We used Stephens Automotive for repairs on my work/kid errand car which happens to be a little red 2009 Cadillac. We purchased it from family and it has never run right- engine light came on within a couple of weeks of owning it :( Long story short, Stephens Automotive was honest from the beginning with no "surprise charges", we got the car back within a couple of days, and it drives like a dream! These people are very nice to work with and we are thankful to have given them our business! Thank you Stephens Automotive!

The staff at Stephens Automotive was very friendly and accommodating. They were able to get my car in within a week. They diagnosed the problem with my transmission and explained it in terms I could understand. Ultimately my car needed some additional work, and they were able to provide an excellent referral! Grateful for their service.

Great experience buying my pickup through Jeff. They were waiting at the airport to pick me up when I flew in from out of state. The pickup was exactly as he had described to me over the phone. Had one slight issue with the compass, they looked into it immediately and took care of it with no questions asked. I will definitely be a returning customer.

I called Stephens Automotive Service after a transmission leak was found during an oil change. They were able to get me in 2 days later! The morning of the service they called with an estimate. By 3 pm, they called that my car was ready and come in under estimate! Great service and very easy to work with!!

I just started going to Stephens Automotive a few weeks ago. Debby and Jeff customer service is top notch! With the benefit of being sales and service I was offered a loaner vehicle while mine was in the shop. I have not experience this anywhere else in Iowa! Stephens Automotive your my new best friend!

Our AC clutch was doing the bad. Like the "oh no, gotta fix soon or it will rip apart your engine eventually bad". So we scheduled a fix, which was very easy to do over the phone. And like a dog who's scared cause it knows you're taking it to the vet, our car crapped all over its self the day before by breaking the passenger seat belt. When dropping the car off it was no problem to also add "hey my car is falling apart in another way care to take a look?" So thats nice. The not so nice part is the price. 1400$ for the ac problem. Now I say this with a caveat, Stephen's in on par with many other repair places so it was reasonable. I did notice that other reviews mention a 1400$ price, so maybe Stephens also just really likes 1400 as a number. Regardless they got the car fixed up the next day and I dont have to worry about the ac and thats the best. Its also cool that they have loaner cars.

Debbie was able to schedule me for my oil change and more only a few days out and got me in and out WITH a loaner vehicle the morning of my appointment! I will definitely use Stephens Automotive again!!

My wife and I bought a 2010 Honda Odyssey from Stephens Automotive, and we were impressed by the professionalism and service here. Jeff got us going on a test drive, helped us with financing, and we were all done before lunch! Stephens Automotive is a great family business who deserves your patronage. My experience with Stephen’s was great from the beginning. Called Thursday for an appointment and they got me in first thing Friday morning. Great customer service from everyone I spoke with. I took my 2008 Silverado to Stephens Auto Repair to get a cooling issue repaired as it was running about 230 degrees in town but would stay at 210 degrees when on the highway. I had this truck at another shop the prior week for this same problem and they had put two different new water pumps, a new radiator, a new thermostat and a new heat sensor on it and it still had the cooling problem so I thought I would give Stephens Auto Repair shot a fixing this problem. I stopped by the shop and talked with Jeff and explained the history of my problem with the truck and scheduled it to get repaired the following day. The next day I got a call from Jeff and he said they had not found what was causing the problem and said they thought it needed a new water pump and radiator. I discussed with him again the repairs that had already been done and both the water pump and radiator had just been replaced. After our discussion I decided, my mistake, to let them put another new water pump on the truck but not another radiator. When I stopped by Stephens Repair the next day I was told another new water pump did not solve the over heating problem. I told Jeff I was not spending any more money there and paid my $1100 bill and drove off with the same problem I had when I dropped it off at Stephens Auto Repair.

We take our cars to Stephens because we can count on them to take care of us - and trust them to do what's needed. And it's a plus that they're nice people.

I bought a good vehicle at a good value! Jeff was both personable and professional. He not only stayed late to complete the purchase, but prior to that, he drove across town to pick me up from another dealership. You can tell this family business knows vehicles and treats their customers well!

Vehicle purchasing experience: Pleasant surprise to do business with a family owner and operator. Jeff and his coworkers were helpful, flexible, and clearly trustworthy experts in their services.

I don't normally like to post such posts, so I will try to keep this short. 1. went for oil change and to look over vehicle 2. was quoted a price of extra repairs and I ok'd the work 3. shop called me 2 hours later (work not started yet) with another price for more "wrong" with vehicle - I said no, told him to put my car back together I will drive it elsewhere and will pay him for the services completed 4. Jeff refused to give me back my vehicle. HE REFUSED. He made up some excuse about being sued if I crashed it within one mile of driving it off lot. I said I would sign a release of liability, which I have done many other places, and my insurance would be liable as it always is. Keep in mind, my car was drivable. I drove it to the shop, have not had issues with it at all. I just went for a routine oil change. Here is the messed up part. He refused to give me my vehicle. I had to call the police to which they were unable to assist because it was a civil matter of him not letting me have MY CAR BACK. Jeff said I could finance the work through a company "he knew of" if I couldn't afford it or I had to tow it. I was 15 minutes shy late of picking up my child from daycare before they closed because he MADE ME TOW IT. I had to leave work early, I had to scramble around trying to find a tow I could afford, and I had to pay for a tow for literally 1 mile down the road to another repair shop. I told him 3x to put MY car back together the way it was when I dropped it off, I would PAY him for services completed, and he REFUSED me THREE TIMES. He treated me like I was a child, like he was looking out for me. No, he refused to give me my car. That is attempted theft. The police have never heard of such a shady scam to try to get me to finance the extra work nor allowing me the KEYS TO MY VEHICLE. Bottom line, I would not get work done here. There is a shop down the street called Orlando's. Go there for half the price and half of the "work" needing to be completed. I have never been so upset in my life and the police couldn't even help me with the attempted theft.

My car broke 3 of 5 wheel studs driving to Johnston. I emailed Stephen's Auto Repair last night. This morning, I was called, bright and early by Deb. She got me set up in no time. I had my car towed there, repaired, and even received transport to my repaired vehicle. This all happened in one day and for less than $300. That includes, tow, parts, and labor. Amazing!

This is what buying a car should be like. I remembered Jeff from several years ago as being easy to work with and our experience buying a car today reaffirmed why we came back. Jeff is a genuine person, low pressure, and makes the buying process just so easy. Plus, it's a great car at a great price. Found a car on this lot by accident. Knew it was one I might be interested in. Called Jeff and then when directly to the lot. I was greeted very quickly and friendly. Offed the keys and was told to drive the car to check it out. After a test drive I still wasn’t sure I wanted to purchase the car. After looking through the car fax and talking to Jeff I did decide to buy. All I can say is that this was a very pleasant buying experience. My wife and I felt welcome and treated with respect. This is a class A dealer. I’m very happy with my purchase and the customer service. No pressure. Very relaxed atmosphere.

I had some flushes done and filters replaced on my vehicle and Stephens Automotive worked with me on the cost. They were very informative and had my car back to me the same day, and provided a loaner vehicle while they had mine. I would recommend Stephens Automotive for auto repairs.

Had a oil change and some brake lines replaced. They did exactly what I wanted. Jeff is incredibly easy to deal with. Estimates are incredibly hard to give when dealing with car repairs, but he was able to give me a accurate one. EDIT: Honestly, even if you were concerned about taking your car in, I would call and talk to them. They are very honest and straight forward. Just remember its a business and skilled labor is not free.

This was my second visit to Stephens and I have been very happy with their quality work and reasonable prices. They are very professional, friendly, and, most importantly, trustworthy. They got me scheduled in quickly. And I so appreciate the loaner car, which makes the day much easier. Totally impressed with this place!

Was looking for a lightly used truck, found one at Stephens, basically a new truck for being a '15. Jeff was not the "typical salesman" he let me look over the truck without being RIGHT THERE. Hands down the best used vehicle buying experience to date! This F-550 was purchased from Jeff and his team to be used as a company truck for our maintenance department. I drove over 3 hours from Kansas City in nasty winter weather to pick this up and arrived to have all expectations exceeded. The condition of this truck was far better than I what I was prepared to find. Jeff was extremely responsive to any request I made via phone or email and the paperwork process could not have gone smoother. My team is ecstatic to have a new (to us) truck and I am certainly a satisfied customer. My only complaint is that his dealership is 200+ miles from me!

It was my first time going to Stephens responding to a mailer that they sent out. I was with trepidation looking for a new auto service place since my Honda dealership tried to scam me big time my last time there, so I swore off them. I was VERY pleased with the whole process and fair price at Stephens. From my very first walk in and taking my car, to car loaner, to calling me to discuss what they felt needed to be done to the car, to getting it all done in a timely fashion, and fair price. It was such a pleasant relief to find someone who I will go back to when I need them.

We were looking for a new car for our daughter, we stopped by Stephen's on a Sunday and walked through the lot to see what they had, and picked a few cars to look at when they were open. My husband and daughter returned a few days later and test drove several, Jeff was awesome and discussed several financing options with them and answered all their questions. After visiting several car lots and dealing with lots of different dealers (more than once no one even came out to greet us and see what we were looking for). We went back to Stephen's where they seemed to have a great selection of vehicles at very competitive prices, picked exactly what we wanted and were on our way. No 3 hour wait on paperwork, no hassles and Jeff was awesome to work with. The sunroof malfunctioned the next day, they let our daughter bring it in right away, and they had the car in and fixed in less than 20 minutes. I will definitely go back for my next car and recommend them to anyone!!
