Synovus Bank Baytree Rd, Valdosta

I was very unhappy with the bank I was using and looking to make a change. Coincidentally, I received a mailer offering an incentive to open a new checking account. I was very fortunate to have taken advantage of their offer. As soon as I walked in I was greeted warmly and helped within just a few short minutes. Everyone I dealt with was wonderful, as has been the case with everyone there I've dealt with at the location near my home since. This location is just down the street from me, and to several other locations all over town. I'm very happy with my choice to switch to Synovus. I expect to use them for my banking needs for many years to come

Monday I went to the atm at my bank (FIRST STATE -ON BAYTREE. ) I printed my balance and then proceeded to withdraw $200. But the money never came out. So I went inside and explained what happened. The bank teller told me that she would submit a 'work order' for the Atm to be fixed and handed me my $200 , and told me the original $200 would be refunded within 24 hours. So technically thats a whopping $400 all in one day taken from my account- AT CHRISTMAS!!!....That was Monday. Today is Wednesday and I still do not have my money, so a visit to the bank was in order to see what was going on. NOW they tell us that we supposedly had to wait 24 hours AFTER THE ATM WORK ORDER had been placed so that I could 'submit a dispute ' about my money. So now it may take a week for my account to be credited. I would like to know how this is constitutional to keep my money , when clearly the bank is at fault?!
