United Federal Credit Union - Reno Northwest Ambassador Dr, Reno

I can highly recommend United Federal Credit Union. We've had a checking account at this Credit Union since 1987, back when it was a credit union for Washoe County School Teachers. Almost all of my families finance needs have been met by UFCU. Cars, a boat, a home equity loan and online banking and bill pay have made our lives easier, more enjoyable and profitable.

This locations ATM has messed up on multiple cash deposits, once for 700 and another for 400. This ATM will error out and cause your deposit to not show up or to be reversed with no warning and no cash back. This branches customer service is terrible for non members, they'll refuse to service CO-OP members as "only our ATM is CO-OP.

I work late as a waiter. I make cash tips. Often times when I try to deposit cash after normal hits, the atm here is down. I've been told UFCU has multiple ATMs available, but I've yet to find another that will take cash deposits. There's another at Walmart on Keitzke, but that's so far out of my way.

I've been banking with UFCU for many years now and I've always been very happy with the customer service Jeff and his team have taken great care of me!

I always get right in and out, the bankers are incredibly personable and efficient, and they make transactions extremely easy.

First of all, I love United Federal Credit Union. I am very happy to be a member as their services are all great and all of their representatives have always been friendly and helpful. However, this branch on Ambassador near Robb Drive is very poorly run. Even though there are windows inside for four tellers, every time I have gone there has only been one window open with only one person left in charge of the lobby, the drive-up ATM, processing loan payments, and everything in between. I have tried going during lunch hours, after opening, and before closing about ten different times and yet every time it is the same situation. Wait times are unacceptably long (I once waited twenty minutes when there was only one person in line ahead of me). Even worse, when the lines are long I have seen people that appear to be managers and loan officers who are doing nothing else at the time looking out from their offices yet they make no effort to open a window and help. Even though I live right down the road from this branch, I often find myself driving through the city to the branch on Bible or Kietzke and returning home in less time than it would have taken to wait it out at this location. I’m giving this branch two stars because the tellers that I’ve interacted with have always been friendly (if not overworked) and have always taken care of everything correctly. I love UFCU, but this branch is so inefficient it might as well not exist at all.

UPDATE - amended my rating from 2* to 4* as the service itself at the Reno branch was commendable. Even though they were busy, all staff were courteous, friendly and helpful. 12/10 - Please note - this review is not directed specifically towards the Reno branch, but the company as a whole. Very poor online payment options, very antiquated, please get with the times! Contact hours on weekends also very limited, again - get with the times! People do business 24/7 these days, and not everyone works the regular hours of days gone. Please update your offerings, very disappointed.

I've been a member of UFCU for at least 15 years. Better service than the bigger banks.

The staff has always been very helpful and actually stopped what would have been a scam on my account.
