Guaranteed Rate…..Did you ever wonder? Why doesn’t Zach just say “First Rate, Guaranteed!” After all he promptly returned my call and answered my questions in a first rate way. The online method of submitting my documentation was easy and first rate. The appraiser was professional, on-time and nice to chat with. That’s kind of first rate. The escrow officer handled all the hiccups with a kind and reasonable first rate attitude. Well here’s why he can’t say “First Rate, Guaranteed!”- The rate he locked for us was a quarter point less than our current rate which is what we expected and it pleased us. A week later he called with a second rate! A half point less than our current rate. And he had already locked it in place and that thrilled us!
