Sierra Central Credit Union N Sunrise Ave, Roseville

This is the worst banking institution we’ve ever dealt with. We do not recommend this credit union to anyone. It is not surprising to see the low ratings posted on its reviews. I’d give them a negative star if it was possible. Do yourself a favor and don’t bank with this credit union.

I haven't had any problems with the bank itself, but the customer service associates are HORRIBLE!! If I could I would give the customer service at Sierra Central negative zero stars for their unprofessionalism and rudeness. Roberta (customer service associate) and Theresa (Yuba City Headquarters/Asset recovery associate) are the definition of unprofessionalism, poor phone etiquette, and unacceptable customer service. I reached out to get some information regarding MY account, Roberta and Theresa both expressed attitudes towards me as if I was irritating them for wanting information and clarity about MY account. When I called back after having the phone hung up in my face by Theresa, who seemed irritated at the fact that I had told her that my car payment was already made, and asked to speak with a supervisor or someone in a high position, Theresa badgered me for several seconds about what my reason for needing a supervisor was for. She informed me that her supervisor was out of the office and that she could transfer me to their voicemail. I let her know that would be great, Theresa immediately tried to change the tone in her voice, and disregard the fact that she had any ill manners when previously speaking with me and that she was simply asking a question. I acknowledged that she was indeed asking questions, but the tone and her delivery was unwelcoming, unprofessional, dismissive, and demanding. I did not appreciate being called and spoken to in that manner. I also let Theresa know that my complaint was directed towards her and her poor customer service as she tried to rush through the conversation and transfer me to the supervisors voicemail, which by the way never happen, due to Theresa hanging up in my face for the second time after I expressed to her how her tone came off and the perception that it created of her from my perspective. Theresa and Roberta obviously do not like the jobs they applied for and that is clearly expressed in their tones. Whether they recognize it or care, Theresa and Roberta are hurting this business. I have been a member for over 3 years and have nothing but exceptional customer service from other associates (Juan, Jessica). I trust that this is not the way that Sierra Central does business, as and that you will mention my concern of there being a lack of professionalism, welcoming and engaging phone etiquette with customer service associates in the wider company, but especially with Theresa and Roberta who need to trained in professionalism, regarding this incident.

I applied for a loan. I have excellent credit. I got run around in circles for 4 months because the people at this branch are too busy with personal issues to help or call back customers. I finally contacted another lender and got a loan financed in 3weeks at a better intrest rate. The happiest day of my life was when I went in and closed my savings account with Sierra Central.

I have had two loans through SCCU without any issues. They have some of the best programs and rates and the people at the Roseville branch were all nice and very accommodating to me. I've paid off those loans and they maintain my savings account with less than $50 in it. I will use them again.

By far one of the best Credit Unions to do business with. All the people are really nice and quick. I love that they have many branches, but this branch is the closest to me, so I’m leaving a review here. I do business with them via CUDL for auto loans. Their auto loan rates are very low. They are flexible on LTV ratios. Their stipulation are simple. They fund quickly. Just a great Credit Union. Thank you Sierra Central!

Absolutely useless. Do not open an account here. Overdraft protection policy is a scam and a racket. I've banked with another institution for almost 20years and never had a problem like this and I was told by management with Sierra Central I need to learn how to manage my accounts better. This is the most unprofessional buisiness relationship I've ever encountered. Bridget in back office does a terrible job at customer service. This account will be closed. Avoid this institution like the plague.

Would give less stars if I could, financed a trailer through them 8 months ago and it has been the worst experience and customer service I've ever dealt with. We waited almost an hour to be helped when we already had an appointment scheduled, we were charged a $600 fee for not having the Bank's name listed on our insurance, we've had a late fee even though we made the payment early (they increased the monthly premium without notifying us), and the employees on the phone genuinely have zero concern for their customer's issues. Stay away if you like good customer service.

I’m not surprised to see all 1 star reviews. I bought a car through VW and they obtained my financing through this place. I have my first payment due, I have not received anything from them other than a statement with the account number blocked out. “Customer service” can’t give me my account number so I can sign up online. It’s on the payment coupons that I didn’t get! So I ask to pay on the phone. $8 fee. No thanks. I think I’ll just refinance the loan somewhere that will let me just make my payment without jumping through hoops. Customer service didn’t understand that I didn’t get the coupons and said she couldn’t do anything. Well then, neither can I! Can’t pay on a loan if you refuse to give me my account number. Idiots.

Never again, got a loan through them and a checking account... always charges and fees on checking when there shouldn't be any. Did an online bill pay but it took too long, I cancelled it through boca and call Sierra per their instructions, even though I paid loan payment cash, they're still going to charge me for bad check even though I called days before check arrives and payment paid cash. Frustrating af this company is. The local staff is nice but there is always issues. NEVER AGAIN.
