Avoid if you can Make sure you take your own notes at closing I was told I would be receiving my Ernest monies back. I kept receiving property tax statements so I called the title company and they said you recieved that money to pay taxes. So I called my current mortgage company and they said monies were paid out for taxes which would go to the county but when I called republic title back with this information not going to mention names but she kept bringing up that I recieved a check and that I signed the paperwork. Also Sarah was handling my closing but sarah was not present for my closing which I believe is where the disconnect happened. I was told the check I recieved was for ernest money because I am a disabled veteran and moving forward I would not be paying taxes. Obviously they did something different and when you call to see why your current mortgage company is saying monies were paid out for taxes but the title company is just saying you recieved that check to pay taxes. All the are going to say is it was a misunderstanding but you will be responsible for paying the taxes. They are also going to say the tax bill was not out at the time you closed after the fact. Which means you still have to pay taxes. And in my case is over 4,000 dollars. Please be carefully doing business with them.

Engage them early, get your closing costs understood especially with all the online lender activity. It is important to have someone that knows the local environment and the legal requirements.
