Commerce Bank Reviews
A
The staff at this branch are helpful, but the corporate account support is very poor. I've put every paycheck for over 30 years in this bank and had wonderful service for most of that time. Lately they only see me as a mark to charge fees. They were about to charge my kid's college savings accounts a fee for being "inactive" even though they make regular deposits. What a crummy way to make money.

Don't come here and expect good customer service . The staff is extemely unfriendly and unappreciative of your business . I sat down with an alleged banking specialist and she kept getting up every 5 seconds to ask her co workers the answers to all my questions . Then offered no solutions to my problems I came in for . Bottom Line don't waste your time here.!!

Thank you for the review, Billy!

Rude Branch Manager, Sandy - I have a grandmother who is 79 years old and is suffering from dementia. Over a year ago, she took me to a lawyer with her and told me that she was going to make me a power of attorney in case she ever needed someone to take care of her. Now, I am taking care of her. She writes a $45 check and asks me if I will cash it for her so she has some $ in her purse and to pick up some medication for her with it. OK... no problem. I go to the bank (whom I have sat down with and given them my paperwork). They refuse to cash the check, they tell me that I don't have the right to. OK.. first off, the check was made out to me, so .. really. Then, I come back with a copy of my POA paperwork, and they STILL refuse to cash the check. WHATEVER.... I'll deal with it another day. 2 days later, I go back up, try to cash the check for her, they call security, and pull me in a private room with the manager. I am told my security that I DO NOT have POA, and cannot cash the check. REALLY.. so I reach in my purse, put my notarized, lawyer signed POA and put it on the desk. They tell me there is suspicious activity on her account, I ask what it is. They tell me that I have been writing out her checks... UM.. SURE HAVE! I pay her bills! That's what I'm suppose to do. They want me to bring my grandmother up there. SO.. OK... I do. Remember, this poor woman has dementia, and I told them this. SURE SHE DOES, is the response I get. WOW.. ok, so we get there, and the manager (Sandy) wants to speak with my grandmother alone. OK... I'm thinking this is stupid. She takes my grandmother in her office, and she talks to her, walks out, goes to the back and comes back and asks me to come into the office. She then tells me that my grandmother is on a pension, and social security and that I should be ashamed of myself. She is closing my grandmothers checking account and will not do business with my "kind". She gives her half of what is in her account in a cashiers check and sends us on our way. I tell my grandma to go ahead and cash the check and we will figure this out later. I walk her up to the window, and the lady says she cannot cash it. I speak up and tell her that she can because the manager just issued it to her. I then tell her I need a copy of the last 30 days of her transactions. She says, "We can't do anything for you!" I put my paperwork in front of her, she looks at me and says, "doesn't matter!"... I look at my grandmother and tell her to ask for 30 days, she does, and the lady promptly hands it to her. I called my lawyer the second I walked in the house. I was treated like a second rate criminal, like some dumb teenager stealing from my poor grandmother. I buy this womans groceries for her (my money), I get her whatever she needs if she doesn't have the money, I pay her bills, I clean her house, I take her to doc appts, and anything else she needs. Sandy, the manager there is Rude, and should not be allowed to manage a bank. I also called corporate and I was assured that the matter would be looked into. My lawyer is looking into it also.
