Kathleen Gentile at The Federal Savings Bank was one of the best people I have had the pleasure of working with. She is incredibly professional, communicative, and helpful. As a first time home buyer, i have heard a lot of dreary stories in regards to the Home buying process but Yvette Garcia and her team at the Federal Savings Bank, made the process so smooth it was fantastic! She broke down all the terms/contracts so an elementary student can understand and I felt she had our best interest at heart, from start to finish. Even the closing process was such a breeze! 10/10

I had a great experience with Yvette Garcia and her team of experts. She knows what's she's doing! It took time and many requested documents, they are meticulous especially since I am self employed. She made it work and truly was a big help to me and my family.

Never doing business with this corrupt lender again. I was offered a refinance and the mortgage advisor assured me it was good to go. The lender insisted on charging me an appraisal before doing their due diligence to make sure all of the right questions were asked and even gave me the “don’t worry you qualify”, I trusted them and made the payment. The lender provided little to no updates during weeks of the loan processing and when I demanded an update I was told that I do not qualify because I was deployed overseas in Afghanistan (which they were well aware) and now they keep that large appraisal charge they refuse to refund me adding to the already excessive stress I’m currently enduring right now. Never trusting this corrupt lender again and on top of it all, I did not know deployed Veterans did not qualify for a refinance.

Mario Mendoza was such a great help in the loan process. I have already recommended some friends and family to work with him, and will continue to do so. My previous experience with trying to get a home loan was plain awful, I was working with Veterans United and they were all over the place. Their customer service and communication was a horrible experience. Working with Mario, he answered all questions I had and was available a phone call away. The process did take a bit longer than I expected but that was due to a few obstacles we had to address before the refinance could close. Peter was determined to find a path forward and did. This is the second transaction I have done with Brian and both times it has been a pleasure working with him. The previous transaction was at a different bank, but Brian kept in touch with my Realtor. When I was looking to refinance and the current Mortgage company (Wells Fargo) was not able to provide me with competitive pricing, and I checked with my Realtor to see if she knew of anyone, Brian was the first she thought of. I had a great previous experience with Brian, so I was very open to reaching out to him to see what type of rates he could offer for my situation. The thing I like best about Brian is that he is very honest and straightforward. I let him know what my goals for the refinance were and he was able to tell me if he could meet those goals. There were a few glitches with the Support team, but part of this I think had to do with the initial application process and the portal where I was able to upload and complete documents. It would have been very helpful to have a Comments functionality in both of these locations so that my additional comments would have made it to both Brian and the Support group.Having said this, one of the other things Brian is great about is taking feedback and implementing it going forward. I am sure that some of the things I brought up have already been addressed.

A first time home buyer, the team at The Federal Savings Bank made this complicated process very simple by keeping everything step-by-step. Gathering the required documents was a challenge, but I felt prepared because I was kept informed. I even had to last minute amend my taxes and we pulled together to get that done. Jose and his team were amazing!! As a first time home buyer I had in mind loan portion of buying a home was going to be the most complicated and let me tell you it was my favorite part. Jose makes sure my fiancé and I understood all the numbers. Jose also made himself available for ANY questions. I am so glad we got referred to Jose.

I worked at this company for a year and one of their last acts before letting me go was stealing the last loan I did. Not to mention the fact that they have multitudes of lawsuits against them from doing illegal acts on loans and being heavily audited by OCC. I would stay as far as possible from this company. They will charge you unnecessary points and raise the closing costs. Go to an actual bank- not just in name only.

I dont often write reviews, but my absolutely abysmal experience with this business warranted one. Please, do yourself a favor and find some other lender as these people don't care and clearly don't know what they're doing. The representative we worked with told us several times that all of our funds were good to use for our down payment. Well, the closer we get to closing and they start ignoring my questions about ensuring all of our funds are good to use. Turns out once we get the Closing Statement we cant use half our funds because necessary paperwork wasn't filled out that our lender told us on several occasions we didn't need. Now a month down the line, this company sells our mortgage which we expected. However, they didn't transfer over my first payment after saying they would and now I'm receiving emails from our new lender that I have a late fee because my payment wasn't received. I am so furious with the abysmal work done by the employees here especially when it comes to important matters like money and mortgages. I wish I could rate negative stars.

Martha was great throughout the entire process. Her communication with me was great, she was very helpful and answered all my questions. As a first time home buyer I came into this very nervous and didn’t really know what to expect. Alan Hardesty was great the entire time throughout this process. We had a somewhat tricky situation and he always communicated everything and was available to discuss any questions whenever I needed. He gave us options and we were able to navigate through this process with ease. Any time we would receive documents to sign, he called us to discuss and explain what we were signing. When we went to closing, I already knew everything I was signing thanks to the great detail that Alan went into with us. He was wonderful to work with and is incredibly kind and professional. Just refinanced my home with them. Should have looked at google reviews first. The mortgage broker Richard krauss says he's a vet just like me. Will be there through the whole process. Have had nothing but trouble and now has completely ghosted and won't return any calls him or his assistant Sandra. They shorted the payment to my previous lender than took the money without permission from my escrow account to pay the shortage that was supposed to pay my insurance. Insurance is about to lapse and they are blaming previous lender even though they charged me an extra 2444.77 to pay my insurance for the year. Which is on my closing agreement. I was supposed to get my old escrow back which I doubt I'm going to get. If you call they give you the runaround until they blame the settlement agent which you can't get ahold of. TIMOS is the title company they are the worst don't work with them and don't work with this bank.

I want to note the outstanding customer service we received from our banker, Yvette García-Metoyer. To say she went above and beyond is an understatement. Yvette was always a phone call away no matter if it was after hours or during the weekend on her personal time. This was my first time purchasing a home and had thousands of questions. No matter how crazy my questions were and no matter how many times my home buying situation changed: Yvette was patient, attentive and always answered my questions thoroughly for me to understand. I won’t hesitate to use Yvette as my banker for my future mortgage needs and will refer her to all of my friends and family members. Total scam. I applied in January so I used my 2019 tax returns for proof of income since I haven’t done my 2020 returns yet. Brian Roman told me everything looks good and to pay the $219 application fee. Then the delays started happening. It was delayed so long then they wanted my 2020 returns. I gave that to them in May and then he tells that I don’t qualify anymore. My income was lowered because of COVID. Shouldn’t he have known most people income will drop in 2020? Anyways, the application fee is non refundable. Total scam to collect application fee. Don’t trust them. My credit score is over 800 and I was trying to refi to lower interest rate.

We have been trying to work with Sam Margoles and Melissa Guerrero for almost a month now. The amount of documents they have asked for that are not on their website has been ridiculous. We would ask for information to be corrected in documents and it never was updated. I had to ask the same questions several times before I would get an answer. More importantly Sam is the most unprofessional person I have ever experienced in business. When we told them we would not longer want to work with them, he made no attempt at a resolution. Which further more proves the claims that this company is a scam to scam veterans out of money. Run as fast as you can from them and do not even start working with them.

A Vice President told me there was a multi-unit lending option available. The company pulled my credit and had me upload supporting documents for a loan. After my credit was pulled I was told the bank did not support loans for multi-units. This could have been communicated before my credit was impacted. Did not meet customer service expectations.
