It only took one interview for us to know that Kyle and Paul were the agents that were best for us. Helena and the Keri Shull team were a huge assets in a crazy homebuyers market! She set custom searches based on our housing and school zone needs, provided valuable market knowledge and insight, and guided us through the process. I was also very impressed with the post closing support. I hadn't expected to hear much from the realtor after closing, but Helena and the team came through with a nice welcome basket, pizza delivery for moving day, and the use of their 14' box truck to finish out the move. I met Rachel Toda early in the year (2021) when I was starting the process of buying a house. We met near the Catholic University where she was working on selling a property. I approached her and asked her for information about the place. She was very friendly and knowledgeable about questions that I had. I loved her positive and friendly attitude. She asked, without any pressured, if I want to sit down with her for a coffee and discuss the potential to work with her. She was very professional during the conversation, and my journey began. Throughout the process, Rachel provided guidance on look fors regarding the properties such as location, finishes, value of the property, etc. She also created a personal portal which allowed me to view houses on the market that matched my interest. We went to several open houses and visited other houses all around the DMV area. She had a whole team to work with from title, loan, inspection, and professional builders. She remained in communication whenever there was a property that match my interest. Later in the year, we were able to find a house and without hesitation, Rachel once again walked me through the process to make an offer, and I finally got the house. Rachel was as excited or even more than I was that we finally have gotten an offer accepted. She also helped me get credits from the seller so I could complete repairs. When I was done, Rachel continued to check on me and ensure that the moved to the new house was smooth. She also sold my property in record time. She provided input on improvements that my property needed, created a well thought out market strategy and provided a fair market value using market data. Nick Gashel and Elisa Stephano were amazing! I was living out of state at the time and trying to buy a home in Washington, DC within a few months. I needed things to move quickly so I would try to get as much done when I traveled to DC. I interviewed a few realtors in the area, but once I sat down and started talking to Nick and Elisa, I knew right away that they were my realtors. Amy Harasz and Abby Snoznik worked with me to get my first home. I met with Kyle Russell at Keri Shull over 3 years ago when I was looking to understand how to put myself in the best position to buy a house. Even though I told him I wouldn’t be buying for at least two years because I was in school (meaning he had almost no short-term incentive to meet with me) he immediately responded and took me seriously from the beginning. We set up a meeting, during which he gave me a full debriefing on the home buying process, gave me contacts for loan officers, and put me on a path to being able to buy a house later on down the line. Erin Johnson was extremely professional and on top of her game while working with us on purchasing our first home. She was able to arrange an impressive closing for us in under 30 days. We enjoyed working with Drew Carpenter from the Keri Shull team so much when we bought our house a couple of years ago that it was a no brainer to contact him again when it came time to sell the property. My partner and I worked with Kyle Russell who was forward leaning, communicative, anticipated our needs and honestly went above and beyond what we expected from a realtor. As as first-time buyers, we had no idea what we were getting ourselves into when we set out on this journey. We spent months searching with a different realtor and it just was not working out for us. But our experience completely changed when we started working with Angela Decint and the Keri Shull Team. Angela made a stressful and confusing process feel so simple, and dare I say even fun. Angela swiftly set up a MLS search (while out of town on vacation), and did plenty of fine tuning based on conversations about our needs and wants. I highly recommend working with Lauren Longshore and Lacey Folweiler when you decide to buy your house in the DMV area! My fiancé and I were first time home buyers and they walked us through the entire process and answered all of our many questions. Lauren and Lacey were accessible to us throughout the day and evening and communicated promptly and efficiently. It was a real perk being able to have a team of two so that we had more flexibility on when we could tour houses, submit offers, etc. The housing market is incredibly intense right now and they made sure we knew how to make an offer that was competitive but still made us feel comfortable with the final outcome. They were not at all pushy and were willing to point out potential issues in a house that we hadn’t considered. Overall we would work with them again and have recommended them to our friends!

In summary, I absolutely don’t think we would have gotten our house if we had any realtor other than Rachel Morrison. We had been looking without urgency through most of 2020 and Rachel was patient with that. She was incredibly responsive throughout the process. Each time we went to see a house she had done pre-work and was able to describe the history of the house and interest from others to help us determine if it was the house for us, and how we would craft our offer. (I had no idea there could be so many strategies.) One day a house came up on MLS as “coming soon.” She sent it to us and quickly blocked off appointment time for the first viewing day, and thank goodness because it was fully booked for three days before even hitting the market. They canceled appointments and never did an open house by the second day. When we did visit, we knew was “thee” house. Rachel worked behind the scenes to advise us in putting forward our best competitive offer, (which included a non-advertised unless asked mandatory free rent back clause). She understood how anxious we were the days leading up to the decision and gave us regular updates. Her constant communication with the other realtor helped us get into the final negotiation round, and we were able to get the house for less than the highest offer. I just felt like Rachel was almost as personally invested as we were through this journey. If we had been with an agent less responsive, we would not have been able to see the house. Had we been with one not as proactive or experienced, we would not have gotten the house. Rachel then sold our previous house for 10% over asking, which was 12% over what we thought was the high end of what we could get, in just two days on the market. It was spring of 2021 so the market was really hot, but the Keri Shull team did an excellent job marketing and managing the offers coming in. I hope we don’t have to buy or sell again for a few decades, but when we do, hopefully Rachel will answer our call.

Stefanie Pentz helped me find a new rental unit and she made the experience painless, even pleasant! She was so responsive and treated me like I was going to bring a big commission. She was able to get me in to see all the places I wanted and her relationships with other realtors resulted in my getting an offer $200/mo lower than listing with a waived pet fee.
