Golden 1 Credit Union Golden Gate Ave, San Francisco

Although this was the first bad experience I've had with Golden 1 in my eight years of being a loyal customer, I do want to mention it because it was very inconvenient. I had an official document from the city that was stamped and everything. But management wouldn't accept it; merely because the employee from the County Clerk's office had applied whiteout on something I had written in cursive, and then had me write it in print right next to it. Furthermore, all the information matched perfectly with my business license, which is an even more official document. In their sheer rigidity, they refused to accept the perfectly valid document and they ended up closing my business checking account which I had spent a lot of time and energy to get opened. Now I have to go to Bank of America or another bank to open a business checking account and deal with having two different banks moving forward. They also refused to allow me to deposit checks that were addressed to my business name into my personal checking account, which would have been the easiest alternative. It's just a pure lack of willingness to accommodate the customer.

I went to the nearest credit union ATM I put my access number deposited 220$ 12/20/17 at 7am & it never went in my account they’re thieves!... I had a Navy federal credit union card it should still work. I was in the army. I don’t deserve to lose my hard earned money!... what they did was wrong! How dare they let the machine steal from me.

Poor slow service. Staff couldn’t even do basic Transactions. Got very frustrated and left. Called 800 service number and asked them to close my account. Branch at 500 Golden Fate Avenue just didn’t care about giving service.

Excellent Credit Union, I recommend this institution very highly. The staff is always so happy and helpful, and full smiles! Update they held a check for 3 days to ensure validly and so they clear it and then it some how bounces! Not happy with them now I don’t recommend them!

Very Lazy workers , Dusrepesful , If you bring coins even litli bit thay dont want calculating! Thay will ask you! I'm not surprised why no a lot of customers in line! Or no line , Called to Customers service but thay protect each others! Very bad Bank!

If you have low hearing it is impossible to activate your card over the phone!They have the a voice to give you instructions but the VOLUME IS TURNED ALL THE WAY DOWN!No regard for the hearing impaired whatsoever!

Excellent customer service, good hours, and all the benefits a credit union gives you over a bank. They just renovated the interior as well, very light and clean.

Friend was robbed here and no one assisted. They were unable to recognize suspicious behavior or a person in distress.
