Bank of the West Se 14th St, Des Moines

I tried to cash a check here today that was given to my daughter from her grandfather that has had an account at the bank “forever”. She is out wedding dress shopping so I told her I would cash it for her. It was legally endorsed to me. The management was not helpful or willing to work out a solution. My family has banked with this branch literally for decades, and this type of customer service is the reason for this review. I would give them 0 stars but I guess it has to be at least a one to leave the review.

Great service. I enjoy banking here . Off topic here but i am really tired of folks and their bitchy attitude and feel the need to complain on these sites. Seriously folks people have to earn a living and unless you are harmed keep your negative opinions to yourself.

There have been a couple instances were something weird has popped up on my banking statements and bank of the west is always happy to help me figure out if it’s something I should worry about. A specifc example would be today. I called in, left my question and info with a gentlemen named Bob, who did some research and called me back in minuets, with an answer. -Thanks guy!

Very incompetent service. I have tried to close my account multiple times and they have informed me that everything is good to go, only to recieve a letter from BOTW corporate that I have an unresolved balance on my account. But when I go into the branch, they inform me that it is closed down. Not great customer service in this location.

My account was not set up correctly. I was constantly getting fee after fee that they never credited that back even though it wasn’t my fault. I closed that account and now a year later I’ve gotten a collections notice even though I closed it out with a $0 balance. Now they say there is nothing they can do with the account being closed and it being so long ago. I don’t recommend this bank at all. They will take your money and they won’t help you.

these guys wouldn't cash a check issued by their own branch, didn't care about documentation or anything. also very unfriendly, glad i don't do business there.

Most disrespectful and lowest customer service quality bank I have ever banked with. Myself and atleast 5 other people that I know have banked there and switched banks because of the way they treat their customers.

Open at 930am after people are already at work and close at 4pm before you are even off work. Doesn't make no sense at all

Great customer service. They know my husband by name, always great with a smile and willing to help us.
