I have been a customer over 2 years. I LOVE the branch on Kellam. Never any issues. The only problem I have with Chartway is the process and time it takes to get a refund. I asked the manager today if my money is taken fraudulently am I supposed to wait days for it to be returned? She stated it’s a process that can take 3-5 business days for a provisional credit. An error was made on my part. I contacted the merchant, the returned the payment. It has now been three business days and three payments are deducted from my account. After an hour in the branch I was informed they will TRY to get to it today. This is the only financial institute I know that will take days to return your money. It’s like you’re being pat down before you get your own money. I showed them PROOF today and I still walk out the bank without the money that was returned to me in my account. I’m truly disappointed as I love Chartway. Loved.

I always go to this branch because all the lady’s are very nice and they get to know you personally instead of just looking at you like just another customer, Kate is always very energetic and helpful, the other tellers are great as well.The managers are very down to earth and everyone there is just simply awesome. Definitely recommend this branch over all, even if it’s out dated and short staffed but that isn’t their fault.

The only reason they are even getting one star is cause of SOME of the Employees there. They are awesome and super friendly. BUT can someone please tell me how this place can be a bank but not have money. They literally have no $5’s ever! And once and awhile wont have the coin rolls I need. Even the Jimmy John’s employees have told me the same thing when I went and vented to them. And anyone I actually tell this to always say the same thing... HOW? Then don’t get me started on the lines... only have two tellers open even tho they see that the line is almost out the door sometimes 🤦🏻♀️

I go in here last week and the young white security guard ask me what do I need? I thought to myself, None of your business! I have several accounts here. A black guy comes in and goes to the teller. Then the security guard comes from behind the desk and stands in the teller area. That young white guy does "not" need to be security anywhere. He seems to be an instigator.

This place is absolutely the worst place to bank. I came here to set up account and it took over a hour in the branch after setting it up online. Refer a friend and get $50. Well that never happened it’s a clause. Read the small print. Later I go in again and want my pin # changed and the bank couldn’t that after waiting in lobby 25 minutes.

I just opened my account on Friday. It’s Tuesday and the ATM on Lynnhaven is not working, they didn’t tell me at the holland location your cash is not available right away at the ATM, you have to use the walk up one if you want your cash available immediately upon deposit, also they did not disclose checks are held for 7 days; and their system is very slow. Glenna said it’s listed in their multi page disclosure. She also stated I could have just come inside to a teller even though I wanted the convenience of the ATM. So as a new customer, I highly recommend going to a different credit union or bank, and apparently you have to make sure you read the roughly 25 page disclosure if you want to fully and accurately be informed about your accounts here. Everything falls back on you as the new customer. I’m taking my business elsewhere.

I waited for at 40 minutes to be skip over twice. I thought they had sign in sheets for a reason but if you are a regular you can skip the line and get help. After she skip me and I got upset she then offer to have the black employee help me. I should say the lady was white which make me realize racism is ever we go. I don't believe I will be banking with chartway any long.
