I was referred to Stearns Lending by my realtor this June of 2020. The initial call with Eric Gutierrez seemed to go well but after we started the process, his attitude and demeanor completely took a turn for the worst. He began criticizing my situation and belittling me. When I started asking questions about the process, he refused to answer my concerns, would not respond to my text or emails. Calls with Eric were hostile right up front and brought no value to any of my concerns. I’m a single mother of 2, divorced for 4 years now and trying to move ahead in life. Eric Gutierrez made this process a complete nightmare. I ended up getting a new loan officer who was able to get me the loan I needed without the harassment. This was the first time in my life I felt treated with disrespect because I am a women. I would not recommend doing business with Eric Gutierrez.

If I could rate them a 0 I would do so! If you are looking for a lender who first off approves our buyer for a 450k loan, and then months later after the establish closing date passes that they delayed, deny the buyers loan because he has been self employed 21 months instead of their requirement of 24 months. You should have known this upfront! If you are looking for a lender that is a terrible communicator with all involved, apparently doesn't care about delaying established closing dates then good luck with Stearns! I'm the seller and we did finally close after they approved a co-signer but I'm writing this review so others understand they are terrible!

Lyn was excellent and made the mtg process painless and transparent. Very professional and provided us with updates throughout the entire process. Highly recommend Lyn Wall if you are considering getting a mtg.

Isaias and his team did great! Attention to detail and concern for customers needs is amazing. I am soo happy I got to work with such a great team. I will recommend Stearns lending to everyone! Not enough stars to rate the great job they did.

DO NOT USE THIS LENDER. Consider my review a zero star review. Simply put, this company will ruin the entire home buying process for you and give you an aneurysm with how much pain and frustration they will cause you. We had to jump through hoops and push a number of associates just to do their job and move the process along. Typically you should have at least a week to prepare for closing with a firm date. Our original date came and went without any communication. We couldn't even get a hold of anyone to figure out what was going on. Just horrible. Upon pushing Stearns to get their act together, we got notification of our confirmed closing date less than 48 hours out. We had to rush to take time off, gather our cashiers check and navigate a moving truck. The closing process took over five hours in the title company and we didn't even close until the day after. They failed to get numbers and they failed multiple times to get our credits added to the numbers after having acknowledgement of them a month prior. I never had a feeling of "wow, I'm a home owner", only feeling of relief that I was done having to work with Stearns. I don't have a ton of experience in the real estate industry but I know this is not how it's supposed to go. There was little to no communication and I feel like I had to prompt every person I dealt with at Stearns to just do their job. If you don't tell them to do something three times it absolutely will not get done. If anything I hope my experience can save someone else by reading this. Our realtor even said of the 3 people she recommended to this company, all 3 were messed up and missed the closing date. Pick any other lender out there. I will be filing a BBB complaint as this was pure negligence by this company.

Matt was great providing us a very good first-time buyers experience. He is very personable and easy to talk to. Starting with the first conversation until after our closing, Matt was always very supportive and available, answering the several (several!) questions we had, guiding us through all the different terms and papers, discussing options, making adjustments and working with our realtor and layers. It was very surprising how quick and smooth the loan process went. Definitely much better than I expected. I highly recommend Matt.
