Summit Homes at Manor at Stoney Creek Reviews

Finding the Villas of Woodside Ridge by Summit Homes has been a game changer for me and my family! This well-designed community, site plan and the Personal Builder team model used by Summit Homes made purchasing a new home exciting and smooth! I have had previous new homes built but not with Summit Homes. This was the best experience for me even during a pandemic! A great community with friendly neighbors and beautifully valued homes!
Thanks for the 5 stars, Janet! We're thankful you chose us to build your new home and that you had a great experience. Enjoy your beautiful home!

Summit Homes is the worst builder. They are not willing to take action for their mistakes. If you plan to buy a Summit Home, make sure you purchase a Home Warranty because you are going to need it!

Overall we had a very positive experience buying our new home from Summit Homes and having Dustin as our builder. Before we ever met him for walkthroughs, etc. he provided a personal bio on his background and called to get to know us. It definitely provided a nice personal touch right off the bat which is really nice considering the size of Summit and the fact that they're owned by BRK. You could wonder if they become more 'transactional,' just due to their size, but it did not feel at all like we were working with a huge company. They were very flexible with our close date as we were trying to sell and move out of our old house. Dustin was always on time and responsive via phone calls/text messages. Our walkthrough of the home with Dustin was very thorough in terms of making sure all of the doors/faucets functioned properly, placed 'how to stickers' on the heater/water heater/sprinkler system/etc., and walked through how to work each component. We definitely love our home and the neighborhood. We looked at a lot of similarly priced new homes in our search, and the quality that comes with a Summit home is definitely noticeable. We love our home! If we had it to do all over again, I would buy from Summit again. My only two potential 'constructive' feedback items had to do with the walkthroughs that we did. The tone was set that for the most part they will only fix the things required by the building manual, that they have people who nitpick going through walkthroughs and that's not appreciated by them, etc. It left me feeling more like I better not ask for too many things to get corrected rather than truly feeling like they were open and wanting us to dialogue on anything we see because they want us to feel comfortable taking possession of our new home, etc. If I had it to do all over again, I'd feel more bold to ask to fix certain things, even if it wasn't 'encouraged.' When we came back for our final walkthrough to make sure everything that was marked got fixed, there were a couple of items that still hadn't gotten fixed. There was also a floorboard in the middle of the living room that they had tried to just glue down rather than replacing. Once I mentioned that it still didn't look right, they said "oh yeah, we tried to glue it, but it looks like we'll have to get someone out to replace it." They replaced it no problem the same day. I wouldn't have had a problem with them trying the 'easier' fix first if they had at least called it out and made sure I knew they'd fix it right if it didn't work. But the fact that it was only brought up once I noticed it made me wonder if they would've told me at all and if were other things around the house that were fixed the same way. Overall, those comments wouldn't change our mind in any way about Summit/Dustin - I would imagine any company you buy from has similar things. We love our home!

I assisted my clients with the purchase of their beautiful spec home in the Reserve at Stoney Creek. Dustin and Kristiena were both wonderful to work and we closed on the house less than 30 days! I would recommend Summit Homes to all my clients! Thanks, Dedra Nickell

The woman we met with was so nice!!!! It just sucks we can't afford to move here cause you don't meet many people in offices that nice! The office looked and felt amazing , So I can only imagine what the homes look like.. sheesh! If the prices ever go down this will be our first go to.

We recently bought a model home in the Stoney creek manor neighborhood. We worked with Dustin on our final walkthrough and were very pleased with his responsiveness and professionalism. He is very easy going and honest every step of the way. We had a few minor things that we noticed after moving in and he was right there to help us out and get the issues fixed in a timely manner. Also during our meeting with him he brought stickers for the furnace, humidifier and everything we may need help knowing how to work in the future and put by everything they belong too that explains how to work them, and I thought that was extremely helpful!

We enjoy our home but lots of things could change. You have to have flat paint, which is terrible and shows everything. One year in and we need the full interior home repainted. They want to keep things consistent unless you do who knows what, then you can have black walls, a higher quality paint and drywall job and so many other options that don't match anything else in the neighborhood. Drainage issues in back yard as a final grade was never done and now water stands for days. Grass not growing? It's because they didn't remove the rocks, 2x4s or plastic from the dirt before they laid sod. Summit hires every job out and they don't fully monitor the quality of work that is being done. They are in it to build homes, and hurry up and get out and move onto the next one. We love our home but you need to be careful.
