If my first direct experience with Truist is any indication I’ll be refi-ing my car loan elsewhere asap. The auto-pay info from Suntrust didn’t transfer automatically to Truist. I couldn’t update the acct/routing number directly at the branch. I couldn’t use my debit card to pay my car loan without them processing it as a cash advance (isn’t the point of a debit card to replace checks?). I had to see three different people to get all this not accomplished- and had to reexplain three times - no one handed me off with any degree of customer service. Abysmal.

Art Layliev was very friendly and did everything he could do to help me figure out the problem I was having. Fantastic customer service here as always!

Not one employee looks up to greet customers or to acknowledge that they might eventually be able to help a customer... always have to wait like I am unconvincing the staff for being at a job they obviously don’t like. The management at this location and the regional manager need to learn and apply management skills themselves and to their employees. Time to move to another Bank that cares!

It was a terrible business account management experience. Our company had one resident and the second non-resident. A business account was opened for us, and a month later they said that they would block us because they did not need residents. That is, this bank is not interested in business growth and foreign investment. We lost money and time working with this bank. We had to cancel our own Kickstarter campaign. I don’t want to have any business with this bank anymore.

SunTrust is a VERY slow bank. It's not this branch, it's the organization in general. It's unbelievable how people can stand operating so slowly

Branch Leader, Art Layliev, is very helpful and knowledgable. He went over and above to assist me. I am very grateful. I highly recommend reaching out to him if you need a loan of any kind.

1) Tried to pay off my mortgage there. Woman who helped me was a joke. She was apparently late for work and immediately started to b.s. me, complaining that her computer has "been slow all day", even though it was blatantly obvious that she was just logging in for the morning (it was just after 9am). She also said she needed to "liquify my assets", even though I already told her I had cash in the bank (as opposed to 401k, etc.). She also felt the need to remind me that I was in a SunTrust branch. 2) Theirs and the branch on East Bay and Belcher's ATMs SUUUUCK. I can only withdraw money from both of them MAYBE 1 out of 5 times if I'm lucky. What happens when I use ANY OTHER ATM? Works every time. I've called and visited branches, and no one knows why or seems interested in figuring out the cause of the problem, let alone a solution. 3) Their merger with BB&T does not seem to be going well. If you visit a branch only certain people can help you, so service is slower. That would be fine if they doubled the staff, but they didn't. I've been with SunTrust since the late 80's. Fortunately I was eventually able to pay off my mortgage with them so there are no good reasons to do any other business with them.

Absolutely awful experience. The bank advertises the ease of opening an account completely online. I started an account online. I did not deposit money right away but opened a second account a week later and deposited money in both accounts, one for myself and one for my wife. I made a couple very small purchases at Walmart to test the card and that was it. 2 weeks later, I get ready to set up direct deposit but I cannot get into my account. I call Customer service, they tell me my account is being closed and they can't tell me why, and there's no one they can send me to. They suggest I go to a local bank and ask them. I go there and they inform me that they also cannot give me any information other than to call customer service. They then inform me that this happens a lot and my best option is to just find another bank... Oh, and that my money will be sent by mail but no one knows a timeframe of when it will be sent! While in the bank I heard numerous stories of other people losing their whole account (including their credit card account) with this bank due to small confusions or first time mistakes, which means they can never have a relationship with this bank again. I have absolutely no idea what "mistake" I've made to lose my account but, as I was told by this bank, there's absolutely no way they will tell me and no chance I will ever be able to do business with them again. I clearly will not recommend this bank and will be sure to voice this to my peers. This was an unfortunate situation.

Worst bank in the history of banks!!! Do NOT get an account here. Run to ANY other bank. Customer service is nasty, holds get placed wo notice, 3 reps tell u 3 diff things, fraud/security dept. doesn’t talk to customers. They forget this is YOUR money and that banking was built on relationships. I’m a person not a number. Worst bank ever. I’ll take my cash app card any day over these monsters.
