The Southern Credit Union E Lanier Ave, Fayetteville

My experience in refinancing my home went smoothly. I did have to deal with all the outages due to Omicron, but everyone I talked with was professional and helpful. My main goal was to get my house financed with a lender that did NOT sell my mortgage (I did have to clarify, but they will not sell it) and to deal with people I know and trust. In the world today, personal relationships are secondary to saving or making a buck. In my experience over the years with them, I have enjoyed feeling like it was a "hometown" credit union.

Recently we had to get a Member Services Representative to help with documents for a real estate transaction. Jameson Parker at the Fayetteville Branch was very helpful in preparing what we needed. He also had to get more information with a short notice. Excellent customer servic!

Never open when it’s convenient for customers. Can’t get anyone to answer calls during non business hours, so if something goes on with your account over night or over the weekend you’re basically screwed. Attempt to email someone and they tell you to call and when you finally get a hold of someone they tell you to email.

TSCU is always there to help and support. It is a joy to do business with them. Many folks there have become close friends!! What other financial institution can you say that about?

I’ve banked here since 1990. Every transaction is always smooth, including loans. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and the tellers at the Fayetteville branch are the BEST. They are helpful and really get to know the customers. I even received a sympathy card from Connie after my husband died. She had gotten to know him and his blue Toyota Tacoma in the drive-thru. I always recommend The Southern Credit Union to friends and family.

First Class Outfit! James and his team in the mortgage department at The Southern were responsive, friendly and patient. They took a lot of stress out of buying a new home they answered all my questions I had in a way that i could understand. And got me a great loan with incredible terms. Keep up the good work guys!

Visited about a month ago to inquire about opening a savings account for my son. I was told what credit score I needed, and that my current score was acceptable. Returned weeks later to make a deposit and was turned away after a "soft credit pull" because my score wasn't 40 points higher than what they quoted as requirement. They referred me to Navy Federal. The problem I have is suddenly I'm getting scam and phishing calls to my home; they are the only financial institution I gave that number out to in years! Did they sell my information???? If you're young and black trying to build credit just go to United Bank.
