American Spirit Federal Credit Union Elkton Rd, Newark

Used to be a good bank, now they have the worst customer service. Doesn't really reflect what credit unions is supposed to be like. Their security is so lax, I am afraid my information is going to be stolen. For a bank that is supposed to serve the local community i'd say they fail in so many ways. Take your money somewhere else.

Writing a review on behalf of my father who is in his 70’s. This credit union puts your social security number on checks instead of creating an account number. Unless you want your identity stolen, and other fraud to occur do not go here.

This bank never registers my check on the date it is dated for. My little check arrives on the day before the 1st of each month and is not available to my use until the 3rd or 4th of the month. I do like the bank and the staff.

I use this bank as a shared banking location. I needed a copy of a check I deposited and Kayleigh found it and sent it right to where it needed to go. She saved me.

Love this credit union, everyone is so pleasant and nice. Never had any problems with anything!

Good luck reaching anyone on the phones. I have an auto loan and have to call in to pay or come in with cash. They charge a $7 card fee and do not offer auto pay convenience. This bank is traditional and needs to get with the times. Your credit score has to be at a certain standard to even be considered for just a checking account which i never understood so i do not have convenience with this bank. I normally never post reviews but I am hoping one more voiced opinion/review can create change in this bank and help keep potential customers informed on what to expect.

So I was told that there pretty good bank to do business with so I tried to open a account there but never go no response nothing at all and over a month later still nothing, a family member said that they’ll give me a call and they said that 5 times already, I thought they were gonna be helpful since I’ve been out of pay for a few weeks now but they don’t even notify me about anything so...

Thieves! Run! Also, they don't offer any kind of security measures to protect your accounts. I've constantly had unknown entities take money out my account. I am sick of the credit union. I wish I could give them 0 st as rs!!!

Horrible customer service dont fill out the online application, theyll never get back to you. Even if you call and speak to 5 different people all they will do is say, "We'll call you back". Take your business elsewhere!

Moving all of my banking to American spirit was one of my best adult moves!
