Astera Credit Union - Jolly Rd E Jolly Rd, Lansing

Should be zero stars!! I have been a customer with Astera when it was Auto Body back in the late 80s. I have never missed a payment on any loans have 42 years at the same employer. 34 years at the same address. Good credit score, $250,000 401K and another $80,000.00 in Stocks. But can't get a unsecured loan for $16,000.00. Thanks for nothing!!!! DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME HERE!!!!!!

They always taking forever to help ppl, idk if they low staff or what

The customer service isn’t the best at this specific branch. West Saginaw location seems to always have better customer service. I’ve been a memeber since this was auto body credit union in the 90’s. They aren’t the most helpful “credit union”, I get treated better by my “bank”. Why I don’t come here often. Unnecessary check holds, crude responses, no simple “hello” or “have a nice day” greetings in the drive thru, unwilling to increase lines of credit when the balance is zero and credit is good. Maybe after seeing this review, others will have better experiences in the future.

Good and bad.their security on your account and debit card are great. I've had my acct hacked twice and both times got my money back quickly and my acct froze for security. But one time recently I was 50 miles from home and someone in Detroit was using my acct to shop online so my acct was froze, but the only problem was I was completely stranded until the next day with no cash. I called the back of my debit card and they couldn't unlock my acct at all. I was low on gas so was stranded. I understand the security concerns but there should be a number to call to unlock it for a short time or whatever. Im just glad I didn't have my children with me in the middle of winter! Plus there after hours ATM on jolly rd is broke a lot, so once again not able to access my money. If you enter a wrong pin sometimes one time it will lock you out. Being locked out of your own acct is a real problem and being stranded. And also a few years ago they turned me and my wife down for a personal loan, so we went to lafcu and they accepted no problem at all. We have good credit and pay bills on time so don't understand why. Im looking into switching banks because being locked out with no options is a serious problem...

It's nice people but I'm not getting what I need

Dont expect your loan officer has all their information correct, just make sure you know and study the "loan" before you decide to wrap up years of your life on someone else's misinformation and unknowing of the loan they are setting up for you.

Quick and easy to make a transaction. Very friendly.

Worse service ever for a bank, I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone

was lied to about what transferring a loan would do to my credit, they bought a car loan from my other credit union and told me it wouldn't affect my score that much. I'm trying to buy a house and told them that. Well after they took on my car loan it took my score down 75pts. And now I have to wait even longer to buy my house. Will close all my accounts with them and will no longer do anything with them after my loan is paid.
