing with a mortgage company and that they seemed to not care about customer service at all. Avoid this company .

Avila was absolutely amazing! We got thrown into a crazy situation trying to buy our rental and I’d never looked into buying a house before. Started out well- good communication and was on track to close. On the day before closing, issues came up with our DTI. The lender and underwriter couldn’t agree on our DTI. Our loan was delayed a total of 3x. After the 3rd delay, I was ghosted for 2.5 weeks. It took them a total of 53 days to let me know I have reduce 1k in debt/ month or increase income by 1k/ month. It’s pretty insane to know how bad the situation was and they still strung me along this long. I do not recommend this company. The delays and non communication at the very last minute could’ve jeopardized our deal. I acted quick and switched lenders to a local bank without even telling nexa. They closed my loan in 12 days. We finally received a response from nexa after we closed with new lender! I believe my loan officers are inexperienced since they calculated my DTI wrong from the very beginning. They wasted a whole bunch of time where I could’ve switched lenders. Now I have pay a delayed penalty and also pay for a new appraisal. This is the worst experience I’ve had with a lender. My loan officer Benjamin Sobanski and his staff were incredibly knowledgeable, courteous, timely, and anything else you could possibly ask for. He gave me wonderful advice that led to a great refinance on our mortgage- going from a 30 year to a 15 year, eliminating many years off our loan, securing a lower rate, and a lower monthly payment. Tyler Lucks was unable to provide any written documentation showing my loan cost/loan estimate, Truth-in-Lending disclosure showing all the fees. i requested that from Tyler and he simply said " I do not like to be shopped around" FYI, All lenders must provide you with a Loan Estimate within three business days of receiving your application. I personally do not recommend working with a company that hides their fees. Buyers do you homework and shop around

Believe the 1 star reviews. This was the absolute worst experience as a first-time home buyer. I went under contract in August utilizing a NON-QM loan. Weeks go by without a word. My agent and the selling agent could barely get the loan officer to respond. The day before my financing contingency ended, my agent and I found out that the first lender could not finance my loan. The LO told me that she had found a new lender and we would be able to close. That was NOT the case. By October, I still had no closing date! The seller was over it and didn’t want to extend. I decided to back out of this train wreck as it was extremely stressful. As a result, I lost my earnest money and everything else relating to this home purchase. Don’t bother seeking reimbursement or assistance from corporate. They’ll waste even more of your time. If you’re considering using Nexa, I would highly suggest you don’t. Run far away as you can! EDIT: They do NOT respond to your email to conduct a "internal investigation."

Called me trying to convince me to use their service because of how "exceptionally clean and fast" they are. When I pushed for details and facts to support the person got defensive and when I reminded them that most buyers go directly to a lender rather than pay a broker unnecessary fees to make that call first for them, she had no response. When I asked to be transferred to a Manager for more info she hung up on me. Buyers Beware - brokers are NOT the same as loan officers!!!

I am a real estate agent and was representing the seller. Nexa was representing the buyer and had the file for almost 2 months because we needed time to find a new home for my clients. The day before closing, they said they couldn’t read the escrow check (even though they had it for the entire time) and closing was delayed. Keep in mind that my sellers have already packed up their home and can’t buy their new home without this closing. Said it would close one day late. Next day, now they found a typo in the home insurance policy and can’t close again. Again, why wasn’t this found sooner. Promised to close the next day. Third day, now the client supposedly doesn’t have enough funding to cover the closing costs (again, why wasn’t this asked for the day before closing). I am beyond livid at this point and my clients are sleeping on an air mattress with their 2-year old but no one seemed motivated to help. I was promised the closing package would go out on Friday (which it did) but guess what, they didn’t bother to check that the title company was closed for the holiday and now Nexa is closed on Monday. Would be nice if the companies had coordinated this because now 3 more days have passed. “I promise first thing Tuesday morning it will be cleared up” and with us being EST and them PST, I asked so it will be sent at 8am and the answer was yes. Guess who was still waiting at 1pm for the closing package? I’m texting the loan officer every 30 minutes at this point because my clients new house was threatening legal action. Good luck if you choose this company and when the loan officer said there are 17 rush files ahead of you, that shows me there is a massive problem. If I’m ever working on the seller side and see this company as the lender, their offer will be rejected.

It all started well, my former lender denied me 4 weeks into closing, Nelson Christopher Thompson Jr worked hard to fix the issue they were experiencing. He found the problem and addressed it with me, we changed my loan so no more issues would occur on my end and they did not! However 2 days before I was set to get on the plane to leave my current state I asked if everything was fine because, I not only had to inform my current rental property but I had the opportunity to pull out of my hotel stay. He and the processor both told me all was well so I continued forward. The NEXT DAY, he called to tell me that my interest rate needed to be changed and that would push my closing back 9 days. Long story short, I paid for a hotel stay that I could not back out of, had to pay additional for my flight change (that he said he would take care of but didn't) and I had to stay with a friend (me, my young son and dog). I was so upset because the whole time they told all of us (listing agent, my realtor and myself that closing was on track). Moving forward, I'm on the plane 8 days later he text me to call him on my layover. I did and he said that the appraisal had the wrong lender on it and that they had to get another appraisal done. He said it won't be done until that Monday (this was Thursday) and that he paid for it (he said this as if he was doing me a favor). Closing was set for Tuesday, it didn't happen because clear to close didn't occur. We finally closed on Thursday. I spent money on a hotel stay that could have been avoided if they would of told me otherwise, a flight change and 6 days in a hotel room with again my dog and small child. My things came and I had no where to put them so I had to store the stuff in my hotel room. I moved 4 times already because of Nelson. NELSON NEVER APOLOGIZED!!! He never took blame or acceptance that this was ALL his fault. He is not someone to work with. He was not empathetic of my situation that HE put me in. In response to me asking him for the flight change money, he responds, he paid for the new appraisal. PLEASE DON'T USE HIM!!! And just a little icing on the cake, he took a vacation during the time my closing was suppose to happen. He's vacationing while I'm staying at a hotel with my son and dog, smh. I complained to Nexa's directors with no response as of yet. I insisted that my lender never use Nelson again, I wouldn't wish this experience on anyone else.

If it was possible to give NEXA more than 5 stars, I would! David Ryder helped me find financing when I had completely given up hope. He was a wonderful "trail guide" through the process and explained everything patiently and thoroughly.
