If you are looking for a bank just to have a debit card, go ahead. If you need much else, find another bank. Their ability to help with other services (currency exchange, transfer, etc) is very disappointing. It about the worst bank I have ever had to bank with.

I had the most enjoyable time opening my new bank account with Carrie Patterson! She made sure to answer all of my questions and treated myself and my fiancé as if we were family!! I have plans to move to Kentucky and my experience with this branch makes me want to come back to Johnson City for all of my banking needs!! Thank you so much for your kindness, Carrie! :) oh and by the way.. Go Team Android! ;) haha! 😜

Corporate Regions does not have its customers best interest at heart. I’d highly recommend a credit union or better big bank.

This is by far the worst bank I've ever had an account with not only did the agents on the phone lie and tell you what you want to hear but the people that with inside this branch lie too.. I would never recommend this bank to anyone the way they run things is just crazy I was basically paying all my bills twice plus getting charged double in over draft fee

Opening an account at the Sunset branch in Johnson City was supposed to make it easier to pay our house payment since we could make deposits directly to the seller that way. Ha! NOTHING went as expected. I opened the account by providing all the necessary documents ( DL, SS, proof of address) in person. I was told I had a previous debt of approximately $20 from where I closed an account in the past. This was news to me but I was willing to pay it. I believe they waived it but I can't remember. When I received my debit card, the name issued was my previously married name and NOT what I had provided on my DL or SS cards. I contacted CS about this issue and was told that the card was issued because my old account information had not been updated. (I thought that was purpose of providing current State issued documents. ) I made time to go back to the branch to make the changes and was told that I needed to provide my marriage license to reflect my current name. Apparently a state issued driver's license and social security card were not enough. I live close to the TN/NC line but only go to TN once a week for shopping, etc. Because of the time and distance involved, I was allowed to scan and sent the marriage license. New card and checks were going to be ordered. I was excited to download the banking app so I could deposit checks remotely. As soon as I started using the app, the account was frozen due to possible fraudulent activity. When I called CS, alarmed, I was told the account was flagged because it was a new account, that my home address was out of state, and that I had used the mobile app to deposit checks. With each conversation over the phone and in person, I was treated like a criminal. There was no one that could listen to the situation without blaming the system. The system, apparently, had no one that could make a decision based on facts. The system is apparently designed to expect everyone to exhibit criminal activity. In all seriousness, I was told that the account was flagged because I used their app in the manner that it was designed to be used to deposit a check. The fact that the account was new was the most absurd thing I'd heard. Aren't you supposed to use an account after you open it? I've never been told that I shouldn't use a checking account until it's a certain age. As for the different state issue; we live in an area close to the state line where the greatest employment, shopping and medical opportunities are not in the state I live in. I was employed at a TN university for years while living in NC and it makes sense to bank and shop where you spend most of your time. The money in the account was finally released after nearly 3 weeks. I closed my account immediately.

This Regions is the worst bank you can find. They hold your money for weeks and give no reason for it. My advice is for you to choose a better bank
