    I have no idea how this Credit Union gets 4.5 stars. They have reduced their hours to 9-5, wait times on the phone are extensive to talk to people without answers and the staff at locations, when open, are less that welcoming or helpful. Much better rates on all the services can be found at other credit unions. Service has continually declined over the number of years I have been a member to the point that I'm looking to take my business elsewhere. My advice is to compare rigorously and examine customer service closely.

    I went to Westerra to inquire about something extremely *specific* in order to see if I'd be able to open a business account. I did a walk-in and unfortunately they weren't able to see me due to being short on staff, but were able to make an appointment for me for the following day. When I walked in, I was immediately greeted by the teller who knew my name! (I can't remember her name but) the woman who helped me out was really informative and did her best to answer any questions. She provided recommendations on what I could do moving forward. Even though I ended up not opening an account, I was met with respect, good customer service, and a helpful employee. I can't speak on the company itself, but I can say that the people at this location are very nice and the facility is clean.

    I have been a client of Westerra/Cherry Creek for several years and have 3 accounts with this CC. Clorissa must be the new branch manager and her attitude regarding customer service is absolutely terrible. Worst experience I have had in all years I have been with Westerra. Friendliness: 0 It seems that she is doing you an enormous favor to serve you. Truly makes me rethink where to bank. I am not looking for a free box of checks but a friendly hello and good-bye. Eli on the other hand is always friendly with a great attitude and his customer service is how I know Westerra to be.

    Working with Westerra has been an absolute nightmare the past few months. Their service has suffered greatly. Staring new accounts is a pain and most recently we had a horrible experience trying to secure a HELOC with them. Camille Martinez the Consumer Loan Specialist was not helpful, did not set expectations, and then dragged our application on for days while were told her we were in a rush to get a pre-approval. We finally called ENT Federal Credit Union and got approved within 45m of being on the phone. I will be switching all my accounts including all the business accounts away from Westerra and will never do business with them again. It's very clear that they just no longer care about their members. Do better Westerra.

    Ok first of all - I've never had this much fun AT THE CREDIT UNION. I came in today because I was having trouble with activating my debit card for the last two months and I just haven't wanted to deal with it. I worked with Jasmine, and she's a hoot. We joked around, she got my new card printed - there was a weird hitch and it didn't go as planned when I tried it at the ATM so I ran back in, a few minutes before closing, and she could not have been more kind. We laughed, we had fun, we talked about what we were doing for the holiday, all while she quickly got me taken care of. Jasmine is a star, and she made an experience that could have been stressful one that was surprisingly fun and delightful. Not what I was expecting. Thanks so much!

    I have been a member of this since the 1970's when it was Denver Public Schools Employees Credit Union. Besides the normal checking and savings, we have had IRA's, auto loans, mortgages, and signature loans/line of credit. Our experiences with all of these programs along with direct deposit have been a total positive experience. Of course the size has changed and the current employees do not call us by name when we walk in like they did in the old DPSCU days, but we still feel valued and treated as though our business is welcomed.

    The experience I have had with Westerra credit union as a whole has been a nightmare. From cashiers mixing up personal and business accounts when depositing checks, to the 4 month nightmare of trying to prove to the IRS that I already paid through the bill pay. From Fernando at the call center, to Kari Mathews never returning my calls! The. branch manager Rachel at the Aurora branch refusing to help me after the second letter from the IRS and threatening to have me removed by the police Fascinating that all they had to do was give me a copy of the check sent through bill pay The business department found the check and is sending me copies Would love to know why the others named couldn’t do the same Looking for a real financial institution

    Customer service has depreciated greatly these days. I called in because I was interested in opening a checking a account with this credit union. The representative who answered told me to apply online instead. I thought this was odd but ok I applied online. The online process was really touch and go, it wouldn’t let me open documents or upload items like my ID but I managed to get through it after several tries. About a week and a half passed by and my application still said pending. I called in yet again and the representative who answered stated, “all you need to do is email your drivers license and then we can open the account and get you set up”. So I said ok, I emailed them my drivers license and waited for a reply. Another week passed and still I heard nothing. One day I received a letter in the mail stating Westerra Credit Union had done a hard inquiry on my credit and had denied me a checking account unbeknownst to me. This was honestly a very unpleasant and deterring experience all the way around. I would never recommend this bank to anyone.

    Their app is horrendous. Extremely limited functionality, restrictive password configuration requirements, and the app doesn't allow you to use a password you've ever used before. Heck, even ADP let's you recycle passwords after 3 different passwords are used. My car loan will be paid off in 2 months and I cannot wait to be done with this institution. I wanted to confirm they had my correct address on my account so the title for my BMW doesn't get lost when they mail it to me. There is no way to confirm or change your address through the app. You can't even view past statements. What's the point of such a useless app?

    Monika explained all the steps and numbers very clearly to us. She understood our busy schedules and likelihood to not see an important email so she kept reaching out and was proactive in getting in touch with us. She even called when there was an interest rate change overnight so we could take advantage of it. It was clear that Monika had our best interest in mind from beginning to end. She made a confusing and seemingly intimidating process shockingly quick and easy. I only wish I had refinanced sooner. We tried to refinance with the company that held our mortgage but never submitted the application because the process demanded a lot of us. Communication was also slow and we didn't understand anything. I'm so glad I worked with Monika and WCU instead of them! Thank you!

    I left my big bank in disgust after one too many episodes of nation-wide malfeasance. Perhaps it wasn't exactly legal malfeasance, but it was morally suspect, and ethically disheartening. And yucky. I began using Westerra for all my financial needs, which after all are relatively simple compared to some folks. It was a good decision. I receive all the same services that I previously received at the large bank, and deep down inside I don't feel, well, yucky. I've used Westerra in particular for a few automotive loans - two, in fact - and they both went smoothly, the cars and the loan process. Speaking of cars, we use the drive-through a lot, my wife almost daily - the clerks or representatives are always courteous, friendly, and efficient. Update: recently, we refinanced our home loan, and we received really helpful assistance from Lonnie Burkholder, one of Westerra's mortgage loan officers. Lonnie was very supportive of our concerns and he was also very responsive to our many, many questions. Lonnie was skillful, I thought. He took care of business efficiently, but he also took time to make sure that we understood every step in the process. We're very grateful to him for the services he provided.

    I have used several lenders for a couple rental properties and personal property’s. I just did a refinance on my house and Joy was amazing. She was by far the most organized, fastest and easy to work with. I was referred to Joy by a co-worker because he was buying a house about a year ago, when I was doing a refinance on a different property. I was using a different lender at the time and my co-worker started his process with Joy after me and fished before I did. I was so frustrated with my lender and wished I would have known about Joy prior. With the other lender I had 3 people asking for paperwork and asking for the same thing over and over. With Joy, you work with her for the whole process. I had let Joy know I was a very very busy person and my schedule is completely opposite of most normal working days. I told her my communication would need to be mostly over text or email. She respected that and stuck to it. Joy even answered a text at 10pm on a Sunday night, so that we got our rate locked in before rates possibly went up Monday. Even in these busy times we had all paperwork and documents done in less than 25 days. She was so fast, easy and organized. I have referred her to a couple of my high end realtors that I work with. I will never use anyone else for any home loan.

    Shannon was the hardest working mortgage broker I have ever worked with. I've been an investor for 14 years so and getting my loans is complicated and time consuming.
