I’m a business customer and needed a few cashiers checks. The entire staff was great. Then, because I dared to go into branch for assistance I received the automated email below. Which really tells customers please don’t come in. Shameful! Make no mistake, this is not about my time as the email states. “Thank you for visiting an RBFCU branch today! We know your time is valuable. For faster transactions, please consider trying our convenient self-service options, including Online Banking at rbfcu.org, the RBFCU Mobile app, or an RBFCU drive-up ATM.”

    Response from the owner

Hello Brian, we're sorry to hear that you feel this way as this was not our intention. You are welcome inside any of our branches for assistance. We will be sure to pass along your feedback to our team so they may look further into this matter. Should you have any further concerns, please contact us at [email protected]. We appreciate you being a member.

I have been a member of this credit union for three years. I have never had an overdraft or any sort of fee until today, when a transfer was initiated a day earlier than I expected and hit with an insufficient funds fee. I called in with hopes that they could give me a one time courtesy and waive this fee since I have been a loyal customer for over three years. I was met with a simple no, we don't do courtesy fee waivers. I have never been with a bank or credit union that doesn't work with their customers and help out their loyal ones when a mistake is made. I highly recommend you look elsewhere to another bank or credit union for your banking needs. Its clear this one is looking to just make money off you in unwaivable fees. I will be switching to another bank shortly.

Such good rates and service that make me regret not finding them earlier. Only drawback is the location, which took me almost an hour to reach in traffic from East Dallas - staff was awesome and stayed late to get my re-finance loan processed...on a Saturday evening! Lot of banks offer 0% balance transfer on their credit cards but RBFCU also offers a 0% "service charge" instead of the customary 3-5%. It's YOUR money...spend it on your future instead of paying bank fees :)

This location is by far the best one I have been to however the problem are not at the branch level. I would give 1 star for the whole experience but giving 2 because of the helpful people at this location. Find another bank. I saw their low auto loan rates posted everywhere. I relocated to DFW and said hey I need a new Credit Union let's give them a look. Everything about the process has been painful. They do not allow deposits through ATMs. No you read that right. I've been using ATM's to make deposits for 25 years at least. And they do not allow it. I got a car loan buying a car from an individual. He wanted to do the paperwork at the bank to make sure he got paid. I thought ok I understand scams etc. We went to this branch and 3 hours later the paperwork was done. Yep worse than going to a bad car dealer. 3 weeks later I call and ask where my license plates are. Nope they have not even submitted the paperwork to the state yet. They take internally 4-6 weeks to do that. That is the slowest bank ever. If they would have told me that I would have taken my own paperwork to the DMV and did the taxes and title myself. It would have been less painful. Oh and this bank makes you apply to do Epay and that also is a pain in the you know what. I have never had to apply for Epay anywhere it is just a given in the world now. Good luck in your search for a bank.

Extremely helpful, friendly and courteous. I walked out of two different banks before I found these guys. Super low refinancing rates and very modern business practices. Would highly recommend.

Very poor customer service. For many services they ask you to call 800# and then may God be with you while waiting on the phone. CS reps are not very well trained. For every little thing they put you on hold frequently and for long time. We had 5 family members accounts and ended up closing. Very laid back culture and no respect of people time. Once I expressed my concerns about long wait time and I was told he will hang up the phone, if I talk like this. like Very frustrating

    Response from the owner

When I first became a member, things got off to a shaky start. Despite the initial issues, courtesy and respect were always the dominant reaction I received from the staff. I've been a member for 2 years and have watched this branch grow and change in all the right ways. I feel VALUED when I go there. They always make sure I am taken care of. I have witnessed the relationship I have with them grow and become more valuable to me. I am happy to do business with them!

    Response from the owner

Hi Jim, we really appreciate this and we are happy to grow with you as a valued member. We understand you do have other choices when it comes to your banking. Thank you for choosing RBFCU.

Got a membership, thought this Credit Union was better than NFCU, but little did we know... After opening an account and applying for a credit card at the same time we opening a checking and savings (which took a hour and a half to process) well they told us we would have an answer for our credit card within 3-5 business days.. well that didnt happen we got a call that we had to speak to someone and give them permission to run our credit since we didnt do it in person (they said we did it online which we did not! We were inside of the bank and told us they did not need anything from us beside what we have already provided). Well a few days after the phone call, we received a letter that required all kinds of proof of residency, IDs, income and a reference for a credit card. Which we did not know about prior to running our credit. We turned it all in a week later at the bank ( they dont take any documents online or by mail) we had to wait over a hour after turning in the documents, to find out we only got approved for 500. And the excuse for the low limit was we had not been members long enough. When we have amazing credit. No debt. NFCU approved my husband and I immediately for 22,500 when we opened with them 3 years ago. Waste of time. Too much work for nothing. This bank took too much of our time. Needless to say, we are STAYING WITH NAVY FEDERAL.
