Services rendered were fine. I had an emergency and needed service. Giving me a quote of $8,600.00 on a 17 year old car is a bit ridiculous. My Toyota suddenly became an Audi A8 overnight! I've contacted my regular ASE Master Tech to look over the car, he knows my car very well and stated the Dealer's are trying to look for anything with a speck of rust and telling consumers they need it replaced due to lack of sales. Any vehicle over 10 years old is going to have some surface rust on connectors or anything metal. I also like how they conveniently didn't provide a list of services that I denied on my receipt so I can't prove to another mechanic of the ludicrous services that they recommended. Opposite of Sunny is Shady. You guy's tried to completely rip me off. $1200 for power steering hoses? What a joke. 2nd time there and WILL NOT be back.

First, I want to thank Sean for being an actual person and answering the phone when I called. Prior to calling Toyota of Portsmouth, I had called several places and nobody would answer the phone. I saw a vehicle on carfax that matched what I was looking for. It was a car that had just been traded in, that he didn't even know about yet. To his surprise I was ready to purchase the car. In fact I did. Right over the phone. Second, I want to thank Joe for being brave enough to get in a car with me (lol), and helping my husband and I fill out the paperwork. The whole staff was awesome from the phone call the handing the keys over. They all have an awesome personality too. I'm very happy with my car (subaru legacy) and for the service they continue to give us. My husband and I live in Maine and traveled two hours because dealerships in maine couldn't give us what we were looking for and for the right price. You guys rock. Thank you! UPDATE - WHAT A TEAM! After purchasing my car in the pouring rain, I went home and found a dent in the rocker panel! Sean and his team had it fixed for me. I drove 2 hrs and dropped off my car. yesterday, I went to pick my car up after they fixed the rocker panel for me. Within 24 hours! the next day at pick up I found my seat torn! I was like, ugh, seriously right now. I went back inside and talked to someone in service who reported it to the service manager. within seconds that service manager was on the phone and was correcting my problem. if I were at Charlies in Augusta, Maine they would have blamed me and came with excuses about how it was my fault. Not this service manager! he apologized for the incident and gave me a rental car again on them. This service manager had my seat repaired in less than 24 hours! THATS SERVICE! Fast forward to pick up today. Smooth! I'm still sitting in my car writing this because I'm in shock at how they handled the situation. At charlies in augusta, maine after the sale you don't hear from the salesman. Joe has literally called me every step of the way! I cannot say enough about this team. Call and buy a car off Joe and Sean I promise you won't be disappointed. I guess if you're a tight wad and don't know mistakes happen then this isn't the place for you. I can't speak for the other reviews on this page, but I can speak for my experience. I will be back to buy my husband's truck (when he's ready) and I will be back when I'm ready to trade in my Subaru! I thank you guys from the bottom of my heart. you will forever be known to me as the dealership that answers the phone! Excellent customer sevice.

Today I called Toyota of Portsmouth trying to locate a Toyota Rav. Having family in the Portsmouth area who have purchased vehicles there and recommended to call, I gave them a call. The salesman was very nice to me however, since I am from VT, I was informed that there will be a $ 4,000.00 surcharge for purchasing a vehicle by someone out of State. I really believe that this is unfair and may not be legal. I have to wonder if this is this some form of discrimination? I ran a business for 35 years in VT and would never consider charging someone from out of state of a premium rate. They would have been better telling me there was not one available. I do not think that this is fair at all.... and when this shortage is over, customers who fall for this will remember.

"Not in the database" the company says. I definitely had a service performed here, under my married name. These people very rarely answer the phone, even less rarely return voicemails and the service manager, John, has a very stern and very unfriendly demeanor. I will not be doing business with this company again and would not refer anyone here! My bill showed a much different amount than I was actually charged. I had to keep calling the service center as they don't act professionally and return calls themselves! I won't bother disputing anything with these people because I've heard too many excuses from them already.

Yet another dealership that won't give fair market value on a trade - kbb has my vehicle at 26k Portsmouth's offer was 21k YIKES 😳 Are there any honest and fair car dealerships out there that won't try to Screw u !?!??!?? I Think Not - Mr Page the kbb on my trade in Pittsburgh was listed at 26 k - and I had no doubt u were going to sell the supra !

I heard through word of mouth about how this dealership has great customer service and I couldn’t be more happier! The service advisor, Dave Anderson was fantastic! He assured me that my issue would be covered by the warranty since my car is still new and though I had to come back the next day since one of the parts wasn’t available, he welcomed me like I was a long time customer. My wife and I are from Maine, but we couldn't find the Toyota Tacoma we wanted in the state. So glad we decided to go to Toyota of Portsmouth to test drive a truck we saw online! Connor Henderson helped us out and he was superb from start to finish. He was very helpful and not pushy at all. He was more like a resource for us rather than salesperson. We committed to the new truck after the test drive but had to sell our old truck first. Connor worked with his supervisor to make the deal happen (they held the truck for us for a few days). Everything about the transaction was great, I honestly cannot think of anything negative about the whole experience. I highly recommend this dealership!

My experience with Toyota of Portsmouth was good at the time of purchase of my Toyota Tundra. However, that ended after the sale was completed. Toyota of Portsmouth then sold my personal information to multiple insurance and survey companies and I have been getting harassed for the last 3 years non stop by solicitations. I have contacted them on multiple occasions asking for help and have had no luck. They will sell your personal information! -Joe

My lease was up on my 2019 Tacoma, needed to turn in truck and I wanted to lease a new Tacoma. Because my original lease was through Ally Bank and not Toyota, I had to buy the 2019 Tacoma, register it, then go back to the dealer and trade it in for a new Tacoma lease. I have to share the story because these guys deserve exactly what I write! So my wife and I are on our way to Newport Rhode Island to celebrate our anniversary however it was cut short by service hybrid system in our Toyota Prius! The car was telling us to stop in a safe place immediately, thankfully we were near Portsmouth Toyota! I went into the service department and was greeted very professionally and was taken care of immediately by a service writer! Tom who was the technician took my car and scanned it and was able to reset the codes and send us back on our way so we could celebrate our anniversary! At the very end, I said how much do I owe you guys and they said no worries have a great anniversary! Who does that? No service charge? Nothing is free today but these guys felt there wasn’t a need to give us a bill and we are so grateful and thankful to Portsmouth Toyota for the love they showed! After searching all over Maine for a Toyota 4-Runner and striking out, we decided to look outside the state. We found one on Toyota of Portsmouth's website and after placing an inquiry received a call back within 15 minutes from Ian. Within a couple hours we made it to the dealership and he already had the car processing for us. Service Dept: Very Happy with my recent brake service visit for my 2015 RX-350! John the Service manager is very knowledgeable and professional. With almost 90K miles there was a brake pulsation in the steering wheel especially at high speeds. Rotors removed and machined with a pad replacement at all four corners. Also had the recommended (30K) brake fluid flush done. Wheel nuts torqued to manufacturer spec of 80ftlbs! Mileage updated in the maintenance section on the dash Nav Display! Attention to detail for this work was amazing and certainly matches or surpasses any Lexus dealer at probably half the price! My only question is why a $19.95 charge for my requested tire rotation (J# 3) when wheels need to be removed for this work anyways? Do not hesitate to bring your Toyota here for any type of maintenance! I will be back!
