Ideal Credit Union Tamarack Rd, Woodbury

This credit union has strayed far from its roots as Postal Credit Union. We joined in the 1980's because we found it to be friendly and custom oriented. I could walk into the North St. Paul branch and talk to real people. Now they put up roadblocks to working with staff. Have a simple request? Call the central switchboard number and spend 10-15 minutes on hold, if you are lucky. The final straw was going into the office with a question on my mortgage and being given a phone number to call to resolve a problem. I could not talk to a representative without making an appointment. I got home and found the number was a fax number. I had two options call the central switchboard and be put on a long hold or drive up to the Woodbury office again to have a teller give me the correct loan servicing number. Customer service NEVER was this poor with this credit union even 10 years ago. Sadly, after about 25 years, we are taking our business to another credit union where we can walk in without an appointment and talk to a real person..

Same as the recent comments. Ideal CU lacks customer service and not surprised I see other comments stating the same! We are long standing customers that now will be fully banking with Spire CU as they take care of their people!

I have found this credit union to be one of the worst I have ever done business with. I financed a fifth wheel camper, paid it of and closed my account. Request a check for balance and received with in a week. One and half month later they said they over paid me for balance. I said how could that happen when you are the one doing the book work. They said I had too return $100.00 which they sent me. Whatch out for lack of accountability and trust. Do yourself a favor find another credit union.

Beware! This credit union is slow and unable to perform any tasks with your money beyond the simplest transactions. They are really nice people, but it is solely for little old ladies that deposit their monthly check by physically going into the bank, write a check for groceries once a week, and maybe withdraw $20 for some "extra spending money." Anything involving digital banking or any of that scary computer stuff is beyond their capabilities and will result in frustration.

Stolen Identity and Direct Deposit of Social Security Disability RSDI checks caused the taking of January Febuary and March Social Security RSDI Disability Checks. And Fraudulent accusation of $2,000.00 withdraw of funds I've never received from Social Security Disability RSDI in 29 yrs. Of being on RSDI. I'm a man barely surviving on what little I do get. And sadly the account was closed without notice or warning because of Ideal Credit Union wanting not only S.S. Disability fraudulant monies but also a remaining balance that came out of no where. I am convinced of Identity Theft. This will be reported to proper authorities! *Advice for the unbeknownst: Anyone wanting to choose this financial institution as a trusted, reliable, helpful resource for your hard earned money or S.S. checks needs to investigate thoroughly what you're getting into. I don't recommend this bank under no circumstances. Take your private, we-earned to a trusted financial institution.

I'm still a member (since 1982). I joined when I became a new employee with USPS. Postal Credit Union was fantastic. Over the years all my kids joined. I now bank elsewhere because I was no longer treated with respect any more. It was like I was a stranger to them. I heard lots of excuses as to why my banking needs couldn't get done.....I'm very happy elsewhere.

This bank is so so slow. There are times I wonder if anyone is even working the drive through and the tellers inside aren't any faster. Bank anywhere but here and save yourself some time.

I was experiencing a number of problems with Ideal, but Marcus Winter the manager at the Woodbury location addressed each of those problems and both explained and corrected each of the issues I had. Even though my experience with some of their reps was less than satisfactory, the branch manager did make things right.

Ideal Credit Union has met my family's financial needs for over 20 years. The staff is knowledgeable and very kind. We feel welcome when we interact with all staff there. We have never been happier with a financial institution.

Customer service rep is incompetent. I called the bank to question about a fee charge . The rep didn't even know what a "ATM Withdraw foriegn transaction fee" was and took her 5 minutes to make up lies and refuse to help. I have never had any problems with the bank. But who ever I spoke with she needs more training on customer service and be more knowledgeable on bank schedule fees.
