    I've had my Gold card since 1979 and never been late with a payment. This month I didn't receive the online notification, so I was more than shocked when I checked my account to see that I was late with both my Gold and Blue cards. The charge is $29 each. Customer non-service told me that it's a rule not to remove the charge if it's more than a day. It was 2 days late. Every other card/store/enterprise is happy to accommodate a loyal and longtime client.

    Spoke with the CEO of Amex Stephen Squeri and Jennifer from the executive office regarding a credit adjustment that was not honored after paying off the entire statement. Jennifer pretty much told me to kick rocks. How AMEX has changed over the years.... careful who you pick as a creditor, these guys are nasty...

    This is a business within a business tower. It's very clean and wide. Important offices like American Express and some shoping and restaurant in second floor. Communication is easy and convenient both public and private. Public busses are available.wide space in lower level where traffic cops sits and take break. They don't have any restroom for public

    What a HR dept. the rudeness by talent recruitment is just down right unprofessional. Amex transferred this job to India and dealing with robots during the hiring process left a bad taste in my mouth. This is amex??? Lol great card, terrible HR!

    I have been playing sant here in Brookefeild for 7 years, I’m sorry to say not for the last 2 years because of Covid but the people at American Express has taken $3500 from my account for a bill and hasn’t paid it I believe they are not going to pay the bill it’s been a month now, we’re is my money

    UPDATE: I included a screenshot from my most recent chat with Amex support after not receiving a promised Platinum card benefit. This chat took an entire HOUR and I still haven't heard back. This company has the absolute worst customer service I've ever experienced. Original review: I sent a message to their online chat support about the Platinum card's $200 annual fee increase. The support agent responded by basically calling me poor and told me to downgrade my card "due to your current situation" and to upgrade again "when things get better". I NEVER mentioned that I can't afford it or that I have any type of "situation". This was extremely offensive and not the type of service or company I want to be associated with.

    Initial experience review: so excited as an active duty military member to get approved for the platinum card without the annual fee UNTIL I got the email that said the card would arrive today and subsequently found out it hasn’t even shipped. Based on my first experience with the company I will do all I can can to maximize the card benefits and hope my experience approves, if not I will cancel as trust me my credit score can take the hit without much angst. Optimistic but not overly. As a side note based on the prestige of the card I was approved for I thought customer service would have cared more that they had inconvenienced a new card holder …..not so much. Prior to finishing this post I had at three stars based on rewards but based on customer service indifference coupled with the value of my time-compels with a review. Update: received my card and the benefits of my platinum card are already being experienced. Upgraded to 4 stars but not 5 (based on lingering feelings from being told my card would arrive on day X and arrived on day X+1). I expect to move to 5 stars soon.

    Do NOT, and I am warning you, do NOT book any airline ticket with AMEX travel department. If you have to cancel the ticket, they will hold your credit as ransom for you to purchase another ticket at a much higher price than that listed by the airline. I spent two solid days trying to get AMEX to release my credit to the airlines for a new flight...AMEX travel credit dept finds you the same flight for several thousand more than what the airlines offers...if you are using your credit vs a credit card. No more. I am done with AMEX. Illegal practices...Corporate America vs the small time American consumer at its best. Disgusting company. Use Chase Sapphire card...we all need to start an 'end AMEX campaign now!"

    Misinformation at every step, very long hold times (1 hour plus), deceptive business practices. Choose another bank. Spoke to 3 different people who told me 3 different stories. I also had to wait a week for someone from "corporate" to come into work to make a decision. Insanity.

    I used to wonder why AMEX marketshare was stuck at like 2% but I now wonder no more. I foolishly applied for a credit card with them and the validation process, which involved, get this, getting a signed letter from my bank, during a pandemic no less, before they would process my application. Welp, stay small, AMEX, just like your mind.

    AMEX is not the greatest credit card in the world any more. I have been using my AMEX card for more than 10 years, I remember both the online customer service and telephone customer service were pretty good. But now they can only transfer my calls to other departments and I had to repeat my card numbers and security answers many times, in the end, nobody from this company answered my question, sad

    There's lousy support for fraud if you're not an American Express card holder they won't help you I've been I was a victim of fraud through American gift cards I can't find even a phone number or chat line where I can talk to somebody to give them the card numbers and the transaction numbers so that my so the attorney general can investigate this they don't do nothing if you're if you're not a card holder really lousy service I can't get a number anywhere not online not nowhere not a chat line nothing
