We started the process with Shelby and his team after hearing Rob on 98 Rock talk him up so much. We thought the absence of return phone calls, texts and emails and generally no questions answered was normal for this industry- it's definitely not! We almost gave up on the home buying process because of the lack of knowledge and communication from United Wholesale Lending, it was horribly discouraging. Thankfully we found another lender that was knowledgeable and always available. Maybe Shelby and his team would have been better suited for someone who's purchased multiple homes and doesn't need their hands held as a first time home buyer like us. Either way, definitely NOT recommended!

The experience was amazing. Kyle and team was upfront and transparent with me about every step of the process. They worked super hard for us in the every changing market. It was a pleasure and I would recommend them to any and everyone who wants a mortgage.

Hello….. My fiancé Greg Schroth and I, used United Wholesale Lending for a refinance and cash out, and we would like to say that Shelby and Peter have an amazing company! They also have an excellent staff. Matt our Loan Officer, went above and beyond, in answering our questions at any given time when we called him. Mike, our loan processor, held our hand through the entire process, also answering any questions we had at any time of the day. We highly recommend UWL, Matt and Mike for any of your Mortgage needs. I do not recommend United Wholesale Mortgage (UWM). It is a lender and not a bank. So, after contracting a mortgage loan, you are stuck with your initial deal, and they will not allow you to negotiate a lower interest rate based on the market. You will spend a few hours trying to talk to someone. Bottom line, they will redirect you to a broker, JWH Financial, the middle man. UWM only care about making sure that you pay your loan each month. Even if you are a good standing customer, unfortunately, you are just a number. I do not recommend UNW. They do not care about customers; they just accept transactions. A few years ago, I refinanced my mortgage with JWH Finance and John Sheetz (broker). Everything was pretty straightforward; they followed the rules like any other broker. Except they never mentioned or informed me that United Wholesale Mortgage (lender) was not a bank. As a result, I could not negotiate a lower rate, and I have had to restart the re-fininancing process again. You cannot renegotiate your loan with a lender. They only manage your money. So, I reached FWH Finance to lower my interest rate and, it took me some tricks and a few months before reconnecting with JWH Finance. They never returned my calls. And finally, when they reached me back, refinancing had just been a nightmare. They asked me for the wrong information; They asked for IRS form 1120, US Corp Income Tax Return, but I am either on w2 or 1099. I was amazed by the lack of professionalism this time. No follow-up, and I am still waiting for the result of the case I opened. I will say that they do not care about customers either, especially if your case requires some workaround. For instance, they could not understand what to do on 1099. In addition, as a customer, they never reached out to tell me that I could benefit from a lower interest rate for my existing loan. Their strategy is to look for one-time customers, get their commission, and that is it. Their goal is to complete as many transactions as they can. So, I do not recommend working with JWH Finance, and United Wholesale Mortgage or you will be trapped in some difficult situation over time.

My husband and I shopped 4 different lenders prior to meeting Peter and his team. We were convinced we knew the lender we wanted to use. Until we met Peter. He was straightforward, honest, and responsive. He knows his stuff and is very professional. No matter what time of day, he was there to help and answer questions. We loved their videos on their website. Those videos helped us to understand what we were doing or supposed to be doing as well as why we would need to. Great resources for the any home buyer! If you are looking to buy a home, there is no better team to work with. If you want your loan done fast and done right, give United Wholesale Lending a call. You won’t regret it!!! We sure don’t!!! Everyone at United Wholesale Lending is great! This is not the first time I’ve refinanced with them, but this time I was able to refinance two properties start to finish in about 2.5 weeks! We are closing on our vacation home tomorrow and am grateful for the hard work Peter and his team put in. Originally we had multiple transactions going on at once, Peter covered the appraisals out of pocket. Very generous (over 1k+). When the deal fell through (to no fault of Peter - we received a bad home inspection report) he insisted that we not reimburse him and not to worry about it. It took us a few more months to find the right property/deal with our realtor but when we did Peter and his team were still there for us and closed the deal in 19 days! Mind you, this was during the Thanksgiving holiday when most were gone the entire week and appraisers were taking extra long. Crazy! Peter is very sharp, well connected and creative. He is responsive and fully engaged in the entire process and knows how to close a deal. I'm confident we received the best possible rate and would not hesitate recommending Peter and his team to friends and family. Pleasant to work with, trustworthy, professional and experienced. Five stars.

Peter and his staff were extremely professional and knowledgeable. Every step of the way! I used United Wholesale when I purchased my home in 2019 and then again when I refinanced in 2020 for a lower rate and shorter term. He and his staff were available at all hours and quick to respond to my questions. They made the process quick and easy from my first contact with him to receiving the news that my loan was funded. Peter and his team helped us not once, but twice with a refinance to lower our rate 2% in 2 years! We are super grateful for how smooth they made the process. It was quick and painless, and saved us hundreds a month that we will now use to travel the world. As a young couple under 30, and first time homeowners, we appreciated Peter’s guidance and explanations throughout the process. He is very knowledgeable and busts his butt to help you. I would recommend this company in a heartbeat.

This is one of the worst agencies I've ever dealt with. They've outright lied to me multiple times now. They pre-approved us to buy a home at certain rate, and then once we had our offer accepted and we had a limited time to get our loan, they bumped it up .3%. I was required to go with an appraisal company that they chose (Appraisal Nation). Who gave me a quote for the appraisal then changed me an extra $250 for nothing, which UWL approved. Then UWL lied about approving it, until appraisal nation sent me an e-mail that confirmed they did. UWL promised to reimburse me. I had to contact them multiple times about it and then they only reimbursed me half. We closed in August and they told in writing multiple times that our first bill wouldn't be till October. We thought that was nice and would give us time to manage our expenses. I paid that bill, but then received a call saying we had a past bill from September that was overdue and they would report us to the credit agency if we didn't pay it immediately. So now we have 2 bills due in one month, because they just keep lying to us. Do not use this agency. They are awful.

I’m so glad I went with United Wholesale Lending. Pete and his whole team was nothing but welcoming and willing to explain anything throughout the entire process. I ask a ton of questions and they didn’t hesitate to give me the answers I needed. We are first time home buyers and they made everything go so smoothly without any hiccups. Not only that I got preapproved within an hour and did a 17 day close!! This put me ahead of all of the other competing offers. Not only that, but I also got an interest rate that was incredibly low!! All around an outstanding experience that I can’t thank the whole UWL team enough for!
