I bought a truck from them in February, when I test drove the truck my wife noticed that it had rust on the corner of the cab, the salesman and manager assured me they would repair the rust to my approval, if I bought the truck. They even gave me a we- owe that said they would repair the rust at their cost. After waiting two weeks for the service manager to call me, I called him and he informed me that all they planned on doing was put a plastic corner on to cover up the rust, that is not what I was told at signing. After three calls to the manager and leaving messages he never called me back. After trying for two months and getting nowhere I realized that I was ripped off so I had someone else repair the rust correctly. After the truck was fixed at my cost and my third call to the corporate office, the manager finally called me and lied at I had called and said I didn't want anyone to call me because I was getting it fixed elsewhere. I would never buy I bother vehicle from them again won't even trust them to change my oil.

I have never had one bad experience the 8 years I have been taking my car there. They are great and try to save me money. I only trust them with my car. Update: I am taking my 5 star rating back. Because I am a women and don't know much about cars. They were trying to take advantage of that and rip me off. Who knows how many times. Going else where. My car is unsafe to drive and they can't seem to figure out why and I have to keep coming back with the same issue. They just keep telling me maybe it's this. This time around they want me to spend $1500 dollars. Which I don't have. Most of that is labor. If it wasn't for my family and friends telling me to get a second opinion somewhere else and telling me something is not right. I would have sadly continued getting ripped off. Money is tight for a lot of people not just your business. I already spent almost $1000 on repairs a couple months ago and you said that was going to fix my issue. I have had my car for 8 years so I know when there is something not right with my car. I am not about to risk my life or others and can't afford to keep fixing stuff that doesn't need to be fixed or not fix the problem with my car.

I purchased a car from the team at Russ Darrow Appleton last month. I was pressured into purchasing sooner than I wanted and then was pressured into purchasing $5,000 of warranty's without time to read through the paperwork. I also requested that my financing go directly to my credit union and NOT ran through their list of debtors. Turns out my application information was sent to at least 2 other creditors besides my Credit Union. And to top it all off, I bought the car on December 2nd 2021 and the check engine light came on on January 6th 2022. When I asked if they would charge me to service it they said I might have to pay $130 if the warranty doesn't cover the replacement component. Overall very disappointed.
Cameo, sorry to hear about this, we will have the service department reach out to you, sometimes in this cold weather we are having, 10 below zero, it will cause cars to act up and make lights turn on.

Service personnel were great, but when we purchased the car we asked that, before we took it home, to fix a couple of things, which they said they would. A week later, we went to pick up the car, and none of the things they said they would fix were fixed. Turned out , one of the items had to be replaced and couldn’t be fixed. If I wanted it replaced I had to pay $95 labor to have it installed. I think when a company says they will fix something, as part of a purchase agreement, they should fix it, free of charge.

Sorry to see this Jerry, as you know, part of this was complications from the high wind storms, not getting the key to the other dealership in a timely manner and then the extra money you had to pay for having smoked in a non-smoking rental vehicle. We worked within the limits of what we had, but you could have saved a few hundred dollars on this one, by adhering to the rental agreement. But we will work on our process to improve future customer interaction.

Since 2018, I’ve been servicing my car exclusively at Russ Darrow on College Avenue. Every single experience I’ve had thus far has been utterly positive. Every service person and staff member I’ve spoken with has been professional and very kind. When I go there, I feel very comfortable because I feel they are trustworthy. Highly recommend.

Just bought a 2018 Ram 1500 a couple days ago Working with Mark made it all go really smooth. He was very knowledgeable and just easy to talk to. No pressure at all. Also got more for my trade in then originally thought id get. Definitely my best truck buying experience I've had.

There for a routine oil change. Roll in (with no appointment necessary,) and hop out. 2 minutes later in the customer lounge enjoying a complimentary beverage from the mini cooler. Of course me being a man of nostalgia I grabbed a Capri Sun. 35 minutes later car was done with a fresh wash. The wash isn't the greatest, but hey it's complimentary as well!

My car had to come in due an accident I was involved in and insurance was involved as well. Between all 3 parties everything went extremely smooth! I did not have rental car coverage under my insurance so renting a car was not really ideal or affordable in my situation. They were able to help me out with a reliable loaner car at no extra cost aside from filling the tank back up. I am extremely impressed with the work they have done and how great Eric in Service and Tony in Collision were to work with! I should also mention this is my second vehicle I have bought from them and Gafa is an amazing salesman! Always quick to help and checks in regularly. I will continue to work with Russ Darrow in the future for any of my automotive needs!

What can I say, I bought a Jeep Wrangler a year ago from Russ Darrow it’s been nothing but issues with it after a few weeks of owning it. First I’ve had to replace the engine oil cooler, then the front passengers side caliper didn’t work so when I would brake it would steer towards the drivers side had to fix that, now I’m taking it in tomorrow to get looked at again. Sure they made it look pretty enough to get you through the test drive and get it home but after that it’s all your cookie. Unless you got tons of money to throw at your vehicle I wouldn’t recommend buying a vehicle from here.

Sometimes when you purchase a 10 year old 115,000 plus mile vehicle, it may have unforeseen issues even a few weeks after your ownership begins, and then maintaining a 115,000 plus mile vehicle sometimes will require the owner, yourself, to perform ongoing upkeep and maintenance which is what it sounds like may be the case here. We will be sure to let the proper people know about your concerns.

First, I want to say that everyone was very friendly. They were all wearing their masks which made me feel good. They were prompt as well. The guy I worked with was very nice and accommodating. I came in for an oil change and to repair a part a previous service agent said needed repaired. She had told me it was covered under warranty so no biggie. I said ok and set up the appointment when I could. Today, I find out after the work is completed that it was not covered under warranty. I went from thinking I had to pay for the synthetic oil upcharge only to about 400 dollars. The man I worked with today said he was sorry for the confusion and got the cost down to 295. I was upset at first but him trying to make things better made me leave in a better mood.

Went to buy a rav with my mom and boyfriend and the car is great I love it however I found a chip in the windshield and they didn’t do anything about it even when I brought it up. The ‘consumer advocate’ salesman brushed over it when taking to him. I felt like he was rushing me they the process and talked down to me when I asked questions. Talked about covid the entire time which felt unprofessional. If he’s the consumer advocate I’d hate to work with the other guys.

Stopped in late on a Thursday. Roughly an hour before closing. Needed a new vehicle that evening. James, a Sales Specialist on-site in Appleton, took me around the lot and let me see the best suited selections. He provided a nice narrative to the vehicle I was interested in pursuing, and paired it with a test drive. James and staff stayed late & were able to get me taken care of that same evening. If your car needs service, take it here. Don't take it anywhere else. The service team is very honest and very knowledgeable. Other shops will do their best to shoo you out the door as fast as possible, but Russ Darrow will take the time to make sure you're taken care of. Also there's no appointments here so oftentimes they can get you taken care of right away. They even offer a shuttle service to and from the mall so you can shop while you wait.

Tony from the collision center has been nothing but great. He helped me with every issue I had with my car and has had the best costumer service skills I’ve seen. He didn’t hesitate to put a battery in my keys when asking where I could purchase one or replace a missing hubcap after 5 weeks of fixing my vehicle. Love these guys. Went in to replace my vehicle. Found such good cars and good deals, hubby bought one too! Cal was excellent and helped us through the sales process which was quite easy. We also took advantage of their maintenance care package, which makes regularly servicing my vehicle a breeze. Happy all the way around!

First of all, amazing customer service. Personally my car knowledge is pretty limited and they were quick and thorough with any and all questions I had! Helped me by asking what I was looking for and my budget and showed me what would work for me. Big purchases like cars are intimidating and scary but they talked me though everything and even let me sleep on it and come back the next day without pressuring me into a purchase right away. Very personal, and knowledgeable!

We purchased a Toyota Sienna from Russ Darrow back in December 2017 and are very happy with the vehicle. It was fine dealing with the salesman, John Huettl, but the entire process took quite a few hours to work through. We met with Guy James for the financing and during that time he went out of his way to sell the Zurich coverage plan and all the benefits it could provide, including a key replacement since the sale of the van only included one smart key for our use. After 2 and 1/2 years of guarding that key like it was gold, I called Zurich today because I needed a replacement. They informed me that because I was not given 2 keys at the time of purchase that I needed to contact our dealer for replacement, specifically the finance manager, because it was "a breach of contract." I first spoke to Heather who transferred me to Guy. His initial response was "are you sure you only got 1 key?" I was completely taken aback; both offended and infuriated by his question. After I assured him that we only received 1 key, he took my name and number and said he would call me back. I did receive a call back soon after, only for a song and dance about how his "key guy" is not making any calls due to the pandemic. Guy would be sure to call me back (if I wanted) once they started making keys again because "no key guys all over the country are making keys right now." And I am supposed to not drive my vehicle in the meantime?? Just ridiculous and a complete scam. DO NOT BUY ANY ADDITIONAL COVERAGE!! And if at all possible, do not work with Guy James. On a side note, I called our local hardware store and the battery shop for key quotes and they are up and running and making keys ... so apparently there are "key guys" out there that are working. (Essential business, right?!) At least we were smart enough to never go back for any "free" oil changes or car washes, etc. (We use our local mechanic in Oshkosh and would never take our vehicles anywhere else.)

I came in to get an oil change and when I got to the service garage everyone appeared to be wearing masks. I left my car with them and when I went into the waiting area, I was blown away by the complete lack of masks. There were about 3 total employees wearing masks, but the majority were not. Does a pandemic mean nothing to you? I have never felt so uncomfortable in a business and am saddened to see the lack of concern for the people who are making you money. I would rather pay for my oil change elsewhere where they care about covid precautions than get my free oil change here where they put me at risk. So disappointed.

Unfortunately the 3rd time I’ve had to bring my truck in to them. No fault of theirs, my truck is 14 years old and things break down. Service department was courteous and helpful throughout. All the work they’ve done has held up well. Clint did an excellent job shuttling me to and from the dealership and my house while they did the work.

We had a wonderful experience. My mom had never purchased a car herself, as my dad always took care of it. Since his death she has been intimated to go and shop alone. Joe Hawley was wonderful and helped her through it. He was extremely nice, very patient and made her feel so comfortable during the process. She left with her new car glowing and excited. I just bought a car from Russ Darrow, and again I might ad. The Sales process was smooth as usual, they make buying a car fun again. Once in finance the smoothest experience yet, Guy was very helpful explaining the different warranty coverages available. He explained in a way that made complete sense, I always read reviews, if a restaurant, car dealership, whatever the case may be. I don't understand some peoples problems. There will always be that person that no matter what you do will bash you, always the victim, everything is everyone's else fault. The crew at Russ Darrow is the absolute best at what they do. Brought my van in for front brakes. The tech found coolant problems, and brought it to my attention. He fix all of the problems in a very timely manner. Both service writers, Eric and Ben are always truthful to me about what the problems my be. No, surprises! I trust them to do the job right. They both are good at explaining to me anything I don't understand. They both are good at their jobs. In my opinion. Two valuable employees you need working for your company. WARNING WARNING WARNING **********************************Do not ever trust these people********************************they will lie about everything to get a sale. I bought a vehicle here and have spend more than I paid for the vehicle in repairs. They tell you to buy a warranty from Zurich for a lot of money and then do not stand behind their products!!!!! I bought the vehicle and should have know that the salesman was lying to me. The vehicle "allegedly" passed inspection, and was told by the salesman that they would make sure the airbag light was fixed before I picked up the vehicle. Guess what...it was not and now they want 650 dollars to fix the airbags. The vehicle was making terrible noises 2 months after I purchased it. The vehicle had no oil in it. None of the dash warning lights ever warned me of no oil. The vehicle like I said was purchased 2 months before. I checked the oil and sure enough no oil in it. I took it in and they said " I couldn't tell you why no oil light came on but we need to tear this engine down at a cost of 700 dollars so that Zurich....the warranty would put a new engine in. Zurich denied the claim of course after appealing it was still denied stating that it was :wear and tear". I tried to speak with the Dealership Manager but of course only got his voicemail and had other employees call me back. Weak!!!!! He is to afraid to deal with the customers and complaints because he knows that he is selling junk and warranties that mean nothing. Just beware of these tactics. I am in the process of filing a lemon law claim with the State of Wisconsin, as well as going to the DOT for selling the vehicle without airbags working. I am also in the process of filing a Federal DOT claim for inspection fraud, along with filing a lawsuit against this dealership for unfair and deceiving sales practices. Good thing I have them recorded stating these falsehoods about the airbag being fixed before I picked up the vehicle and also about the warranty "covering anything on the power train" which is what the salesman stated. He said that I would never have to worry because Zurich covers "everything", that is why it is worth the cost. All in all never, I REPEAT never purchase any vehicle or warranty from this dealership. Unless you like being cheated, lied to, disrespected, and taken advantage of and spending more that you purchased the vehicle for!!!!!!!!!!!! RUSS DARROW SHOULD BE ASHAMED!!!!!!!!

My sales rep gave me truthful suggestions and assisted me get through the procedure very at a fast rate. He presented the car when he assured at the expense I expected. Was very surprised I was not allowed to take to a mechanic to get the car checked out. I thought, well, It has all the features I want. I'll trust them. 6 months later when I bring it in for service I have almost $1,000 in repairs for leaks and a new battery. Also wasn't detailed like I was promised or a 2nd key fob was never found for me. I had a good experience from service department though.

My car was totaled by a deer hit, and since my original purchase, my credit score and financial situation had somewhat deteriorated. I couldn't get financed for the car I originally wanted even though that dealer tried to make it happen. The credit unions just wouldn't offer me anything...even the CU that financed my totaled car and had over a year of on-time, consistent payment history. But Cal and Russ Darrow made it happen for me, and I'm so pleased and grateful! Cal is a great guy to work with, very down-to-earth and really took care of me. I'm looking forward to working with Russ Darrow in the future on my Kia Soul!

I had a great experience working with Mark Huth in purchasing my new vehicle. He was very informative and made me feel comfortable through the entire process. The only negative thing I have to say about everything is that normally when you purchase a vehicle from a dealership, you drive away with a full tank of gas. We asked about it and were told that dealerships don’t do that anymore. That is not true because we know several people who work at dealerships and this is a standard process. I would think that would be the least you could do for someone buying a car from you. Other than that...a very pleasant experience.

They would have gotten a five but I asked them not to wash my car but they did anyway. I went there right after I went to a full service car wash where they actually dry the car. When Russ Darrow washes the car they do not dry it and it leaves the windows all spotted. They also didn’t shut my hood tightly. This is the first time that I’ve left there annoyed and unhappy with my service.

I have had my car now for 2 and a half years. I have had to do MAJOR fixes every 6 months that cost THOUSANDS of dollars. My dad also got his truck from here, and his engine blew 2 weeks after he bought it. If you plan on buying from them, look elsewhere. It's not worth it. Also, when I told them to hold on my car while I got a loan from the bank, they increase the price the next day by a thousand dollars. I still bought the vehicle, and I really should have looked elsewhere at that point. So disappointing.

In the past, things have been fine. But our most recent experience has really irked me. Our AC stopped working, so we brought it in to be checked out. They said they wanted to do a recharge and add dye to see if there was a leak. That it would be $160. I ok'd that . They said they found a coil that was leaking. And the part that was needed wouldn't be in until the next day. So she said my total would be $225. I said I thought it was $160. And she informed me there was a diagnostic charge of $65. Most shops waive that charge if you have the work done with them. And I asked her as much but she said no they don't. She then proceeded to tell me that the fix the next day would be $310. So I said "together we're looking at like $550?" She said after taxes probably around there. Well the next day we bring the van in. And they start working on it. She called me to tell me they'd need extra time to vacuum out the moisture and it would probably be an extra $80-90. I was not happy, but it is what it is. She then called again a little later to say they got the wrong part, and we're waiting on the correct one, so it would be a little longer. After it was close to being finished, she called and said they wouldn't charge me the extra time she initially said, And that my total was "$665 before tax" I asked how that total came about. She said $225 from the day before and $440 for today. I said you told me $310 yesterday. And she says "she doesn't remember saying that" Come on Russ Darrow. This whole experience has been real frustrating. I ended up paying way more than I thought, and your person communicating is super confusing and information changes. Also... You should really look at your diagnostic charge. Call around. Every other shop ive gone to, waives that charge if work is done with them. I think we will use another shop from now on.

Awesome sales group. I knew exactly what I wanted by looking on the online site. The salesmen didn't try to get me to buy bigger or more expensive. Getting an oil change is super easy drive. Today Tuesday June 4, 2019 I had my baby(2012 VW EOS) serviced at Russ Darrow in Appleton and received the kind of service I deserved! From their very knowledgeable staff, Joe, service manager, Eric and even the cashier treated me with proper respect! They were more then fair in their pricing giving me a great deal plus they pointed out a bulge in my left front tire I would have never saw and put the proper oil which the owners manual calls for. I have brought 3 vehicles from Russ Darrow before had a good experience. I recently purchased a vehicle from them and it is now turning into a nightmare. The vehicle and the sales man are fine the process of financing is the issue. Guy explained we could do bi weekly payments which we were fine with we were also told they would email us before the payments would come out. We talked to the bank that financed the car and they said they didn't do that. So my wife and I figured we would do it ourselves. Then when my wife was looking at our bank account there was another payment from our account, here it was the biweekly payment but not from the bank but a secondary group. We never recieved an email and never was td who would be taking the money. I am really regretting buying my vehicle there now. Be very aware of their finance dept Guy is his name, very shady person.

We do use a third party to facilitate the bi-weekly payment program, and we apologize if they did not communicate in a timely manner as to when/how the payments were going to be made. We always try to do our best to make sure everyone is very informed on all aspects of the car buying process, and it looks like we definitely may have had a problem this time, we will review all of our procedures so as to not have this happen in the future . Went there to get my oil changed and get my tires rotated. The guy said that it will be around $50 which I said it was fine. I ended up staying there for 1 hr and 25 minutes when the guy came back to tell me that my tires were okay and didn’t need to be rotated. The total bill was about $70 for an oil change although the worse part was having to wait so long to get it done and almost being late to work. Never going back again.

Originally I googled "bad credit, no credit dealers" Riss darrow was brought up. I worked with Christine. She was very nice. But this place is a JOKE! I went with the "bad credit, no credit" for a reason! After doing a hard credit pull. They came back with me needing to put down $2,500 aside from trading in my current vehicle. Are you kidding me!? Russ Darrow always gives great explanations when there are additional items that need to be repaired/replaced when going in for an oil change. They don't tell you that something needs maintenance unless it's with in the recommended milage. During my most recent visit, the pointed out I should replace my tires before next winter and even went as far as giving me price quotes (without me asking) on tires that they recommend, so I can plan ahead. Even during busy hours, wait times are still reasonable and not excessive.

I bought my car from Russ Darrow and paid for maintenance ahead of time (coupon book for oil changes and such). I love that I can take my car there any time for a free car wash and I do not have to make an appointment for maintenance care. Ben (manager?) in the shop is an awesome guy, friendly, informational, sincere and takes matters seriously. He and a small handful of the shop maintenance crew (one or two others my wife and I have personally dealt with, there may be a few more) really seem to care about our needs, concerns and seem to want their customers to have a good experience which is great to see. My concern: I took the car in last week for an oil change, then paid an additional $60 for carb cleaning, air filter and a few other things. Was in and out in under 45 minutes which was great! However, when I returned home I walked around my car attempting to loosen some of the snow around the wheels and noticed my gas cap was open. Upon further inspection I found the plastic bottle of carb cleaner still sitting in my gas tank. The tank cover just hanging there by that little plastic cord. I was annoyed but blew it off as mistakes happen to the best of us right? The next morning I noticed a voicemail - the message was from Ben in the shop saying my lug nut key had been found there in the shop (tire rotation). Ben sincerely apologized when my wife picked up the lug nut key and made it clear he would be speaking to the guys in the shop about this type of situation. From Ben's reaction and the look another guy's face (one of the better ones - didn't catch his name) this has happened before. I believe Russ Darrow's maintenance shop is a good place to bring your car if you are lucky enough to get a tech who cares working on your car. Will I bring my car there in the future, yes, but I am more likely to circle the car a time or two before leaving.....

I had a wonderful experience with Russ Darrow a few weeks ago. Brent Weinberger is fantastic: he listened to my needs and worked to get me a great car within my budget. There was no pressure to buy unless I was totally comfortable with the car and the price, and if I expressed any hesitation we talked about other options. My car works well, and I have a great service plan. I'm very happy with Russ Darrow.

I get ready to leave for work on a Monday and my car has a flat tire. Inspection shows that the strut coil had broken and a piece destroyed the tire. Great. AAA takes the car to Russ Darrow Direct in Appleton. Best thing that could have happened. Not only do they really know Kia's, they accelerated the diagnostics required. Expecting to hear in 3 to 4 days what the damage ($$) would be, I was floored to hear from them the next day. While the repair was not cheap, it was much less than I expected. They also did the unthinkable - they arranged a 12 month, INTEREST FREE loan that can be repaid early without any penalty. Russ Darrow certainly has my business in the future. They are GREAT!!!!

Purchased a vehicle two months ago. Discovered that the air doesn’t work. Took it to the dealer, who had marked there was no problem with the vehicle. Spent an hour only to have the dealership say it would cost $800 to fix, all on us. It’s not cool to sell a vehicle and say there are no problems only to let us discover otherwise and then not make good. This was our third vehicle from this dealership and will be the last.

We strive very hard to make sure we are offering the best vehicles we can, but unfortunately, with used cars, we can not always predict or see future mechanical issues that arise down the road. I was preapproved for 14000 for a car found a 2017 kia for 17000 told them I wanted to run it through capital credit union first. dealer went into the office for about 15 minutes came out and told me capital denied me but they have companies bidding on my loan. wound up with wells Fargo at 10% interest. then the credit person brought me in his office and kept pressuring me to come up with 400 I kept telling him I dont have it he kept pressuring me until I blew up. I contacted capital and they said they were never contacted on the vehicle. they got vehicle information from me and said I was approved at 4.24%. I did refinance with capital and it was with wells Fargo for a week. I am glad I checked with capital. I wonder how many people that they have done this to that don't check into it. i want to post this so people are aware

12/6/2021 My car was in to attach 2 fuel tank brackets as one had snapped No engine light or gas odor present at drop off. They attached the brackets but left me drive off leaking gas somewhere. Called to report gas leaking and huge gas smell and Eric said it would be another $130.00 for diagnostics! Maybe it is a simple fix as something could have loosened up during repairs, I simply wanted it rechecked, but to charge me to recheck such recent work with this big of a safety risk is ridiculous! 0 stars for customer safety, service and care. 0 stars for affordability!

Great service buying my car and great price, great service with my oil changes, amazing service when I had to get things fixed and did all contact/work getting my warranty to cover things they were responsible for. We I had to all get fixed was my gas pedal, front left axel, tire balance and rotate. 10/10 would recommend and do already recommend them to my friends and family!

I live out of state (Upper Michigan). They have a new policy that states they do not take out of state cashiers checks. I was trying to buy a car. I bought a truck from them 10 months ago, and I did not have this issue. I even told them I was willing to wait to take delivery of the car to verify the check clears, but everyone I talked to was very strict on their 'No out of state cashiers checks' rule. Being that they do not accept cashiers checks, my only other option was wire transfer or financing through them. They did end up taking a wire transfer and I did end up getting the car, but they REALLY wanted me to finance through them. One individual named Guy was actually getting on my nerves about the whole ordeal when I was on the phone with him. I understand the dealership makes more money if you finance through them, and he even gave me a better rate. However, I had my reasons for sticking with my bank, and if I wanted to do things my way he would get upset over it. I guess I am not the only one who has had issues with him either looking at other reviews. I have had no issues with anyone else here and other than dealing with Guy over the phone I have had a good experience each time. Even in person Guy is nice to deal with. Unfortunately, due to this dealership not being able to take cashiers checks from me, I will no longer do business with Russ Darrow. Not worth the hassle.

Horrible experience. Had finance guy threaten to punch me in the face after telling me he needed more money than what was agreed upon. Never have had such Horrible customer service. Only bright spots are the service department are friendly and my young salesman was good. Will never buy another vehicle from this place again and would not recommend to anyone else either.

Their customer service is great! But I had my engine light on when I got there and they replaced a hose that was broken off. Then everything was good until I got home and the engine light was back on. The past few months with this vehicle have been nothing issues. I just want it to be fixed. We bought a car from them 2 years ago. The salesman was a stereotypical used car sales man. Sent us to lunch, told us he would pay for it, called us at lunch to rush back to the dealership and,never followed through with paying for our lunch. So tacky, he called me pretty, all the old moves. The car' s fluids were not topped off, they had the wrong tires on it, to the point that it was dangerous and a safety issue. The engine started having issues, serios issues preemptive of catastrophic failure, less than two years after we drove it off their lot. Never again. What a completely predictable disappointment. Shameful.

I purchased my Kia Optima from Russ Darrow in 2007 and have had it serviced here ever since. I have never felt like I was taken advantage of or had to question if a repair was really needed or if the work was actually done like other people I know that have went elsewhere. When I have needed repairs, I was always told how critical it was. The service department is great! I appreciate the help and guidance John, Sheila and especially Eric have given me over the years. I always feel comfortable calling with any questions or concerns I have and I have always been treated well. I recommend Russ Darrow to anyone. May 2021: I returned to Appleton for a visit after living in Michigan for the past two years. I had my car checked over before I left for Appleton and was told everything was fine. During my trip, I had issues and was grateful I could see my friends at Russ Darrow. They got me in while I was in town and made the necessary repairs overlooked by my Michigan garage. John and Guy were very patient in helping me find my first car, and getting it at the price that fits my budget. Mariah, who answered the phone and I initially spoke to, made the hectic search for a new vehicle much less stressful and more exciting (as it should be!). Nowadays, with companies seemingly pushing for the bottom line more than the interaction, it was very nice to visit a dealership that was thoughtful, helpful, and considerate of what I could afford. I feel that the staff is professional and polite enough. However, the issues of concern were not addressed, and brushed off as "that is just how that kind of vehicle is". I don't agree that a certain make and model is going to be a bumpy drive, and wobble and clunk this shortly after purchasing it. I also would not expect newly installed brakes to screech, squeal, and grind as much as they do either. Based upon reading I have done about my type of vehicle and what I have been experiencing, I feel that my transmission is starting to go, and Russ Darrow does not want to honor the warranty I purchased from them. At this point, I will be getting a second opinion from a reputable mechanic to assess and diagnose the issues with my vehicle.

Our experience was very good. Our sales man was very nice and educational. I felt he was very honest with us with any questions we had for him and he was very personable. When it came time for financing, we got in and out pretty quick. Overall they were very nice and weren't out to waste our time. The moment we got there, they already had our appointment set up and some paperwork ready to look over and sign. The longest we waited for service was while he was finding and bringing my car over so no complaints here.

5/6/19 another oil change. No problems with the oil change. I dropped my car off and left. I came back in about 2 1/2 hours and my vehicle was ready. The free car wash has not improved. 1/25/19 10:15 AM I came in for another oil change. Upon arriving I was told it would be 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 hours. I asked if I could keep my place in line, leave the dealership and come back. I was told I could not do that. Their policy was first come first serve. Which I do understand. At the 1 1/2 hour mark I came to the service desk to see how much longer it was going to be. Upon entering that area I hear the service desk employee stating "it has been only 1 1/2 hour so she can't" then he saw that I was present. He reviewed the recommended work list with me and I went back into the waiting room. It was another 15 minutes until my vehicle was ready to go. I was happier that I was given a more accurate time estimate . I feel the service desk employee was unnecessary sassy, about my expectations. I asked if there was a better time to come for an oil change, I was told Mon , Fri and Sat are busier than the other days of the week. The wait would be more like 30 to 45 minutes. One last thing they turn off my headlight and do not turn them back to auto, this happen every time. l will continue to use this company only because of the service agreement we have with them. I came to have a oil change today 10/24/18 at 2:14. I have had my oil changed there 3 other time since I purchased my vehicle. My wait was over 1 hour and 45 minutes today. No one warned me that there would be such a long wait, which would of been nice to know. I also got the free car wash with my service as I always do. As I have said with all my car washes at Russ Darrow Direct in Appleton, you get what you pay for. There is always some part of my vehicle that is still dirty when I leave. I feel that they spray the car down, bring it to you wet and say it was washed. another visit

The process of looking at cars, test driving, and purchasing a car was simple. I normally hate the process of buying cars but this was easy and a quick process. I bought my vehicle at Russ Darrow last weekend... I was back today for them to apply the simoniz coating to my vehicle. I was in an hour within about an hour and a half. It was well worth it. The staff is great.

Eric in the service department was great to work with. My car had a major issue and he worked with me to figure out the best solution. I had purchased a warranty with my car from Russ Darrow and it did happen to cover my engine that ceased randomly over the weekend. Eric was knowledge and did 100% of the communication between the warranty office and I. I was very overwhelmed after hearing about all the issues with my car and Eric stayed calm and explained it all. I am thankful for his service

They were good to work with. Not surprisingly they didn't tell us about a couple cosmetic issues which were easily fixed. My biggest issue was them ignoring me about getting a 2nd key(which they said they would do) and it took a call to the manager to finally have someone return my call and get a 2nd key for the vehicle. Love that the first few oil changes are included and unlimited car washes. Do wish they'd dry the vehicle but not going to complain.

I went with my sister to help her buy a different truck, and let me say, unfortunately Russ Darrow Direct was the only place that had exactly what we were looking for. Since other sales people were busy we got stuck with Mark. That’s when the worst car buying experience of my life started, and I wasn’t even the one purchasing. I’m glad I went with my sister, I felt like she was getting the run around from Mark the entire time, he started with telling her that they might not be able to take her trade in, he didn’t know much about the truck, and he acted as if my sister and I knew nothing about vehicles. He also kept calling my young sister ‘honey’ the entire time which didn’t sit well with me at all. When it came time to talk numbers he spent over an hour not giving us an answer. Once he finally gave us a trade in price the numbers on the paper were different than what he was telling us, so once again we had to spend more time waiting for the numbers to be correct. Anyway, outside financing was approved and my sister goes to pick up the truck the next day, and they forgot to collect her down payment, how does their financing guy forget to collect thousands of dollars???? So my sister was forced to go back the next day to give them that, she lives 45 minutes away. After she arrives there she is greeted by Mark, oh joy, and he asks what is wrong with her tail pipe. She had the truck less than 24 hours and the tail pipe had fallen down, and was about to fall off. They couldn’t fix it that day, so my sister once again had to come back after the weekend. She had a limited amount of time on that day and they didn’t even have the parts ordered to get it fixed. They were late getting it fixed, the only saving grace is that the tech was very friendly. After it was fixed Mark shows up again to ask “are you happy now?” in a very condescending tone as if my sister had no right to be upset that a 30k truck broke less than 24 hours after having it. Needless to say we will not being going back, nor would I recommend going there to anyone else.

Came in to buy a car, left with a good car. However the salesman was less than pleasant. He kept calling himself the "Consumer Advocate" but I think that's just a nickname he gave himself. Very unfriendly tone when it came to certain aspects of the process. Talked down to my girlfriend quite a bit. Typical used car salesman.

Overall, I had a pleasant buying experience from Russ Darrow. The car is exactly what I was looking for and was fairly priced. My salesman was new although very eager, enthusiastic and attentive to my needs. My only issue, and it is minor, was how unorganized and inefficient the process was after I decided to buy the car. It just felt slow. All in all, I am satisfied with everything. I love the car, I felt like I was given a fair deal and I would consider returning to Russ Darrow in the future.

John in sales was nice to work with. Didn’t complain when he had to take extra steps to get my car insurance details because I didn’t have them with me. However due to the way I was treated by Guy, who I signed all my paperwork with, I almost walked away from buying this car and will never go through Russ Darrow again. Questioning what I do for a living because I wouldn’t purchase extra insurance through him and stating “$22 is really going to break you?” I have never been so disrespected. If I didn’t need a new car immediately I never would have signed those papers. I won’t be recommending this place.

Had a great experience with Russ Darrow! Everybody was super nice. I worked with Mark on finding a car that worked for me. I expressed how important it was for me to have something reliable and would last a long time. This was my first time financing a car and I was super nervous but he helped through all that. I will definitely go back in the future!

Took my car in for an oil change and to look and an oil pressure issue warning light that kept coming on since the last time it was recently serviced here. The service team replaced the oil and said they fixed the issue only for the engine to blow an hour later. When I spoke to them about it they stated they're not obligated to meet any level of quality care for vehicles. They would not pay for damages and only kept trying to sell me another vehicle. Ironically they gave us free rental because and I was told by several technicians that they have several members of their team at Russ Darrow prone to mistakes during servicing. This place will ruin your car and not even apologize for it. You're better off going somewhere else.
Sorry to hear about your experience, we will look at this and hopefully avoid this sort of thing in the future.

From the beginning I stated that I did not want to use their financing. Unfortunately, they proceeded to ask me if I was sure and claimed they could do better than what I had lined up, despite numerous times telling them I was comfortable with my own financing. They did not work with me on my budget. Refused to reduce the price $150 to stay within my budget, which was already $1,000 over my preferred top price. Haven't had my car two weeks and already had to pay to fix something they claimed was working when it was inspected. The first time I went to use it, it didn't work, therefore, I am not convinced it was working when I bought my vehicle. They were willing to bring down the price on this a little bit, which I am sincerely thankful for. Regardless, I love the type of vehicle I picked out. I just probably won't be back to purchase from them again.

The only reason why 5 stars wasn't given is because I was promised a deal on tires and when the time came to buy tires, I was only offered discount on one tire, which was very disappointing.

The employees of Russ Darrow Grand Chute are always wonderful. We have been well taken care of through unforseen engine issues with the vehicle we purchased. Their warranty has covered 100% of the work and parts and now the replacement has been not functioning as it should, when my husband brought it to their attention, the issue was investigated immediately. Sheila, the customer service representative even went above and beyond, digging deeper and went out of her way to follow up with her management and the insurance company. She then called us a while after we had visited and got approval to track the problem to assure our replacement engine is functioning well. Very impressed with the care for customers at RD. On Saturday, my son and I stopped by the Darrow lot on a whim. We have been looking at cars and couldn't find anything that we felt right about, despite visiting many lots. We were greeted immediately by one of the salesmen, Anthony, who went out of his way to help us and show us what we wanted to see. We left for coffee and returned a short time later. Our original salesman was busy with another customer and we were approached by Mark. He was fabulous and more than we could have asked for. He went above and beyond. Overall my experience was good. My sales rep (Brent) was courteous and helpful. The finance guy was less courteous and really gave the hard sell on the warranty/service contract. He also tried to hard sell the biweekly payments (that includes its own fee) and longer term than I wanted even though I already had a super low rate and shorter term through my credit union. I did my own independent inspection and found two small issues. (The car came from the Milwaukee dealer, so these issues weren't something that the Appleton dealer missed.) They wrote those issues into the deal and I was able to get them taken care of at no charge. The only other downer is that the car only came with one set of keys and I didn't realize that until much later in the process. I feel like I got a good deal overall though and am still happy with the car a couple of months later.

I bought a Kia Sorento from this dealer today and had one of the best car buying experiences to date thanks to Mark Huth and Guy in financing. Mark was super patient in going through my financial situation and making sure I wasn’t getting in over my head with a vehicle I couldn’t afford. He also took his time explaining in detail all of the features of the Nissan Rogue and Kia Sorento, showing me every detail about how the instrument clusters worked, explaining the differences in drive modes and mechanical features, and what I would be able to do with them in regards to camping, and general towing and cargo capacity. In past experiences I’ve dealt with pushy sales people at other lots who would do absolutely anything to pressure you into a sale and I never once felt pressured at Russ Darrow’s. Guy was also great to make sure I understood all of the warrantees, programs Russ Darrow offers and making sure I was paying a price I was comfortable with. If everything works out with this vehicle, without a doubt I will be returning to this dealer to make my next purchase.

Bought a car. Got a good deal and had no problems with the car. I went in for an oil change and complimentary car wash. When they were pulling the car out of their car wash they hit a bolt and popped the tire. They covered the cost of that tire, as they should. I decided to buy a second tire to get a pair so they matched on the same axle, but since they don't keep tires on hand we had too wait for them to be delivered. After an hour of waiting they sent someone to to get the tires Eventually we they got them put on. Somehow a half hour oil change became 3 1/2 hours, and two tires.

Went with my fiancé to help find a vehicle she saw while driving past the front lot. This would be her first time purchasing a car from a dealer. The initial car we wanted to see was priced just about $20,000. After test driving the car, she did not feel comfortable with how small the back window was. Our sales person was very smooth and polite. He wasn’t pushy and told us if we find something else in the lot we might be interested in, he’d be happy to get the keys and answer our questions. While walking around I spotted a Nissan Altima SR 2016 that was priced for around $17k. What caught my attention first was it was a lot cheaper and after we test drove it, we absolutely fell in love with it. Here’s where the trouble starts. After about 2 years of owning the car, I noticed that the loan balance of the car was still pretty high for an assumed 60 month payment agreement. After going through the cars purchase agreement I observed that the original price on the contact for the car was increased by an extra $2000 without informing us. The warranty costs around $3000 which our bank quoted us a $1500 cheaper warranty and the agreement was for around 72 months. After all was said and done the car we took home was around $24k. Wish we would’ve read the contract before my fiancé signed it. The only question the finance person asks you is, “how much can you guys afford a month?” So he crunches his numbers and slapped another 12 months to the loan and upped the price on the vehicle by $2000 to meet your monthly payment hoping you don’t ask questions. How could you do that to someone? I wouldn’t call that a family friendly experience . Not a bad place to purchase a car, but please read your contract and ask LOTS of questions. Ask your bank as well for their perks and services , it may be cheaper. Definitely a learning experience to read what you’re signing and not what someone is saying.

I was greeted at the door with smiley and very knowledgeable salesperson. Her name is Isabel. She was very kind and patient with myself as I asked many questions and concerns about the type of vehicle I was looking for. She then helped me select a perfect match for my needs. I ended up selecting a mid sized car that gets almost 40 mpg on the highway, where I do most of my driving. I highly recommend both Isabel and Russ Darrow for your next vehicle selection.

Pulled in at 4:00 for a simple oil change and was not done until 6:30. My car did need a tire plug which I understand takes longer, but this was a very long wait, especially with my young child. After waiting all that time, my tire pressure is still showing low. I am not even sure if they plugged the tire. If they did plug it, did they forget to bring it back up to pressure? We waited in the waiting room for 2 1/2 hours. My 3 year old went to play with the toys in the kids spot. The toys were very dirty and there is no chair for adults to watch their child properly in that room. Not even a chair close by that could be pulled into the room. So i sat on the floor which was also in rough shape. Finally as we checked out I inquired as to what a stock supply fee was which was at the bottom of my bill and got a meager explanation as to the “extra costs” associated with doing a service. Basically this is a percentage fee that will always be added to the services we receive there in order to make it look at first like the services are being offered at a low cost. Why not add the fee into the actual service instead of an add on fee that doesn’t make much sense? This was our first experience with Russ darrow service and I am not sure we will return. Not sure if this is worth the “free oil changes” they offer with a vehicle purchase.

I was looking for an SUV and was able to find a great car form y needs, Bought a Volkswagen Tiguan, the process was quick and painless. however, a week after purchasing the car was damaged in fender bender. I was able to take to Collision center and get quote very quickly once the insurance got everything together I was able to get my car fixed within a day and got a free rental while it was getting fixed. The last few times I've been there they have been amazing! Customer service is awesome but their mechanics..... Dont hesitate to take it here tho, but for me It wasn't until this last time and the mechanic I had that I ran into an issue. The mechanic tried telling me that my bushing needed replacing because they are "rusty". They didn't check to see if they had any play in them (which they don't, so they are perfectly fine) just because they are rusty doesnt mean they need replacing, hello, its Wisconsin! They also failed to see that my muffler needed replacing (which I've known since I bought the car, ) and they also failed to see that my ball joints in the front are bad, yes, both of them, the one boot is torn on the passenger side so that's pretty bad. So my guess is they just did a quick once over, noted the obvious, tried going for something easy cuz I am a woman (who does know some stuff about cars) and called it a day. Needless to say I AM NOT happy with them at the moment.
