First Midwest Bank N Halsted St, Chicago

Our company's manager came here at 12:57 p.m. on a Saturday to get a debit card that they keep trying to avoid issuing him, and they literally electronically locked the door when they saw him, a Black man. That's just a fact. You can interpret that as you see fit. He was not allowed in the bank. Despite listing themselves as being open until 1:00 p.m., they "close early for lock-up procedures." Expect incompetence if you plan on banking here.

Closed downtown and Chicago Ave. branches, making it VERY inconvenient to the hindreds of customers who opened accounts and used those branches, ESPECIALLY the Chicago ave. branch. People have to travel FAR AWAY from central Chicago and business district to do their banking. Bad decision. Chase and PNC branches in area are more than ready to get those customers

I had to come in person because two weeks after I had opened an account and requested a debit card, I still hadn't received it. After calling in, a representative told me that debit cards are issued the same day in the bank and that no one put in a request to mail me one. Then, I come here on New Year's Eve, and despite being listed as open at regular hours on Google Maps, the Branch is closed. I can't even use the ATM because I don't have a debit card to get inside. 🙄 They're just a mess.

Poor costumer service, personal bankers barely try to help the customer, very ehhh. I do not recommend this branch, a waste of time, go across the street to Citibank. The lack of willingness to help is just sad. Do not go here!
