America First Credit Union S State St, South Salt Lake

I called ahead to this branch to get in quickly and set up a business account. On the phone they told me what I needed to have and assuring them I had these items and was ready to set up the account. After arriving and waiting a good 15 minutes. I was taken by the assistant manager Tom who had been just sitting in his office on his phone, while I waiting in the lobby. The discussion with Tom did not go well, while he did give me good advice about the cashiers check I had to start the account he kept pausing the process eventually stopping it completely. There were so many things wrong with this situation. The wait time at this branch is ridiculous. I’m at another bank now and they took me in immediately and we’re able to set up the business checking account as well as kindly accepting the cashiers check. America first credit union and its employee Tom have left me feeling like I never want to bank there again.

I went in a few days ago and had Amber “help” me when I went inside. Normally I go to the drive up. Only what looked to be a young boy helping. Amber was not the best or nicest. Made me feel dumb. Super understaffed. Going to close my account.

The mobile banking app is a joke. I got locked out for no reason and couldnt get back in. There is never anyone available to speak with you other than a robot. Very dissatisfied.

Idk why I even have an account with this credit union will be closing it in the next week. ALL THERE EMPLOYEES on there call centers an branches need MORE TRAINING. As it seems no a single one know what they are doing when it comes to safety deposit boxes. This is the the third time they waste my time trying to add another person to be able to access my safety deposit box, because they continue to give inaccurate information as what it is require to achieve the process. Very annoying an irritating process with them.

I have literally sat in this drive thru for 30 minutes without moving. This is what it is like at this particular location CONSTANTLY!!! It might be a brilliant idea to staff a little better Branch Manager as this is going to cause me to look to do business elsewhere with a banking institution that can meet the needs of its customers. I didn’t get off work early to spend 45 minutes trying to make a deposit. Maybe you don’t need our money? Weird.

Having people wait outside in the cold with a locked door and then giving them attitude when they’re confused at what to do is really humiliating and insulting. Not gonna come back to this location ever again. I could get treated better anywhere else. And when I got my wallet stolen with my ID and debit cards they let whoever stole it cash a bunch of checks under my name because they didn’t check the ID to make sure it was me.

I have come to this location Since it open for the first time. I always get great customer service, they're very professional.

Seriously DO NOT bank here. Literally the worst financial institution in Utah. Slow, rude, and when I wanted to close my account they wouldn't let me and wouldn't give me my money. It was not in the negative or had anything pending if that's what you think. I already filed a police report and I'm contacting attorneys next. They think they can get away with anything.

I’m absolutely appalled at the rules America First has put into place. I work with a company that deals with loan payoffs and it is so hard to get a quote in a reasonable time. Legally, I’m required to complete these processes in 10 days but for some reason the legal authorization signed by my customer is only good for 7. How does this work when we have to account for funding and other hiccups that sometimes come up? I have to put my job in the hands of customers. How is that fair? How do I serve my customers who bank with you better? It looks as if you don’t care if clients loans are paid off.

Usually spend atleast 30min in line every time I've been here. Doesn't matter what time or what day.

Made everyone stand outside because of COVID I get that part but the short man guarding the door is rude. I listened to him tell people to go through the drive thru, one man said he didn’t have a car, the man told him you can walk up to the drive through instead of coming inside. He told my husband to go to the drive thru, when he told him he’s pulling it to much for the drive thru the man told him to try and drive to another branch, my husband responded but I’m here now, he finally let him in but it’s completely inappropriate and unprofessional to try to turn people away that aggressively

It is extremely frustrating when the customer is waiting in line with 20 other people because it is very busy to sit there and watch the employees be more interested in socializing with the other employees in stead to trying to finish the transaction they are working on for the customers. but when your place of business is slammed it is not the time to make drinking plans and hugging everyone and talking to everyone you pass. each transaction was taking twice as long as it needed to because of employees not focusing in the task. it shows a great amount of disrespect to the customer and makes the place of business seem unorganized and badly run by extremely unprofessional people. I am not saying don't socialize , but don't do it when you are slammed and have 20 people glaring you because you are to busy talking to your friends. there is a time and place for everything. the actions of the employees reflect on the business that they work for.

The only America First location where they get annoyed at you for using services. They will make you wait and are rude if you want to cash checks, get a cashier's check, or anything of the sort. The lines are always long and the people are rude. Make the drive to another America First.

American First Credit really helped me today. I just got a car this week. The car dealers wanted me pay 22.99% interest rate. I was totally taken advantage of. They where trying to charge me 2x the car was worth. Alejandra (Assistant Manager), helped me out big time today. She was very patience with me. Made phone calls to the dealers, I was at the branch for about 3 hours today. It was all worth it. Alejandra knows her job well. I plan on being American First customer. Thank you!
