Honestly, I can't say enough amazing things about Sebastian Starud, The Union Bank and the work they did to get me my mortgage. This was my first time buying a house and, obviously, getting a mortgage. I was referred to them from a friend and it was the best decision I've made in a long time. Let's start with Sebastian. He was incredible, the perfect combination of high end customer service, speed and empathy. He was able to get me a great rate, had superior communication skills/style and helped me emotionally deal with the mess that was my mortgage situation. I purchased a brand new condo where the builder had filled the paperwork incorrectly, which ultimately, affected my mortgage and the process of obtaining one. After a month of hard work, using his connections in underwriting and at the mortgage dept., and having to get a second opinion from another bank, Sebastian got the deal done and with a lower rate and payment than our expectation. I HIGHLY recommend using him, you won't be disappointed. As for The Union Bank, I was very impressed. Their communication and professionalism while maintaining a warm and cordial relationship with me was top notch. Though my situation wasn't optimal, I am pleased with the result and will be recommending them to anyone who asks.

Darren and Angela were both great. We had an issue with our appraisal and they got a new one at the cost of the bank to make sure it was right. My husband is self employed which can sometimes make getting a loan harder, but they worked with us and understood that. They even had a notary come to our house to sign the final paperwork which was very convenient! Amazing service. I could send an email even at 9pm and have an answer in 20 minutes. Highly recommend this bank, if I lived closer I would move all my accounts there!

This was the quickest & easiest Refi I’ve ever done! Tracy Lee was so efficient and diligent on getting all the info they needed and kept in communication with me throughout the whole process. I would highly recommend this team of professionals, the loan was sold before my first payment was due which is common for banks to do, so not a big deal, my rates and everything stayed the same.

I filled out an online survey about interest in refinancing. As soon as I completed it, my phone started ringing off the hook and I received about 15 emails from banks all competing for my business. It was so overwhelming, I didn’t respond to any and deleted all the emails. But they persisted and continued to call and email. One day, I opened an email from Darren Patton from Union Bank in Ohio. It sounded personal and he sent a link to the reviews from other happy customers. I was impressed and I emailed him back. Right away, I told him that I was more comfortable communicating by text (I’m a nurse who works all hours-it’s easier to respond to texts than have to call during “business hours.”) and he respected that and from then on would just text me if he needed info or needed to alert me of anything. I really appreciated that. I thought the refi moved quickly. And that was with the holidays, end of the year and Covid all mixed in. Darren gave me a few different options and I chose the one that worked best for me. I couldn’t have been happier with process. It was easy and streamlined. I wasn’t sure about using a bank that wasn’t in my state but when it came time to sign papers, a lawyer came right to my house and I signed them in the comfort of my own home. I've been seeing a lot of great reviews from this bank and it seems like I am just one of the unlucky ones that got poor service. I requested a mortgage loan from this bank, at first they were kind of helpful but somehow it fell through because the communication between the lending agent wasn't there. I reached out to the agent many times through emails and phone calls, but no response. Yet, somehow when I requested a withdrawal for my application I got a response in less than 15 minutes confirming my request. Apparently they don't want my business or to have to do anything with me. So it is a 1 star for me. Would have been a 0 if I could but I give it a 1 for them picking up their phone a few times.

The union bank went above and beyond. My credit scores were not the best, but Darren Patten still worked with me and helped me refinance my home. He did exactly as he promised and today I can breathe some relief as all my creditors are paid off.
