“Payday” lenders are notorious for their unethical practices, and this company is no different. They are still charging an astronomical amount of interest and trying to collect payments, even if you advise them the funds are unavailable, during the COVID-19 crisis. Sadly, some of us have been unexpectedly laid off, and are now trying to find money for food and basic needs. To know that a financial institution is trying to charge your bank account to take whatever little money you may have is not only disheartening, it’s inhumane. Surely, it should be understood that an individual who borrowed money from you would be significantly impacted by a lay off shortly after. Add an unprecedented international pandemic, and it’s quite obvious that those affected have limited options and are navigating this situation one day at a time. Calling people everyday at a time like this... hounding them for a minimum payment when you are charging an extremely high interest rate is disgusting. Have you considered that some of those impacted are not only dealing with job loss, but deaths of loved ones? Even Landlords are compromising with tenants. Have some compassion, Texas Power Finance. The greed is apparent.
