Veterans United Home Loans Amphitheater at Virginia Beach Reviews
J
This was an event to distribute food to the community held by The Food bank of Southeast Virginia and The Eastern Shore. The event went very well and many under nourished and struggling families got some help. The Food Bank personnel and Volunteers did fantastic work and I was honored to be part of that team!
J
We've lived in Virginia Beach for years and have never been to the Amphitheater, it was AWESOME! Plenty of lawn seats and the pit layout is not nerve-wracking! Huge view screens and PLENTY of places to buy drinks and food. Upgrades included lawn chair rentals, season passes, flight deck upgrade (a nifty little high top patio with private bars.. get there early for a great seat!) Showtime was at 730PM we arrived at 6, parked in the open lots (organized with staff). Had the option to hang and tailgate, but reccomend moving towards entry for covid check and security to get in when gates open.
M
Great show, great venue. The cost for drinks and food was absurd but at the end of the day it's worth it.
F
So we parked in the parking lot and held signs to welcome Garbage and Alanis. All your staff were COOL about this but one lady. She pulled up in a black Lexus SUV and backed into the gas line then got out of her car and was just from the start MEAN. I'm a chill person welcoming my fav band and she just was the worst. But SHE was the only problem. They rest of your staff was amazing! I over heard 2 men (one in a white shirt one in a black) by the backstage area talking and them seeming so happy and saying "it's so good to see people again" that overheard statement made my soul jump for joy because I agreed with his happiness. Everyone was friendly and helpful and the experience (mostly due to the bands) was one of the best nights of my life. Be proud of your staff they went above and beyond and excelled at customer service.

Great place for live comedy shows. I attended the Wild-N-Out Live show and the place was better than I expected (as well as the show). It had lots of security (which is great to keep everyone safe), food and drinks. The workers did a amazing job of helping people find there seats and also answer any questions that we had. Very respectful and kind! The parking was also great because they had the workers point us to parking spots so there was no fighting or fussing over who's parking where. Wonderful place!
R
Very cool experience. We stayed on the lawn and got there early. The lawn is a long way off from the stage, but if you sit in the middle there is a large screen which shows the venue up close, so it was a great value! We also bought in our own snacks and bottled water (make sure unopened), so we saved on the outrageous food and drink prices. I was discouraged with all the mess people leave when the concert was over. It is pretty pathetic that people can't clean after themselves.
K
Great concert experience. Parking was easy and getting out was even easier. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Many food options and even more drink options. Didn't know about the purse/bag size restrictions. Or the fact that you could bring in 1 sealed bottle of water... but now we know.
A
Absolutely love the Amphitheater. Music is the best medicine for the soul. Love taking my kids, going with friends, or even by myself. Have enjoyed hundreds of shows here. Always Clean and the staff is friendly.
J
Chris Stapleton concert was amazing!! My first concert and couldn’t have picked a better location. This place looks like an amusement park inside! Can’t wait to go back!
E
Love this venue! Staff is friendly and helpful. Venue is clean and the music sounds great! Food and drinks are extremely overpriced, but I think thàts to be expected though.
R
Great concert, Judas priest, 50year anny vaccine required, felt very safe for my first outing with crowds. Cashless, bring credit!!
B
I'm not from the area, and recently traveled here for a concert. This is one of the best outdoor facilities I've ever been to. Lots of drink/food options, plenty of restrooms, and a clean environment. Looking into seeing more concerts here!
T
Over all experience was great. Employees were nice. Only complaint would be for a venue to be so big they need to invest in more hydro water systems, instead of just one. The line was extremely long the entire show.
Y
Had a great 27th birthday at the WILD N OUT SHOW
M
Great place for outdoor music. Free parking. Concession prices are high, but to be expected.
L
We just saw Jimmy Buffett. It was a great concert and I always love the Veterans United Home Loans Amphitheater. Parking is easy, the employees are nice, you can buy beer or wine and they sell food soda and water. The ladies bathroom has so many stalls that the wait is either no wait or a short one. I appreciate the port-a-johns in the parking lot.
D
Saw Kenny Chesney with my wife and friends. Lawn seats were pretty cheap. Typical convert venue food and drink prices. Carly Pearce opened for him. Both sets were a lot of fun. This is a pretty fun concert venue.
G
Very expensive but you kinda have to expect that. Glad to see they finally went cashless throughout the whole venue. We came down for the Lunatic Luau. Had a good time even though it was ungodly hot out. Just wish they’d allowed chairs for this concert as sitting on the ground all day isn’t great for a group of people w back and hip issues
T
It is always a great time! Seats under the pavilion kept me from being burnt. I would like to ask. Why no splash pad? That would be a great addition to this outdoor venue
D
We had a great time at doobie brothers last night. We looked online to see any restrictions but we couldn't find any. When we got there I learned they no longer allow large purses/ backpacks, etc. Be prepared
D
My grandson's first concert, Lala Palooza 2022! Only complaints are having to pay $16 for one beer and the vendors not accepting cash. Although they do have loadable cards that you can get at Guest Services for free, which was nice.
O
What a great place for a concert on a gorgeous spring night. We had lawn seats to see Zack Brown Band, and I couldn't imagine a better venue. There are plenty of refreshment vendors and facilities for use, and the entire experience was laid back and enjoyable. I don't know if it's the norm for events, but there was no charge for the ample parking, as well.
A
The concert was awesome and very organized. No issues with check in. Parking was very organized and speedy in and out of the venue!!!
M
First time back in 10 years. Concert was great. Sound was good. Plenty of bathrooms, food options and drink options. Beer is as pricey as expected about 14 bucks a pop depending on what type. 4 stars because getting in took forever. Also worth noting that although the website says you can bring water bottles and/or empty jugs you can not. You can bring them through security and then dump as much as possible into a plastic cup. Meh. We'll be back I'm sure.
C
Blink 182 and Lil Wayne concert... Great place for events. Although it was hot earlier in the day, the concert was placed at a good time. They have drinks and restrooms available. Great place, and will definitely be back again.
L
Traffic getting in and out is horrible. There has to be a better managing way. The helpers need to keep it moving once u enter the parking lot
C
Kenny chesney was awesome, the amphitheater is a great place with good shade but insanely overpriced food, 2 corn dogs is 25$
D
We see a few shows here every year and the grass passes work great. Love not being confined and dancing if you like.
a
Awesome venue, watched DMB and was a great show. Yes you have to be vaccinated and show proof. But in these times, it it what is. Don't like it don't go. Staff was helpful and friendly.
A
Very organized - easy in and out. Also, lots of food and drink choices. Clear bags or small clutch sized purse. Also, I saw people bringing bottled water inside in a market bag. Chairs can be brought in as well or you can rent for $7/each.
C
This place has really gone down hill. So many rules, it's not even fun anymore. Tickets checked 3 times before we could even get to our seats.
J
Veteran Home Loans is an awesome concert venue . Two complaints is there beer prices...$13.50 for a beer that you would pay $2.99 for in a store...way overpriced, and completely disappointed in their recent stance on COVID restrictions.
C
VB Local been several times to this venue. Just saw Imagine Dragons July 3rd. It was a phenomenal show!! They made amazing use of the avalible space to give an epic experience to the crowd. The staff assisted us with wheelchair accommodations and assisted my daughter when she got a little over heated with a fan and water. We enjoyed our night. The traffic in and out is a bit crazy, but most concerts have that issue for a sold out show of this size as well. Prices were what you'd see at an amusement park for drinks and snacks, we ate before we went to avoid the up charge. BUT the large sodas are freely refillable.
F
Saw Kenny Chesney here. Nice amphitheater perfect size to really enjoy a show.
T
Went to the Jason Aldean concert and had a great time! Very nice venue lots of concessions and good drinks!
M
Ok Venue to see Live Music. Seats are jammed together. If it rains except a muddy mess getting to & from parking lot. Everything is easy overpriced as well. $15 beers $7 water and so on. Staff is getting a lil better on helping instead of rude. Seen a lot of shows here. Not much Metal comes here, maybe 2-4 a year at most. Seen Judas Priest this time.🤟
J
The concert was great, but got really crowded that you could hardly move. They should cut off the ticket sales after so many. When time to leave cell towers overloaded that we couldn't get a ride share for 30 minutes.
s
Jimmy Buffett was absolutely the greatest

R
Absolutely love this place. Alcoholic drinks are very pricey, but other than that it’s always a great time.!
J
It was okay, just waited in line for the drive thru pantry. It went quick!!!!
J
We had a great time tailgating before the concert. It was a little bit of a walk but worth it. This place is huge, plenty of vendors. We saw Zac Brown Band & they were awesome as always!
D
Went to see Wild n Out May 2022
K
GREAT Kenny Chesney concert. Always clean and nice there. The next morning not even trash in the parking lot [we stayed overnight in the RV selection! ] Clean tailgaters?
D
Perfect evening to see the Doobie Brothers.
L
This was my very first live concert and it was fantastic! The only thing I would say is that the volume was a bit loud and it was hard to hear the words the performers were singing. Other than that our seats were great. We were able to get reseated in the handicap seating area which was closer than the seats we purchased. The staff was very helpful too.
H
Great venue with great food and drink options.
C
A pretty nice amphitheater. Lawn seats available. Food is incredibly over priced but that's to be expected I guess. There's a app that allows you to order food and they'll deliver it to you.
J
Went to a concern. Easy parking (was included). Clean restrooms, friendly and helpful staff. Plenty of food and drink available but at concert prices as expected. Two giant screens so all could see even if you were not close to the stage. Good sound and lights!
J
Great place to go see concerts. They have a ton of parking and have plenty of people to show you where to park the traffic both before and after events is pretty insane but that is to be expected with places like this. Over all can't complain but drink a lot before because they will charge you an arm and a leg for drinks.
d
I'm just not impressed with the sound of an amphitheatre concert . The amenities are better than 10 years ago . All in all the concert was good .
K
Beautiful venue, friendly employees, lawn seating is great. Alcohol is ridiculously priced and you can only bring in clear bags. All in all a great place to see a concert, despite the prices being expensive. That just is what it is in this climate. I'm just happy concerts are back!
D
Have had good experiences at this venue. Easy to get in, other than the merch line, most of the lines weren't too bad. Food/beer was pretty pricey, so we usually eat beforehand. Also traffic leaving seemed to flow out well.
R
This place is nice and offer plenty of eating and drinking options. Traffic is terrible though
D
As some have said very nice place, highly staffed, don't think there is any bad seats, but the drinks on the other hand a whole lot of price pinching $14 for a beer a Coors Light at that..
C
Insanely priced drinks ($15 beers and 20+ for mixed drinks/shots) but always a good time.
K
Awesome show!!! Thomas Rhett!! Haven't been here in over 20 years. Fantastic experience!
T
Great venue which allows tailgating before the doors open, staff was very accommodating and you don't have to be concerned with being rained out unless on lawn but even they still had a great time.
E
Staff was considerate and venue was clean. An enjoyable experience
C
Nice amphitheater. Relatively easy in and out. Food court with food soft & hard drinks. Bring your $$$$ because like most venues, none of it is inexpensive.
C
Would be 5 stars if the price of drinks weren't rediculous overpriced.
B
Nice venue. Very helpful and friendly staff.
G
Awesome place to see a concert. If you get lawn tickets, you can bring your own chairs and pick nick. Just make sure you have everything in clear bags and the weather is good
J
Really cool place. Yeah Baby, what a night
D
Easy in, easy out, great show. The only complaint would be the cost of a beer but it goes along with this type of event. If you have been to jiffy lube live in bristow VA it seems to be a mirror image
D
Doobie Brothers Concert was the BEST!!! Easy in and easy out!!!
D
Need work on long lines getting in. Bathrooms very clean. Like the big section of food choices.
B
Always a good time and they offer a cart for those of us that can’t make the long walk to our seats. Lots of food choices. All Drinks are expensive. I always take an empty water bottle and fill it at the fountain. The staff is always helpful.
E
I've been to many concert here the staff is always very accommodating and nice the venue is perfect for a concert sound quality is always amazing! Great time!!
l
Awesome !! Great time at Jimmy Buffet Concert here
S
The music was great, everything else sucked. No one knew where anything was. The only way to upgrade was through the app, that didn't work. I love the concerts held there, but it's almost not worth it.
D
Wonderful time with my wife and two of our granddaughters at their first concert. KIDZ BOP KIDZ. The venue is great and so far no bad weather..
P
Pretty much in the same vein as most outdoor amphitheaters these days. Free parking was a bonus. Clean facility, and seating and views were better than expected.
C
I attended a graduation at this venue. The stage and seating were comfortable, but I felt the walk from the parking area to the theater was difficult for seniors and parents with small children. I saw many elderly people walking with canes and walkers on a hot June evening.
J
Loved Jimmy Buffet. 25 dollars for 1 drink is a little high
K
Nice venue! I love it here! Seated or lawn view... you choose!
C
Was there for my grandson's graduation. Parking was so far away from the performance area. Only accomodations for those that are elderly or handicapped was a golf cart that only holds 5 people. And that was located INSIDE the gates after you are admitted. There were probably 50-60 people waiting in line to ride it. We decided to walk because of that. It truly is the equivalent of probably 4-5 city blocks or more. This was in addition to walking at least 1+ city blocks from the closest parking area (handicapped) Way to far for anyone who has problems walking to handle. A golf cart from parking to the gate would have been a better idea with a shuttle carrying more people at a time to the seating area. Poorly planned and not a place I will visit again.
j
this place is a cool event space/concert hall
k
First time here couldn't find anyone to give us directions to our seats after we got in the gate
C
Went to the final Warped Tour (2018) here. Staff is helpful and the venue was clean and accommodating.
M
First show in 2 years and a screen was out!! Complete lack of strategic planning on any level. Concert was great but the management here has some issues. . . .
G
VIP lounge is not worth the cost. Bars seemed understaffed, less wait time from beer stands. Purchased beers and food at bar and asked for a cup of water with meal bartender Kat informed me I had to purchase water, at $50 a person upgrade a free cup of water with alcohol and food purchase seems reasonable. Women's room flooded in VIP area, frustrating because a big reason for the upgrade purchase was the VIP restrooms. Never again!
L
Very clean employees were alert and helpful
V
Great environment. Amazing artists. Expensive food.
M
Absolutely wonderful to be back outside listening to great music! The entire staff were friendly and so helpful at the end when I couldn't remember where I parked 😊 We are so lucky here in VB to have such a quality venue.
V
Great venue for this amazing city! Love the availability of concerts Live Nation makes the experience equally amazing with the ability to order from our seats! Don’t think there’s a single bad seat in the whole house! Would’ve given them 5 stars if only they would invest in fans!! Put huge ones in the overhead to get the air moving! That would be great! Otherwise, no other complaints!
P
It was nice to have live concerts back. I wish they would remove the trees or bamboo that are creeping up on the big screen, it's annoying. Other than that, great experience from the entrance till it was over.
C
Great seats, sound, people and vendors. Will be back!!
A
I enjoy the atmosphere of this place. I prefer the lawn space, and always bring a blanket to sit on. The drinks, and food are very expensive, otherwise I would have given 5 stars.
O
This is a nice place just watch out for the crazy drunk retired.
B
Incredible venue, the lawn is great, gives a festival vibe.
J
Went to high school graduation there...for a placed named after veterans and me being one the services for veterans was poor....I've had both knees replaced and had to hobble the entire distance to and from the graduation because one slow golf cart set aside for everyone but veterans....as I contemplated waiting for it the line was 60 folks deep. Standing there hurts more than stepping off....rename the place because vets wasn't highlighted
L
I really enjoy this place. Been there 3 times already this month
T
A complete experience. In this outdoor amplitheather there is no bad spot, I had a lawn ticket and was able to fully enjoy the concerts. Sound fill every corner of the place, the concessions are placed around the venue with thought, only downside is the price of everything which can be expected of this type of place but still. Parking was a breeze both coming in and getting out. I highly recommend this place for all you concert type needs.
M
Saw Judas Priest on Sept 9th,.....Great Show, and my girlfriend was in a wheelchair and they were more than accommodating.
D
We waited in line in 90 degree heat huddled together for over 1 1/2 hours just to go through security. There were 5 stations and 1 was for handicapped. I understand that but when there aren't any handicapped people around don't just stand there. Start letting everyone through that checkpoint. They actually had security telling people they can't use the handicapped even though no handicapped were going through. Is that what they were hired to do? When the concert started and it was obvious we had at least another half hour in line people started pushing trying to get through. We missed the first 40 minutes. Tickets are not cheap. They should be able to afford more security check points. If there is someone you want to see wait until they are someplace else.
W
Alanis Morissette and Garbage were WONDERFUL! This concert took my back to being 25 years old, and I loved it. Cudos to the Amphitheater staff and EMS for keeping things safe, and helping the inebriated and those suffering with heat stroke!
t
All good, great access, traffic flows smooth, everyone is nice! Thanks KISS!
A
I’ve attended many events at The Veterans United Home Loans Amphitheater at Virginia Beach over a 10 year span of time and have always enjoyed my time and money spent at this venue. I’ve bought tickets to events through 3rd parties, the venue website, and most recently - the box office. All that to say, I’m truly disappointed and let down by how this business has taken care of their loyal customers throughout the Covid-19 pandemic. We were very understanding and patient when we were being laid off and didn’t have money for rent or food. We followed your guidelines to wait until 30 day AFTER the concert date to inquire or expect a refund back. It is now November 2020. I purchased nearly $300 worth of tickets for a show scheduled for May 2020 from the box office using my credit card. The concert was cancelled. I am unable to make any sort of contact with anyone to get a refund. Other customers are being offered a refund or 125% of what they spent. But not those who purchased from the box office. It is now past the time that I can dispute the charge with my credit card company due to waiting for the venue to respond. There must be people who are still employed here or can at least answer a Facebook message or email to issue a refund. Unfortunately, the customers who went out of their way to purchase box office tickets before, will think twice before handing money over again to a venue that doesn’t offer refunds to events that never happened. Your customers have stuck with you and been loyal through all of the chaos this year. Please look out for us as we attempt to continue supporting you.
C
The shows are always amazing! But the parking situation definitely needs help. I've been going to concerts here since I can remember, but I have never had to wait 2 almost 3 hours in the parking lot line. Then we got sent to park in the high school lot, out by the tennis courts, while people were still parking inside the amphitheater lots (for a sold out show, by the way). They just reeeeally need to rethink their parking lots, & how many tickets to sell if they don't have the spots to park people.
J
This area is FANTASTIC.. we’ve enjoyed many concerts there. However, there seems to be an overwhelming number of small children attending which worries me because there’s a lot of drinking, smoking, and parents leaving children unattended. There should DEFINITELY be an age limit. We go to relax and have children as well. So hearing children crying during the concert puts me on alert as a mother which makes the concert absolutely not a relaxing, good time.
S
94.78 for 4 drinks with tip... Ouch! That's ridiculous!
H
I just found out Alanis Morissette is playing August 25th! AMAZING also 2 of my kids just had their graduation ceremony there today. However major bummer, very long walk to the stage/seating area. I'm not sure if that's safety or covid I just know be ready!
S
Nick Cannon & the wildin out crew great experience!!!!
k
Had an amazing time here for my birthday. The venue is so big and gives plenty of room for everyone. It was well put together and clean. The stage was huge and the staff worked really hard to keep everything in place. The only real complaint I have is I bought fast lane passes but apparently they're "only good for the first 5 minutes" which is absolutely ridiculous because I've gone to other venues and never had this issue. But they did work fast to get everyone in orderly and quickly so we didnt miss anything. Overall I'm very pleased with how it turned out, they definitely exceeded my expectations
A
Great music venue. This was our second time there to see DMB. I don't think there is a bad seat any where at this place.
T
The venue was acoustically wonderful! Such a clean venue from what I've experienced elsewhere. I loved the options they brought in for food. I wish they had multiple options to get to the top lawn seating area, I felt like I had to go around my posterior to get to my destination, but beyond a few extra steps, enjoyed my time!
P
Great venue, but beware if you like to partake in adult beverages. VA Beach Sheriff's department stake out the bathroom and look for anyone that appears tipsy.
U
Concert was pretty awesome! Venue was clean and spacious, however the amount of cannabis smoke was ridiculous and not fair to non users. Totally put a literal bad taste in my mouth. I had to leave early due to an allergic reaction from the smoke. Other than that I recommend the venue.
J
This is a great place to go see a concert. It's outside so it can be a bit hot or cold depending on the season, but other than the temperature it's a great venue. There's a standing pit area in front of the stage for people who want to stand and be close, there are seats behind that for people who want to sit in seats, and there is a grassy area behind the regular seats for people who want cheaper seats and the ability to spread out a bit.
K
Food and drinks are expensive but expected. Great concert..Alice in Chains, Stone Temple Pilots, Pop Evil and Stone Sour.
C
Wildn' Out, it was very entertaining and full of energy and laughter.
A
As always awesome concert venue....Zombie n Manson rocked it on out. Great weather, very friendly staff and concert goers
M
Everything's great except for the price of concessions. The rest of the prices vary and are pretty much to be expected. They've got a good stage setup. The layout of the venue seems to vary by show. The lawn area is really big, too. The sound is good also.
D
Doobie Brothers concert. Hot, humid and still a good show. Sound was very good until they turned it up until it sounded better in the parking lot. We left early to avoid the crowds leaving. 2 hour drive back to Richmond wasn't real fun though. Had a good time.
S
Place was packed and awesome to see. Police and security ensured anyone acting stupid was dealt with. New rules but nothing that cannot be easily adjusted to. So great to be back at live concerts. This amphitheater did it right.
H
Superb venue. Parking is really easy and VIP Lounge is super cool with a pond and resort grotto type feel. Food very good for an entertainment venue. Drinks aren’t cheap but that’s life. Sat in Section 103 and had great view - seats were comfortable. Tip: You don’t need the express pass if you do VIP. Will definitely see more bands here!
a
Top notch service and facilities. Vip club access was nice for short bathroom lines. The issue was it seemed to group uppity drunks in a smaller area. There was a fight that required sheriff intervention. Over serving was an apparent issue. The lawn area was very nice. The big screens made it a very fun experience. We added on the chair rental, renting was smart. We didn't have to lug the chairs around. You bring the chairs to your spot and leave them at the end. The rental chairs were very comfortable. The lawn area people were very respectful of personal space. Maybe it's a Virginia thing, it is not a Cincinnati Ohio thing. We were hesitant to get lawn seats. Our lawn seats experience was vastly different at Riverbend Music Center in Cincinnati. We had drunks stepping all over us and flicking ashes all over our blankets and standing right on top of us. We wouldn't hesitate to get lawn seats for this venue. The vip parking was worth it also. The parking was right next to the entrance.
C
Great venue. Easy parking. Good seats and plenty of food drink options.
C
Overall a great outdoor, larger venue. The sound is really good in pretty much all viewing locations. The staff has been consistently nice for years. There are tons of food and drink options so lines are usually fairly minimal for a large event and move quickly. The prices are very high ($15 beers) but that is unfortunately become the standard at these places. They seem to pull a pretty diverse set of shows each year so there is typically something for everyone. One strange thing I hope is corrected soon as it is not normal, they have installed seats in the "pit" area. I assume this was mean as a COVID precaution, but the seats are smaller than the standard seats, and the rows are MUCH closer together. I was much closer to the people around me than I would have been had the chairs been removed. If a band or performer you like is coming here and you are local check it out.
G
Had a blast at the Pitbull: I Feel Good Tour. First concert at the amphitheater since 96x fest in 2000. 😔 Hope to be back before another 21 years. Lol. Great atmosphere.
D
Chris Stapleton, Marcus King Band and Caylee Hammick were phenomenal! Awesome show! Leaving the parking lot not much less short of a disaster!!
A
All seats are covered under the roof and have unobstructed view of the stage!
d
Loved it me my daughter and my son-in-law we went and saw Brad Paisley in concert it was fantastic had a really good time
R
The no re-entry policy is ridiculous! If they can check your ticket in they should be able to check you out. They need to tell you what time the headliner starts. Sucks when you have 13 bands start before and you are stuck in the venue with 7 dollar bottles of water on 97 degree day! Shame on Live Nation! After paying 50 dollars more per ticket for VIP club access sure didn't feel VIP!!!
B
Staff was very kind. I have handicapped issues. Well laid out. Easy access for wheelchair and scooters. Good food choices! Premium parking is awesome!!!!! Pay the fee. It was worth it!!!!!
G
Parking was free, lots of space in lot. Short walk to front gate. Beers and food $$$$, but not any higher than another venue. Plenty of bathrooms, grass up on the lawn was well kept and clean. Sound was pretty good for an outdoor shed. Will come back.
T
Large venue, clean and set up well. The parking was kind of a mess though. Make sure you know what letter area you're parked in.
S
Lovely outdoor venue in the springtime. Orderly entrance, clear bags instead of purses required so had to run back to car but no worries. Just check entry requirements before going. No paper tickets, your phone is your ticket..
D
The seats are designed for children, I sat curled up like a cocktail shrimp 🍤 for the entire event. They really need to make these seats bigger, for the money it costs for tickets, it's the least they can do. Other than that, it was a good venue to see a concert.
K
If LOVE wanna paying $14 for a pint of mediocre beer, this is the place for you! DEFINITELY pre-game before hitting this money pit!
M
Great venue! Very friendly and helpful customer service. You can see the stage well from wherever you sit. Drink prices are normal and bathroom are pretty clean. Paying for the area that had seats is fun, safe and you can see the stage great. Lawn seats are more for the dancers, partiers, pot heads, drunks and sometimes fights. We had lawn seats a couple of times. We can see the stage good but crowd can get really crazy depending on band that visits. A lot of teens and young adults in the lawn seat area.
D
Just saw a great Doobie Brothers show there. Great sound, section 201. Parking coming and going not horrible. Clear bag policy bring enforced
A
It was cool saw Nick Cannon wild n out show first time there. Not much room in the seating area very tight but it was nice
D
Outside atmosphere amazing. Had actually seats not lawn view BUT the amphitheater allows you to rent chairs for the lawn if you did not bring a lawn chair which is very convenient!
R
I understand the cashless stance of the venue, but not being able to get a physical or email/text receipt is ridiculous. Show was good, but food left a lot to be deaires.
P
Probably the best show venue in the 757. Easy to find seats, lots of parking, and pretty spacious. I wish more artists came here.
D
I enjoy going to concerts at this venue. Organized and secure. Lots of room on the lawn to sit and enjoy the music!
D
Typical Amphitheater seating but I will tell you they had a good variety of food and Beverages and places to sit in the concessions area. My one and only complaint, and it's a big one, is the pricing for alcoholic beverages is extremely high. It's for this reason that I just can't give it a high-ranking they're really taking advantage of the visitors.
S
The concert was beyond exceptional. The venue was nice and easy to navigate. I loved it with my whole heart. The problem the traffic and disorganization regarding the parking. Almost a 2 hour adventure for a 10 minute drive. Merging multiple lanes of traffic was a disaster.
C
Really nice. Wish security would make fellow concert goers sit down, they block it for others.
j
Went to the Jimmy Buffet concert and had an outstanding time, but was super disappointed in the vendors/ venue. Went to order a yard margarita, it was all I had been talking about because of MARGARITAVILLE, and found out they didn’t have any. Seriously?! It was a Jimmy Buffet concert for goodness sake! Then about 3/4 of the way through the concert and BEFORE the encore, they ran out of Landshark and LARGE cups. Again, SERIOUSLY?! Super disappointed.
o
Great concert venue, plenty of food & drink options. The restrooms are usually pretty messy, but having thousands of people coming in & out in a short amount of time, it's not bad. Great video screens for the lawn view.
J
No cash accepted for anything and the drinks were expensive the food was ok but small portions
P
They only take credit cards for everything. Just to let you know
J
I love this concert venue. I've been here over a dozen times in the last couple years and it's always a good time. The parking isn't that bad compared to a lot of the concert pavilions I've been to and they have plenty of police and traffic guides to help get everyone out quickly at the end of the shows. The beer is expensive as with most concert venues but they have plenty of vendors to go to so the waits usually aren't bad. One note about the box office, don't waste your time trying to wait in line to get the best tickets. The process at the window is painfully slow so you'll get much better seats by just going through Live Nation or Ticket master.
A
Cannot get “health check” information unless I purchased a ticket already? The phone, livenation.com and ticket master send send me jn a complete circle to “contact the event organizer” about health checks. However, the phone message says to check live nation, or if you’ve bought a ticket, to check emails. I will not buy until I know the current status of what is required. Yet I can’t get that basic information. Please advise.
K
This is a wonderful venue to see the stars for great prices. We have seen Chris Brown, Janet Jackson, and Journey here all since June 2018. This should give you a great idea of the variety of the acts that perform here. We have sat in the lawn area and the inside stage area. You can see and hear well from both due to the great sound and tv screens. They do have food and drinks such as mixed drinks and nachos, but the prices are steep. This is all around a great venue. Be prepared to do a long walk up a steep hill to get to the lawn and main stage area. You can rent a low green chair for $4 or bring your own. The walk to parking is not well lit, and leaving can be hectic due to the staff's lack of organization and guidance, but it improved each time we went. Make sure to where comfortable walking shoes because it is grass and tree branches you will step on, not a sidewalk. This was a lesson learned after our first show. All in all, a great concert venue. If you are seeing a show, get there early or you will be stuck at the light an hour because it gets congested!
C
Nice venue and the weather played nice which made for a fun night.. needs better food selections. 311 put on a great concert
A
Great venue, only disappointment was when they turned the screens off sometimes between songs when the band was talking or at the end when the bands were finishing up. Be prepared for traffic in and out of event, it wasn't the worst traffic but it does back up. We just waited a bit to let the mass exodus to clear up before leaving the lot and that helped us avoid sitting in traffic. You can bring chairs for the lawn or rent them there, as well as bring in food in ziplock bags and a unopened water bottle.
f
Went to Janet Jackson concert. Thousands of people but staff did great job of getting everyone parked and admitted to the venue. The venue is a great place for concerts and I will return.
H
Drinks vary in prices, (most beers start $6) but overall a good venue for outdoor concerts pictures from knotfest roadshow 2019
A
Always a great time! Love the music genre variety the Amphitheater has. Bob Seger was awesome last night! Great music & good memories!
L
Experience was good except they don't take cash so if you don't have a card you are out of luck.
J
Concert was amazing except the staff was constantly harassing some of the patrons for the littlest things and it was distracting from the show. For an outdoor venue it's pretty sad you can't vape/smoke. I kind of get the cigarettes because of the butt clean up, but really its the same as the smoke machines the bands use!?! Some of the staff was amazing and very helpful, other staff members were slightly power hungry and it took away from the show. I will not be going here again unless it's a concert I cannot catch at another venue. I wish the concert was at the Portsmouth Pavilion, they don't harass people constantly.
j
Awesome!always a good time for any concert! Love the people who work there.
D
Excellent Amphitheater, but so much conjestion getting to your seats. Bathrooms were very clean and food and drinks were appropriate.
A
Be careful if you buy accessible seating in wheelchair orchestra section. I bought 3 tickets for last night that were labeled WHEELCHAIR seats 1, 2, 3 and when we arrived we were told they were first come, first served and usher tried to put us 3 rows back. What?!?! Accessible seating is GA there? Nowhere on the tickets was there a message that were weren’t guaranteed a specific seat. I bought the tickets during a presale and purchased the first 3 right by the stage. They changed the configuration of the seats from the seating map, but we still should have received the first 3 seats 1-3. People should have been seated based on the number on their ticket. What makes it worse is the two girls in the first 2 seats were jumping, dancing, screaming, drinking and pushing their way to the barricade all night. Really doubt they were handicapped. This is unacceptable, especially since each ticket was $250+fees. People with disabilities shouldn’t have to worry about getting the seat they paid for or having to arrive hours before a show starts to get the view they paid for. The whole point of accessible seating is making sure people with disabilities are accommodated, not put in GA. Horrible, horrible policy.
C
Went to the last year of Warped Tour here. The venue is great, if you don't mind the high prices. Sad to see this type of music venture coming to an end.
C
Incredible venue no matter what kind of band or show you're coming to see. There isn't a bad seat in the house and even though the pit is sometimes pretty sweaty during the hotter season you can never go wrong with the green space as it allows for Great sound and in the summer the sun sets right behind the stage. Always ready to go here for a concert.
P
Pb and jelly at a #godsmackconcert now you know what your missing. Opps, what do u like best guitar riffs or drum kits? we all know it's best when were together. Single never married, disappointed at alot of people that have broke there promises. One star but I'm being paid 14 + an hour to be here, so it's easy to stay profesonal. Every t.v. show every movie PROFESONAL every time, that's how good of an actor I am. And the comment to me about my lyrics being fun is another reason why there's only one star. Because I haven't been properly offered oppurtunity as a singer . Lyrics for sale. I have archive credits for my writings and have used my creative Talent to entertain thousands of people over social media sites throughout the years.
B
Always a great time. I do wish they would sell regular bottled water.
T
It was so cool and very laid back. Everyone and everybody was so friendly. Place was very clean and many choices of food to choice from.
A
Venue is clean and staffed with helpful employees. The only downside is the food and beverage vendors...cold food, overpriced food and beverages. Eat, before you go.
R
An awesome night of music with the Doobie Brothers. Finally after two years had the chance to see them again.
A
Drove three hours to go see a concert I've only dreamed about! The venue was clean, lots of seating, and easy to navigate. As most venues go: it was expensive, the bathrooms had super wets floors, and some people were obnoxious. But overall is was a great value for the cost of lawn seats preferred parking.
R
The concert was great and the venue was clean. As you can see from the photo from their website it clearly states a sealed non-alcoholic beverage can be brought in. After standing in line for 30 minutes we were told we could not bring them in. Our options per security were to pour them out or take them back to the vehicle they didn't care what the website said. We were not the only people impacted or upset about this. Not great customer service, they could have at least offered complimentary bottled water since it was their mistake. Don't believe what's on their website because even if it's there they won't honor it.
b
awesome time, if ever in va beach Virginia you should check the schedule and see what events are going on and make a must while here
B
Great venue for so many things, today is rope training. Thank you so much to the staff for the hospitality.
K
It’s a pretty good venue. All the employees/ venders working in the various areas are very kind and courteous. The bathrooms are always kept clean. But the immense cigarette and pot smoke makes iattending concerts here less enjoyable. A drunken lady with a burning cigarette in one hand and a drink in the other almost burned me with her cigarette, in the ladies restroom. We have tickets for one more concert this season but after that we will just purchase tickets at indoor arenas where smoking is prohibited. The small concerts at the oceanfront are better also.
R
I just attended the Foreigner/Cheap Trick/ Jason Bonham concert tonight. I was very pleased overall with the venue and concert! I have attended numerous events at this location.... but I finally felt like the management handled the parking much better and the staff was very courteous!!!...Of course the bands were excellent!!
S
My favorite place to see a concert. I have seen concerts at other local venues but nothing compares to the amphitheater.
M
A great outdoor venue to see a concert! You have so many options in seating from being under cover to the open sky lawn. Forgot your chair, no worries you can rent one or if you have T-Mobile, you don't have to pay for the rental. A variety of food and beer options and of course the merch stands! The only negative is that the people at the gates are inconsistent. They should all be trained to do things the same way.
E
Loved that the parking was free and very close to the venue. Event staff was friendly and helpful. Security kept things well under control as well. Restrooms were maintained as best as possible and grounds were nicely maintained.
R
Just an awesome venue, great for any show.
K
I went to a concert here and it was very fun! My only complaints would be how the beverages are a bit overpriced and that it smelled a bit of weed. Overall, it a well kept and entertaining place, perfect for enjoying a concert!
S
Great place to see a concert. Plenty of concession stands to get a variety of food or drinks and the bathrooms were very clean . It is HORRIBLE trying to get out of the parking lot,we sat there for an hour and a half. Please get us the hell out of there faster.
A
Maybe it's where we sat on the lawn but our ears had to recover from it the next day! 😄
H
Great concert venue with decent food and drink options
M
Great venue for Chris Stapleton! Loved the wine bar but a bit too pricey!!! Lower your prices! Ridiculous! Great choices for food, wine, beer and cocktails. A favorite concert venue!
V
Plenty of parking, easy to get in, a lot of seats, and high prices on drinks.
d
Great venue. Drinks are a bit expensive.
B
Good venue lot of artists come. But unless you are close or under the covered areas the music is not very loud. That is the most irritating part. But many good artists play here frequently. Lots of free parking!
L
Nice and clean outdoor venue. Jonas Brothers concert was so fun here. Staff was also very nice. The only area for improvement is parking.
D
The venue is great, but the staff are a bit inept. We went to a Fall Out Boy concert there years ago, and a large group of strung-out kids from the grass area came down and stood in the seated area, literally in the rows, right in front of us who actually paid for our seats. I had to search for an usher--they were nowhere to be found--and when I did find some, the ushers wouldn't remove the kids, even though we showed them tickets proving that the seats were ours. Unreal. In short, unless you're a young person yourself and enjoy total pandemonium, I would avoid the venue if it's an act that attracts large amounts of teens and tweens.
W
They bring the BIGGEST stars in the music world to the stage. The employees are friendly and very helpful. All in all an awesome experience.
J
Awesome place to go and watch Live concerts!!
A
Drinks are expensive but that is to be expected. I always have a great time when I attend events here. Even with COVID restrictions in place, we weren't waiting long at all for admission into the venue.
A
The food and drinks were expensive, but the employees there for security were curt and professional.
D
Love love this place. Great concerts definitely recommend
C
The entertainment was great and well organized. However, there's still room for improvement. There was no water bottle being sold and the can water was very high priced and the food wasn't great but high price.
M
Excellent venue but the cost of water is OUTRAGEOUS
D
Awful! I won't be back and neither will the people we were there with. The 1st issue was insisting the ticket is on your phone ONLY and not having wifi access ON MY PHONE there. You have to stand in a little area where they have wifi. A friend had to stand in just the right spot and she pulled up mine and hers to get through the line. Next I have a purse for these things that's very small, it fits my wallet, phone, keys etc they only allow a bag the size of a hand...my phone is bigger than my hand. I was told I could leave my purse at the gate. Ummmmm NO! I dumped the contents of my purse in a clear plastic bag so everyone can see what's in there... the sound from the lawn was terrible.
G
My only complaint is that the bathrooms need some air circulation, a fan, a window, a vent in the roof, something... It was noticably warmer and stuffier in the bathrooms compared to outdoors, and during a pandemic it would be nice to not feel like you are breathing in used air...
B
The only thing I had a problem with was that everything was "cash only". Not quite ready for that.
j
Fun place Love to see shows there. I appreciate the security there. Always a great time.
C
Good venue with well distributed facilities. Staff was well trained, informed and professional.
A
Affordable and nice way to enjoy a show. Parking was quick & easy when arriving and leaving. I've been here twice now and plan on coming for future events as well.
H
Good experience, the box office person was very friendly
E
Big open venue with tons of seating Great place for a Slightly Stoopid/Tribal seeds show! BUT, CRAFT BEER WAS 17 BUCKS A POP!
D
Need to have speakers or louder ones in the vending area. If I'm going to spend that much time in line for some food I'd like to be able to hear the show
R
Depending on the entry requirements, entering and exiting are pretty easy. Get there early though, once people start walking to the concert, driving can be tricky.
J
Great outdoor venue for concerts. It is well maintained and organized, with plenty of staff to assist. The parking lot is conveniently located as well. There are large video screens projecting the stage performance so those with lawn tickets have no problem seeing what's happening on stage. The bathrooms are clean and there are plenty of water fountains. The drawback is that since only the seated area is covered, weather will impact your experience.
C
Because I was a place that my family and I have great memories of rocking out together.
T
Such a fantastic place to see a concert!
F
Had to go pick up my Something In The Water 2020 Tickets ! Was captured by the news standing in line and these were some of the cars that came through to get their tickets as well.
B
You can take in a sealed bottle water, but they will open it and take cap. So you spill it out before you climb the stairs to get to your seat. Very unorganized and not any good food options. The layout and parking is the worst.
M
A good live music venue, they put somw new work i to the venue this past year making it more social friendly. Michael Rapaport get at me!
D
Great place to see concerts. Seating was awesome. Saw my all time favorite Chris Stapleton there. Loved It!!!
R
Truly a great experience. A must see!!
p
The only problem-(a big one)-is they need to have more golf carts that meet handicapped in the parking lot! Once inside the park the staff were amazing helping me as a handicapped person get my seating.
B
Box Office People are terrific! Friendly, Polite, Helpful
K
Friendly staff, grounds are kept nice, bathrooms are kept well, but high beverage prices. And when it's a general admission show, EVERYONE should have access to front area by the stage, not just a select few, and or lawn section should be open if that's the case.......not cool to heard everyone into seating area only. This venue has slowly been becoming less and less appealing everytime we return.
T
Great venue! My only complaint is there is only one narrow walkway to/from concessions. Otherwise great acoustics!
H
Awesome venue, so clean and beautiful! Was super fast and easy to park and leave the lot. Very easy to get in, no lines to enter, and plenty of help to direct people where to go. I don't know what other people are complaining about. We saw Zac Brown and the place was packed to the gills. Drove down from NY, and I would definitely see another show here again! Very organized.
B
great place to see a concert. free parking. nice big lush lawn seating. you can rent chairs and blankets. food and drinks are pricey. good selection of food, beer and wine. covered seating stadium style is nice. great biew of stage, plus 5 jumbo monitors.
a
REO Speedwagon and Chicago provided a great evening of music. The venue was great as usual and weather was nice and slightly cool for a mid-July evening.
C
Great pic venue with a huge lawn section and plenty of seated sections as well. There is loads of room in the two courtyards to convene with your pals and comrades and get some beverages and memorabilia. The speaker systems are more than loud enough for any concert series. Because of the size of the venue the prices are also usually extremely cheap relative to other venues. Parking is adequate and there are two entrances to split up the incoming flow of foot traffic into the venue. Overall a great amphitheater through and through.
I
For my first official concert it was super fun, and everyone that worked there were nice and gave me pointers lol
A
We have been to a few concerts now and we always have a great time. The last concert seemed to be over sold as you couldn't move at all it was nuts lol. The drinks are waaaaay over priced. Be prepared to pay $16 a drink. The food was pretty good but also a little on the expensive side. The best value was a tray that came with fries, chicken strips, and a drink . We will be back though, like I said it is always a good time.
M
Great venue, saw a Reggae show here lol 😆 someone forgot to tell security Weed is legal in Va...
T
Nice venue, food and drinks are very expensive as you'd imagine, parking is very tight, make sure you get there early if you want to be close
S
Ill give you a little hint. Buy section 101 or 103 row Y (last row lower level) the isles are twice as wide and you have a yellow concrete slab to set drinks on/put feet up a little.
J
Great concert venue. One HUGE problem....spider webs and spiders in majority of back seats. Perhaps it would be a good idea to hose/power pressure wash all seats before an event? It is hot enough that those will dry by the time the doors open. Just some improvement thoughts. Additionally, reconsider vendor choices and the $12 bottle of water sales....one thing is to be profitable another entirely is to be vultures.
L
Great venue for a summer concert. The lawn is always well kept and the seating area is clean and easy to access. Prices of beverages are out of control but I guess that's how they make their money. Overall it's always a great experience attending an event at the amphitheatre.
S
My concert was postponed until 25 August 2021 and I was never contacted. As of 9 July Live Nation states the event organizer has closed their refund window. Great job starting the clock without telling your customers. I'll be sure to let everyone I know to avoid your venue in the future.
C
The venue is extremely nice, however some of the staff could do with a lesson in manners. Also, WHY aren't the food joints open AFTER the concerts?? They would make a killin! If some of the staff were nicer and the food joints were still open, I'd give it 5 stars.
T
I was very disappointed with not only the operations of the traffic flow, but also with the view of our seats. We sat in traffic for an hour and a half and ended up getting out of line and decided to park across the street in the shopping plaza. My husband and I ended up walking to the venue which was faster than the line in traffic. We ended up missing 60% of the Nas performance since we had to stand in the security line which moved like molasses. Finally we get to our seat and there is a huge pole obstructing our view of the performance. Aside from that the stage screen was also blocked by the overgrown bamboo to the left of the stage. The website did not show nor note the details of the seat section. Our seating was in section 205 seats 36 and 37 row J. Avoid this section at all cost. Viewing show from the aisle is not an option which is understandable for safety reasons. Performances and music was great, but overall the amount of money we paid for our tickets was not worth it.
