Dave Marone with RoundPoint Mortgage is the absolute man. I would die on a hill on there not being a better Loan Officer than him. The amount of times he went out of his way to help me and my wife in the home buying process was incredible and top notch. He gave advice when asked and is an all around good guy. If you want someone you can trust to give you the best advice and be there for you (especially in our case of being first time home buyers) then Dave is 100% your guy.

Disappointing and frustrating customer service. I have gone back and forth with reps who say "that's not my dept." about setting up auto debit for my mortgage. I have had several calls and call backs that ended with NO solutions. I am told there is no phone number for the dept that handles this. Um, what? I asked what the name of the dept was and I'm pretty sure she made something up on the spot. I'm thinking, "Finance" perhaps? The reps are not rude, but they seem to not be trained about the most basic aspects of their company. And if you are reading this, Roundpoint, please teach your reps to stop interrupting customers and let us finish our sentences. Basic telephone etiquette, along with better training, is needed here.

The phone system is not acceptable. No matter what, you have to listen to their ads to even get to the prompts needed to get to a live person. They do not always pick up but do call back if you choose that option. I have wasted a lot of time trying to resolve issues. They have failed to process and address change on my property and therefore failed to pay my insurance two years in a row. I had to pay it then waste hours on the phone with them. They process normal payments fine. They did not credit my payoff correctly so I had to call again about that. Ok company but typical of the poor customer servcie most large companies offer today. They do not value their customers time.

I was dubious when I found out that my loan had been transferred to a big loan servicer before I had even made any mortgage payments, but RoundPoint has made the process smooth and hassle-free. Their customer service reps were responsive to all my questions (once I got through to them past the inevitable automated menu) and helped me understand what I was responsible for and what to expect. When I went to use their online portal, I found it easy to navigate and full of helpful tools, like a calculator that shows how much I can save over the life of the loan by paying additional principle. I have only made one payment so far but I am expecting my mortgage experience to be painless thanks to Roundpoint.

I spoke to three different representative, and the first two really didn't give me enough details about my escrow shortage for 2021 and how to lower my monthly mortgage payment. Annette was very nice but not clear and was a bit hard to understand. Sonya was better but failed to mention the effects of my new escrow. I have phoned RoundPoint 3 times since Monday of this week, with the same request. All 3 representatives have been very nice, and helpful, but I still don't have my year end loan docs so I can complete my taxes. I refinanced after a few months with RoundPoint, and much of the reason had to do with their cumbersome processes. Not helpful in my experience.

If I could leave less than one star I would. This has to be the worst mortgage company in history. Clients pay on time, and pay their escrow yet round point cannot even pay their clients insurance premiums, and then when the insurance companies cancel homeowners policies Roundpoint lies and makes excuses to not make it right leaving their own clients uncovered

Customer service agent was extremely helpful! On another note, I received a letter from roundpoint abour refinancing and on the letter stated no closing cost, when i inquired the agent included closing cost! so we declined.

Thoroughly explained and walked me through every step of the process, what was expected and why, laid out clear timelines, and made himself available at any time of day to answer any questions. My mortgage was sold to RoundPoint several months back from the company I know well. The customer service is great. They do the best they can trying to figure out what the issue is and how to fix it but the actual correspondence from the company is extremely confusing. I have lost count how many times I have had to call and send in the same information that is requested. I am very glad they hire extremely patient people to answer the phones. So far the staff I have spoken with themselves were great.

I would recommend RoundPoint Mortgage to all individuals looking to purchase a home loan. I had previously dealt with Bank of America and that was a nightmare. To put it plainly, RoundPoint Mortgage does not compare. Jeremy was super knowledgable! He is a great communicator and enjoys keeping his clients in the loop. Jeremy and his team answered any and all questions, responding almost immediately to emails and texts, and they definitely helped eliminate a great amount of stress (which almost inevitably come into play when purchasing a home). Additionally, he constantly updated us throughout the entire process. It definitely made me feel as if he was personally invested into making our dream home happen - this I appreciated greatly. He came up with great alternatives to help lower our monthly mortgage and discussed our options. He definitely made me feel as if purchasing a home was possible, even with all of my concerns attached.

I needed explanation about the overpayment of interest - she helped me to figure out that this amount went to escrow and would be refunded back to me. Loan process was seamless. Great loan officer that responded to phone calls and emails in a timely manner. Great web upload system that made the request for documents and the upload of documents very easy and convenient. In this crazy real estate market as we were searching for a house our loan officer would in a few minutes have a loan pre-approval letter for the specific house we were making an offer on to assure the sellers of our viability in purchasing the home.

I called about fees charged to us on our mortgage and at the urging of the helper I also requested a mortgage payoff number. Trying to be helpful the lady moved the fees to principal payoff so now the payoff people held everything up. Took at least 4 phone calls and I finally got a payoff number by going through the phone tree. It came to me by email which went to my spam account. I finally found it five days later and have now hopefully paid off the mortagage. I say hopefully because in wiring my banker is not sure he was given the right Roundpoint address for payoff. And by the way, last time I checked their new webpage has no way to find a payoff number. An unbelieveably screwed up company. Glad I no longer have to do business with them.

I recently recorded the wrong amount on a check to pay my mortgage. When I realized my mistake, I called to correct the mistake. The representative that I talked to was very polite and helpful. I highly recommend working with Chris Allessio. I am a first time home buyer, and I had many questions throughout the process. He was able to answer them all in a way that made sense to me. He walked me through the process step by step, and truly allowed me to understand what was happening each step of the way. Chris was always very responsive, and picked up the phone right away when I called. If he was on another call, he was always very prompt in his call back, and never left me hanging. Going into this, I was worried I would not qualify, but Chris tooonthe time to figure out what it would take for me to qualify, and even though I had doubts throughout, Chris reassured me the whole time, and had more confidence in the process than I did at times. I’ve been through the mortgage process before with another company in a deal that fell through, and the difference is night and day. I will always always use Chris in the future and recommend him to everyone I know. We are paying off our home today, and I am grateful to RoundPoint for the reliable service we have received over the years. I remember when we closed years ago, my husband was out of town, and it was no problem. He signed his paperwork in Minnesota, and I signed mine in Tennessee, and the closing went 100% smoothly. During our years of paying the loan off, it never went up one penny, and the few times (twice?) I ever called RoundPoint with questions, I only had to wait 5 minutes or so on hold, and my request was promptly and efficiently taken care of by a courteous professional (like Lori, today). I would not hesitate to recommend RoundPoint to a friend or relative.

Edited following callback - Received a request to review a call back I had requested regarding my mortgage, which had been transferred from another company. I did request a call back to get the mortgagee information for my insurance but as far as I know no one has tried to call me back and I certainly haven't spoken to a representative or had my issue resolved. Called again to have someone call me and no one did - RoundPoint has no option to hold for a representative. Perhaps this was a glitch in the system but I am still waiting for that call back... Edit - I eventually did receive a callback while I was on the phone with a client, which of course necessitated me needing to call in again to request another callback. They did call me back in fairly short order but I was put on hold by the callback system (which would have been funny if not so frustrating). Once I was connected to a live rep I found her to be very kind and professional in getting me the information I needed and in listening to my less than glowing review of their phone system. 5 stars for the rep based on how she handled my call 2 stars for the automated phone system (it's easy enough to use but they really need to streamline it to improve communication - I'd suggest adding the option for a caller to stay on the line until a representative is available in addition to the option for the callback). Three star total from a new client.

I was very happy with the help I am receiving through Round Point Mortgage Company. I have been caught between State Farm (who sold my mortgage) and Round Point (who received my mortgage). The issue has been that my 1098 could not be accessed by either company and I need it for my taxes! Round Point customer service reps have been very helpful during all three calls to Round Point. As of this writing, the last rep assured me that they were able to open my 1098 and email it to me. I was told it should show up in about three days. This situation has been very frustrating with both companies indicating that the other company was responsible to solve the problem. Everyone has been very kind in their response to my frustration. I would give this 5 stars, but I am still waiting to see if the last rep was correct and my 1098 will indeed appear in my email.

I normally don't leave a review, unless it is either super bad or super great. In this case it was a great experience. I was speaking with a gentleman with the name C. White, he literally held my hand through the entire painstaking process of submitting a few forms that I was having trouble submitting on my own. C. White did exactly what I would expect from a service provider. 1. he listened to my concern. 2. involved himself to get my concern to the right people. 3. spoke and treated me like a real person. 4. he stayed on the phone and confirmed the documents, the ones that I was getting errors when sending, were getting through to his system. 5. he found me a solution. RoundPoint Mortgage is super lucky to have an employee like C. White. Would I recommend RoundPoint Mortgage? Let's see if they approve my request and I will come back with an update. But so far so good. Come to think about it, everyone I've spoken to over the phone with RoundPoint Mortgage has been super great. KUDOS to all the call center people that work at RoundPoint Mortgage.

The customer service person was very nice, professional, friendly, welcoming me as a new customer. I appreciated that she stay on the phone with me while I set up my profile online and registered and made my first payment. Very disappointing 1. My loan was transferred on the day it was due. I was notified via email from my previous mortgagee 2 days prior. 2. I went immediately to RoundPoint website to get setup to ensure I was not late with my payment. I could not get logged into the web site. 3. Called a service rep, my information had not yet been uploaded and had to wait 5 days. At least they gave me my loan number, which was a help later to get logged in. 4. As soon as my info was uploaded I setup a monthly auto payment. I noted that it would start the following month which meant I still had an issue with the current month. 5. Made one time payment via online tool. Which took several more days to actually hit my account. 6. About 10 days later I received a nasty gram via email that I was late on my payment. At this point, I had still not received any official notification from RoundPoint that they now had my mortgage, a welcome message, information on how to setup for payment, coupons in the mail. Nothing. 7. I called customer service listed on the nasty gram. The individual I spoke to was nice enough, but it took 30 minutes to correct the issue. My payment had gone only to principal and needed to be reapplied. 8. I received the welcome letter 2 days there after, on the 19th of the month. Ridiculous. This is the largest loan people will usually have. Penalties and additional interest are expensive. This is very important to get it right and take care of those paying on the loan. Its important to be timely in communications. My trust is low.

They transitioned to a new online system and required all customers to re-register with absolutely no notice. My loan is getting low enough, so I decided to pay it off so I don't have to go through the registration process, but it's next to impossible to get that document mailed or emailed to me. The automated assistant didn't work, so I tried to get to a live person, got stuck in a phone loop, but finally talked to a person who promised me I'll get an email within the hour. Instead of the email for payoff, I received this email to rate their service, thus this note. I'll never do business with this company again (unless the loan is sold to them like my current loan).

My refinance between Freedom Mortgage and Round point was the worst experience of my life. RoundPoint sends me an escrow analysis that reflects a $4300 shortage. I paid about 95% of if before my actual payment change after being told my monthly payment would be reduced over the next 12 months (vs the $360 increase I was facing). However, the next two months I still had to the pay the original payment. Then after being told by the current agent that was incorrect info about the process, I attempted to settle the remaining shortage of $350 by paying over the phone. But instead of the agent processing the remaining escrow shortage which she said was $350 (multiple times) I later found out she processed the next month’s mortgage payment 2-weeks early. They can take your money in 24-48 hours but it takes them 5 business days to return it. OMG!!

Update - I was refunded my payment amount eventually. Keeping at 3 stars because the whole process could be improved and was not a great user experience. Poor communication and an inaccurate website. Stated hours of operation on the website do not reflect the same when attempting to make a support call. Went through phone menus for 10 minutes when the website says they are open, just to have the machine tell me they are closed and hang up on me. Support cases take longer than 48 to receive a response, and sometimes require you to follow up multiple times to get any attention, especially if Roundpoint is on the hook for something. I'll update my review if and when my issues are resolved.

I currently have two mortgages with Roundpoint. The most recent was April of 2019. I had a great deal of problems with my mortgage agent and the assistant to communicate with me after signing the mortgage agreement. I was told that since I already had a mortgage with Roundpoint that another mortgage would be a streamlined process. NOT TRUE! I many problems keeping Roundpoint on track to my closing date which should have been 21 to 28 days start to finish. Due to lack of communications from underwriter through Roundpoint to me the loan took 36 days and cost me $100's of dollars. I found this process very frustrating .

From the first phone call with Marc, we knew we had made the right choice as he was very helpful and informative and you immediately felt at ease as if you were speaking with your Uncle. I had the misfortune of having my horrific mortgage lender transferring my account to this joke of a business. Absolute incompetence - I'm currently past my payment due date, yet haven't received a single notice regarding my account (or loan number necessary to even try to create one or verify for a call) or billing statement. I've sat through the insufferable phone menu options, ridiculous hold times, only to be hung up on. If you are considering this as your lender, run.

My husband and I were referred to RoundPoint by our real estate agent for my mortgage needs and I could not have been happier with the referral. This was our first home buying experience and we had no clue how to begin the lending process. We were introduced to Paul Weidner at RoundPoint and right from the start we knew this was going to be our lender. This has been the worst experience. I've been with them for 4 years and the service has gone down. I called customer service I was number 540 online. My home insurance has not been paid despite them escrowing. This is my 3rd call trying to get them to fix it. It took my 6 months to refi with them, despite them being the originator of the loan. Despite multiple calls to keep on the timeline they outlined they still couldn't get it together and I had to send the same document multiple times to different people. I promise if I get a better rate I'm going with another company ASAP.

I've been with RoundPoint for several years. My original loan was sold to them. The interface is a good one and easy to navigate. One loan officer in particular, Caleb Kurtz, is top notch. Always available and communicates tougher concepts in a fairly smooth manner. I stayed with RoundPoint while considering a re-fi because I liked the interface so much but working with Caleb makes me want to stay for life.

Every time we call we have to go through about 5 minutes of getting to the right person and then having to answer many questions before we can even get to the reason why we called. A little frustrating if you have to call them frequently. Otherwise the people all seem to be nice however they always say they will call back with a response but never do.

I gave it a 5 because of how nice the lady was that helped me, but I’m very disappointed with what happened. I scheduled a payment for the 22nd and then went back to check and be sure everything was okay. I was Asked to fill out new information for your new format and the new screen said there was no payment scheduled. On the 22nd you took out 2 payments and caused my account to show no funds. When I called I was told my 2nd payment couldn’t be refunded till Tues. the 28th and I’m short in finishing my Christmas. I know the whole thing was my fault but you should have had the old and new screens info linked up together.

So frustrating. Spoke to a rep at Roundpoint on Sept 21 who said she would send a request to have my past due balance (from my forbearance plan) deferred to the end of my loan. No response. Called today and spoke with another representative who said that all she knew was that the last request was "denied" but she would send another request. Did not know why the last request was denied.....so I asked her what made her think it would be approved this time. She had no idea....just asked me if there was anything else she could help me with. Hello??? So far she hadn't really helped me with anything. So tired of repeating my same story over and over again every time I call. She even wanted to know how/why I was put on the forbearance plan in March 2020. Surely that should be reflected in my history.

In the past when I've called customer service I'm having to press so many buttons to finally/hopefully end up where I need to be. This wasn't the case when I contacted customer support about an escrow question. The lady that assisted me was extremely easy to understand, very polite and answered my multiple questions. Crooked. After reviewing my monthly mortgage statement I discovered an "additional charge" that had been getting applied for months. After a 30 minute call with Roundpoint no answers were given to what the charge is other than it is usually life insurance or a warranty, neither which I have ever signed up. It left off with a promise to call back within 5-10 days. A call I have yet to receive. I know we as borrowers don't always get to choose our lender. And some lenders ate known to add unauthorized charges. I can only guess Roundpoint is one of those type of lenders. If you can stay away then I advise to do so.

I have had to call 5 times now to get a copy of a my mortgage forms. I have still no received them. The customer service agents are super friendly on the phone, but the follow through is terrible. As I said, I've had to call 5 times and still do not have the forms that I need.
