WINN ARMY COMMUNITY HOSPITAL Reviews
K
Just because you can get things for free doesn’t mean you should, especially healthcare. If there was an option to give 0 stars I absolutely would. We have been here dozens of times and have never left happy or felt cared for. My husband just had his second surgery here (because they didn’t properly do his surgery the first time) and they have left him unattended after surgery with no medications or pain relief at all just so they could have a break. One of the nurses also had an attitude that I was sitting on another patient bed that was in our room while he was out doing surgery, because she had to wash additional linen. They have not even informed my husband what went on during this surgery just like last time. This will be our last time here and on tricare prime. Honestly treating yourself at home is a better option than this place.

I would honestly give zero stars if I could. Whether it’s an appointment and waiting an hour plus past the appointment time, or needing immediate care through the ER waiting 8+ hours, this hospital is sad. It’s just a big building with heartless people. Everyone there is just working for a pay check. Only reason anyone visits this place is for the cafeteria because it’s cheap for soldiers. Every single doctor office, off-post is slammed because no one wants to go to this pitiful place. If you’re reading this review, call Tricare and go Select because this place is not worth your time or money.

I would give this place zero stars if I could. My son went there for abdominal pain and the doctor asked him a bunch of questions but never checked him or ran tests. Then she said that he might be stressed and sent us home. He’s been in severe pain every since and I had to take him to see another doctor. This place is ridiculous and do not care about their patients.

The ER staff on this particular visit was beyond exceptional. Everyone was friendly, kind and caring. We made each other laugh which made my experience even better.

DO NOT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL FOR APPOINTMENT, EMERGENCY ROOM ANYTHING. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. The staff in the emergency department does not care about their patients at all they always have attitude problems like its your fault you dont feel good or could possibly die. I was pregnant and was badly dehydrated because i couldn't keep anything down and was having contractions I was only 3 or 4 months so it was not time for my baby to come so I went to the ER and the front desk lady looked at me and rolled her eyes as she called up to labor and delivery and at this point I could barely stand let alone walk. She then told me to go up to labor and delivery I asked if someone could wheelchair me up because I didn't know the way and I could barely walk and she said no. So I asked if she could at least tell me how to get there from the emergency room and she didn't help me eith that either so I was walking around the hospital in so much pain not knowing where I was going and I almost had to lay down on the floor because I was in so much pain but I kept going and finally someone helped me find the way. They are very lucky I didn't miscarry my daughter because we would have had an even bigger problem. The only part of this hospital where people are somewhat nice is in the pediatric part and even then some of the nurses there are mean.

I showed up when it wasn't busy and got into the ER fairly quickly. Tests took longer than the should've but still good care.

Ms. Baker who works in pediatrics asked my thirteen year old if he wanted a flu shot. I politely asked her when she was addressing a minor about whether he wanted a flu shot or not. She proceeded to tell me that he was of age to make these types of decisions for himself. Understand we have people working in the healthcare field who are ignorant and therefore will violate laws. I made a ICE complaint. Whoever received the complaint lied about contacting me. I had to go to patient advocate to get a response email shortly after. Parents please educate yourselves and your MINORS about state and federal laws in regards to Vaccines. If people think it’s ok to bypass the parents/guardians and speak to minor. Make sure that minor knows that is NOT OK and they don’t have to respond if they feel uncomfortable like my child did. UNPROFESSIONAL.
M
I had taken a Varicella shot and when the doctor checked my data on the system it was not recorded so now I’m currently number E49 waiting for the front desk clerk to finish eating so she can do her job at 1:04pm they are still serving 47 with all the seats in the waiting area filled. They are indeed a joke. Definitely wouldn’t recommend.

Worst Army hospital experiences I have ever had. This is the 3rd time they have made me feel terrible for bringing my kids in.
M
General Care and getting an appointment: I have had lower back pain for a week. I went through all the correct channels and they could literally said they couldn’t get an appointment in person until the end of the month. I cannot walk in the mornings due to the pain. So their advice was to go to the ER or Urgent Care. This seems like the opposite of a primary care office and the opposite of what an urgent care needs to be focused on. People who need a general physician and some minor tests but instead fill up an ER because they can’t be seen in person.

If I could give it zero I would. I have worked in an army hospital as a medic, I know the standards. I have heard absolute horror stories about this hospital time and time again. If you are able to seek outside care you should do so.

The service at this hospital is appalling but what can we expect right.. veterans coming in for an appointment only to find out their appointment has been rescheduled for the following day without any calls or prior notifying them. The front desk kids at the Primary care desk were a joke.. one second they were flirting and the other joking not caring for any of the patients in the waiting area. The young female at the front desk swore she spoke with someone and she had been calling them back but no one ever called me as I waited for nearly and hour and 45. I have things to do and if one thing gets me is when you waste my time! I called patient services and asked the lady to help me. Shortly after that I was called back the nice nurse apologized for calling me but it wasn’t a big deal untill the front chick wanted to announce to everyone what happened. Next time get some professional front desk people because that playground running it is not it. It’s sad that the facility is beautiful but the management needs to be changed clearly there is a problem if everyone is complaining and the have such a low rating.. time to change PCM again SMGDH!

Waited for 2+ hours in the waiting room on a Monday afternoon was told by the gentleman at the fromt desk he “has no idea” what the wait would be and I’d have to ask a nurse, nurse said they were trying their best but were full. It’d be quicker just to die in my opinion. But I left and went to a civilian urgent care because I’m a glutton for punishment

This place is a joke sometimes, depending which area you’re visiting. Many of the secretaries don’t know what they’re doing or how to give directions to a certain area. Some people walk around without mask even tho they need to have it. No security guards anywhere to be found. And if you’re in a working environment leave your life issues at home, its disgusting to hear some of these employees talking about their personal life. Like wow really.
M
That was a first, granted nobody else in the waiting room. I arrived at Winn ER at 5:40 AM, vitals were done, brought back to a room. Spoke to a nurse then RN P, received medication and was out at 6:24 AM. Friendly staff, informative. Thank you

I switched to select because I would rather pay for Healthcare than to deal with the lack thereof from this joke.of a hospital. A patient should not have to see test results in patient portal for 3 weeks without a provider discussing. A patient's health concern shouldn't be put off because a provider has to take time off. Things happen. Kudos to the patient advocate for being the only polite and caring person I spoke to in the 5 people I was passed off to. One thing they excel in is passing the buck. Do yourself a favor and switch to select or standard so you can be seen off post.

This is by far the worst hospital i have been to. When it comes to customer service everyone needs to be retrained. They operate with no sense of urgency, concern, Care and effort. Especially the nurses and doctors in pediatrics, it is really sad, to think these are our options of care. I don’t even know how to honestly put in words, the disappointment and disgust.let’s not start with the ER staff. Unfortunately, there isn’t a rating lower than one star.

I had my yearly lab work was ordered by primary care provider and done. Waiting for her call to consult on abnormal finding like other care providers did. She did not call for months. Then I made an appointment for other referral and lab result. She did not go through my lab result with me nor consult any of abnormals. When I ask about it she said they were ok.

There is a 1 HR wait time at the immunization clinic just to be called and told to wait more. Appointnents aren't available until 1+ month. I wish the nurse that administers the immunization at the Pediatric Clinic would be available without any appointment because waiting 1hr+ for my kids to get their shots at the immunization clinic is stressful. My kids are fed up, and the other people are tired of hearing them cry so nobody is happy.

Writing this review for Optometry. They definitely don't wipe down equipment not with the crust and grease that was on the part where you have to rest your chin and forehead. Gross! Somebody going to leave there getting pink eye.
M
I have been in healthcare for a while and I can say with a high degree of certainty: Winn hospital kills people. Your lack of triage and lack of care makes you an unreliable and dangerous place for patients.

I just wanted to share my experience since before going into birth and being new to the area, when I found out I was pregnant, I also came here looking for answers. Last Friday I went into labor and delivery because my water had ruptured at only 34 weeks. Being a first time mom I was terrified. I had to have my labor delayed until they decided induction was the best way to go. Which also terrified me because there was a possibility of his lungs not being matured fully(which they gave me steroids to help). I had so many nurses and doctors at my side, as I was there for a total of 7 days and every single one that was taking care of me was absolutely amazing. They made sure I was okay, made sure I was understanding of everything going on, very encouraging in a situation that was very scary, all very kind and sweet, and just all perfect in general. I couldn’t have asked for a better birthing experience with everything that had happened. My little boy came out perfect and was in the nursery for a total of two days when they initially thought he’d have to be transported for weeks. I’m so grateful for the whole staff at labor and delivery for taking such wonderful care of me and my baby boy and easing my mind through the whole process. If you feel any doubt at all about the staff I really hope this helps. I had an amazing experience and these reviews on here definitely did no justice what so ever. Thank you to everyone in L&D for being exceptional!

This review is for labor and delivery !! During my pregnancy any questions or concern I had I always called and the nurses were always so helpful . I had a C-Section 11 days ago and the experience , treatment and care I received was out of this world . Everyone was so kind , comforting and helpful. I want to thank Dr.Ganty And the best nurses Brenda , Melissa & Cory for all the care they gave my son and I .

I would like to visit this pharmacy, and hospital again. With my Husband and watch them bow. It not their fault that they quickly ushered me out. But what I do remember are two men lol. The young soldier who clock me in and the young soldier from Harlem who took me from the other side of the base to the pharmacy. These young soldiers are very trained to spot a lady lol in need or human suffering. Their eyes are very clear and spirits alert to danger. my experience has me writing, because I have people that I love and loves me their lives tied to this establishment and their hearts to serve our country. But on a ordinary day I got to see the hearts and soul of these soldiers. We had cross each others path that day by default, I was there to pick up a prescription at Winn. But nothing prepared me for that encounter returning back from the pharmacy. I would visit this same facility again and my experience would be so very different. Passing through the base I had lapsed in my mind, as I was enamoured by the vast land and green grass and atmosphere that surround Fort Stewart. I could not accept not taking the memories with me to share with our military counterparts. SO I TOOK A PHOTO I HAD FORGOTTEN THAT I WAS ON MILITARY PROPERTY AND THAT WAS Forbidden Thanks guys all of you that serve me on that very eventful day and got me out of that dilemma and safely back to my home in all of that I discovered my community Fort stewart is a very beautiful place to visit in Hinesville right of Memorial Drive There the main gate for me this my encounter with Winn Community. A day at the base, Winn COMMUNITY. God bless America A LAND SO FREE AND THE HOME OF THE BRAVE.

The nurse I dealt with was terrible. I waited in the waiting room for 3 hours- normal. I expected that part. The rude nurse part? Not so much. I have lupus, I’m pregnant, just moved 16 hours away, my husband is gone. My previous provider did not give me enough medication to last me. Called/went into office several times to get them filled before I came to Georgia. I came into the ER because I do not know what to do! Insurance hasn’t placed me with someone else and well, I’m not in Texas anymore. She told me I did it wrong. She said I shouldn’t have came here, they aren’t made to refill prescriptions. I should’ve called the number days ago. At this point I’m frustrated, I responded coldly with “ok I got it I’m sorry” She responds with “I’m trying to educate you but I see you have an attitude” let’s me know I’ll be waiting a while then leaves. Dont work In health care if you can’t empathize. I wasn’t sent here with correct info nor medication, this wasn’t my fault. Maybe it’s common sense to know to call the number, but it’s not what I was told- and I’ve never done this before!!!! There are 10,000 different ways she could’ve told me the same exact information and I would’ve taken it politely. She was rude and unprofessional. I will do whatever I can to avoid this place in its entirety.

When my son was sick I took him to this location and they had me in and out took all the necessary steps and checked what they could in my opinion. The front desk staff were a little rude over all my experience for the ER was good. I delivered my son September of 2020 and they did an AMAZING job. They kept reassuring me things were going to be ok which I really do appreciate especially at that moment, post op was even better. Id definitely recommend this facility.

Am not the kind of person to give a one star review but my experience in the ER on Sunday was the worst of it all. The doctor told me that the tests he ran on me where normal upon logging into tricare portal I realized that my test results were not yet ready. Which result is accurate and which result did he give to me. I came in for a severe back pain and was given Tylenol even after telling the doctor Tylenol doesn’t work on me and have been taking it for a while without any change. Please save yourself the stress and go to a different ER if the need arises

On May21 2021 I went to Winn Army hospital for a foot injury. The gentleman at the front desk was not very nice but the man who took my vital signs was very helpful and pleasant. The staff at X-ray very nice and helpful. Dr.Brian Walker and Mrs Hudson took care of injury and today I am doing great. Thank you all

I'd give a zero if it was a option! I turned over my son to the army in hopes that he'd be taken care of and that's simply not the case! He's been up there twice now and diagnosed with 3 large kidney stones and blockage and bleeding to his kidneys! They can't tell what the blockage is until the stones are passed, the stones are to big to pass and has been a week and still stuck in his back, he can't talk or move...goes back and is told they aren't that kind of doctor here's some motrin!!

My wife wanted to get covid tested and the appointment was at 3:30. Apparently this is when they close the site and then we were told to come back the next day. Which I had to work all day. So we went on that Friday at 2:00 and they refused her testing. This is a disgrace of a hospital and your better of getting off post treatment.
j
my nephew has went into a seizure and all this hospital did was take blood and let my nephew leave! they didn’t even run and a cat scan or neither MRI and just this week he was severely dehydrated and had a 103 fever and all they thought was an ear infection! then they messed up and said he was fine but called back 10 mins later and said they messed up his blood work! what professional calls and says they messed up and acts like it’s fine! turns out he had to go to savanna children’s hospital! they had to do all this blood work and test on him there bc this hospital didn’t! eventually they had to test him for leukemia! i would definitely recommend not taking your kids to this hospital!
j
This hospital will let you or your children die in the emergency waiting area before they decide to even take your vital. You WILL wait 3-5 hours before your seen. They base you being seen off of how severe your situation is compared to someone else so, If you have an EMERGENCY i advise you to go off base where your situation is acknowledged and treated in a proper time frame.
A
Go off post. My wife is having a posible miscarriage and they don’t care. You will show up to the ER wait for a couple of hours and then you will leave because it’s faster to drive to another hospital and been seen(is faster ).Please do not come here I’m telling you this so you can avoid this frustration . By the time my wife goes in it will be time for her to give birth
K
I brought someone there on a saturday who was bleeding from her nose. We said it might be broken. They said yep it might be broken, go to sick call on monday, take tylenol for pain. They didn't give her tylenol, they didn't help at all. No follow up apointment, no after care instructions You are better off driving out lf town for any kind of medical attention. This place is garbage.
